Little Robin Redbreast: A Mother Goose Rhyme

Rate this book
Shari Halpern has taken the nursery classic and brought it up-to-date with brilliant hand-painted cut-paper collages. Her large forms and bright but still subtle colors are especially suited to the enjoyment of very young children. A perfect book for reading aloud. Full color.

OVersized illustrations with single lines of a Mother Goose rhyme make up this book. This would be good for some group sharing, especially with the large illustrations. It would also be a good book for early readers who are sounding out words- they can read an entire book in one sitting.

Grades: This book will be instructive for and delight children in PK and KG
Summary: Little Robin Redbreast sits in the tree and Pussy-Cat climbs up to catch him. The little bird flies down and taunts Pussy-Cat. Oh, but Pussy-Cat soon catches up and Little Robin Redbreast is scared. Does he manage to escape?
Review: Illustrator Shari Harper brings this old time Mother Goose favorite to life with clear-cut lines and bold colors.

This book is based upon an Mother Goose rhyme. It is short and sweet with fantastic illustrations, great for asking listeners questions about what they see. Used this for my Preschool Tree storytime.
