Enjoyable SF story with a touch of romance. Dana/Dora is a sympathetic protagonist with some interesting layers. Other characters in the story, including J, the romantic interest, are less fully realized. Nonetheless, the characters and worldbuilding have piqued my interest enough that I will keep my eye out for the next book in the series.

I began reading Senthien and couldn’t put it down!
A fast paced, fun book with interesting concepts. NS. Brown did an excellent job at forming an alternate universe far in the future, with layers that have only begun to be peeled back. The love story is kind of abrupt in the beginning but plays out well, and the characters come to life naturally. I can’t wait to continue this series to see what happens next and what more there is to be learned! An excellent adventure!

I enjoyed getting to know her complex character, her species, the complex dystopian future universe she is living in and the secret she is hiding. She is very much her own character, but at times she sort of reminds me of a mix of many of my favourite iconic characters from past sci-fi and fantasy: Ayla from Clan of the Cave Bear, Mr. Spock from ...more
I will admit, I am a sucker for science fiction. I really did want to love this book. There was nothing wrong with the writing. I even at times felt that the mc, Dora was kind of endearing. The romance was sweet and smart.

The reason I don't feel like this warrants more than three stars is that I didn't really feel like a whole lot happened. Now if you are a technology buff you might disagree. I myself was bored quite a lot of the time with the descriptions of the systems and the computers and t
