One of the local theatre groups is producing this play and I've been cast in it. When the film came out I loved it. I think it will work well on the stage and looking forward to being a part of it.

A bit outdated

It's not hard to see why this screenplay was picked up for a movie. Besides the brilliant true story behind it, the script itself is perfect. It's well paced, funny, moving and sharp. The script arguably deconstructs men and male vulnerabilities more than the movie and more than I've ever read before hands down. There are a couple of interesting scenes that were cut from the finished film that did deserve to be cut but are still impactful on the page. Something that comes across in the script more than the film is the importance of the setting, the Sheffield locations and dialect, beats of speech is one of the best things, it's superb. Great read.

A wonderful play. It is set in the UK, so most of the dialogue is in the common dialect, but the plot is very similar to the movie, and the characters are a wonderful read.

It really is one of the best British films ever written.
Flawless dialogue, hilarious story, touching and emotional themes, and an epic ending.
