Read this to the kids tonight for story time. It was a nice story about a girl who gets new single blade ice skates for her birthday. The kids weren't too impressed but I thought it had a good message about trying until you get better.
Not anything really special just a girl who wants to learn to skate like a famous ice skater. She is not very good at first and gets made fun of, but in the end it all works out.
This Realistic Fiction book is about a girl named Kate who got a pair of ice skates for her birthday and then tries to help her little sister, but she then fails; at the end, a famous skater helps Kate to learn to skate better in her new skates.
