Gallant Fourteenth: The Story Of An Indiana Civil War Regiment

Rate this book
A new, "Memorial" edition of a classic, personalized Civil War regimental history. When Gallant Fourteenth came out in 1980, it was called by its Civil War Times reviewer "The best regimental history in modern times." Since then many good regimental histories have come out but this book remains a must for the buff. The book has not been on the market recently, so this new hardcover edition is welcome.

In this Civil War regimental history the roots of the men who would serve in the Union's Fourteenth Infantry Regiment are explored as is their moral fiber. A brief history of their war time activities is provided as is their reunions following the American Civil War. The work is well documented and should be of interest to the Civil War buff.
