सुंदर कविताएँ। मुझे विशुद्ध हिंदी में ये कविता पढ़कर प्रसन्नता हुई। वाजपेयी जी की कविता में अलग निबंध है। यह आपको अलग ही आभा देती है।

मोल लगा बिकनेवाले का
बिना बिका बेकार हो गया

भारत-पाकिस्तान पड़ोसी, साथ-साथ रहना है,

-हिरोशिमा की पीड़ा-
किसी रात को
मेरी नींद अचानक उचट जाती है
आंख खुल जाती है
मैं सोचने लगता हूँ कि
जिन वैज्ञानिकों ने अणु-अस्त्रों का
अविष्कार किया था:
वे हिरोशिमा-नागासाकी के
भीषण नर-संहार के समाचार सुनकर
रात को कैसे सोये होंगे?
.
दांत में फंसा तिनका
आंख की किरकिरी,
पाँव में चुभा कांटा,
आंख की नींद,
मन का चैन उड़ा देते हैं
.
सगे - सम्बन्धी की मृत्यु
किसी प्रिय का न रहना,
परिचित का उठ जाना,
.
यहाँ तक कि पालतू पशु का भी विछोह,
हृदय में इतनी पीड़ा,
इतना विषाद भर देता है कि
चेष्टा करने पर भी नींद नहीं आती
करवटे बदलते रात गुजर जाती है
.
किन्तु जिनके आविष्कार से
वह अंतिम-अस्त्र बना,
जिसने छः अगस्त उन्नीस सौ पैतालीस की काल-रात्रि को,
हिरोशिमा-नागासाकी में मृत्यु का तांडव कर,
दो लाख से अधिक लोगो की बलि ले ली,
हजारों को जीवन भर के लिए अपाहिज कर दिया...

क्या उन्हें एक क्षण के लिए ही सही, यह...
अनुभूति हुई कि उनके हाथों जो कुछ
हुआ, अच्छा नही हुआ?
यदि हुई, तो वक़्त उन्हें कटघरे में नही खड़ा करेगा।
किन्तु यदि नही हुई, तो इतिहास उन्हें कभी माफ नहीं करेगा...

Its true that there is no money in poetry,
But then, there is no poetry in money (read power) either
And perhaps this is why Vajpayeeji was also a poet.
Our last statesman Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayeeji passed away 2 days ago on 16th August 2018. A no. of people posted snippets of his poetry on my FB/Twitter timeline. That aroused my interest in his poetry. Also, "Kya khoya kya paaya" which has been sung by Jagjit Singh is one of my alltime favourite poems.
This book contained 35 poems selected by Vajpayeeji himself with a short autobiography. While most of the poems were mediocre, 4-5 poems were outstanding and made the book worth reading. Vajpayeeji's style reminded me a little of Dinkar

..."The sun is a truth that can not be denied, but the dew is also a reality. It is different from the fact that the dew is transient, why should I live momentarily? Paint the beauty scattered in the particle?"...
The collection of poems in this book are soulful, as for a reader every other poem written by Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee captures not just the imagination of the poet who is indulging himself with a reader but also intimacy of the poet with the world. Chuni Hui Kavitayen is not any simple read as it brings out the hidden talent of a seasoned politician who expresses himself as a poet even in parliament , where, even his opponents would appreciate and go in a flow with Shri Vajpayee, later understanding that he was answering to their criticism or accusation.
These poems are the best examples of a person living even after his death. A must read for hindi poem enthusiasts and for all those who just love to read poems...

Very Good poems. In fact book starts with the introduction with his childhood days, the environment in which he cultivated habit of making poems, his father, how he influenced him in literature, environment at home etc. Many more things are there.
I picked this book because, I love literature in any form, I love Atal Bihari vajpayeeji's style of leadership. He was true leader, true patriot. Real Gem of India.

Most are average expecting few
The some of poems are ordinary.
Some even don't fit in the category of poetry but there are definetly some few gems .These gems make the book worth reading.
One good point of the book is Vajpayee ji has used good hindi and not a single word of urdu.

I'm not much of a poetry person so I can't do justice to the review and shamefully I do admit that my Hindi isn't as good as it used to be. Firstly, reading anything written by great leaders is always an astonishing and life changing experience which gives you an individual and wider perspective of the people and society. Secondly, poetry has the power to allow one to feel all the emotions at once just with few words placed so creatively.

आहुति बाकी यज्ञ अधूरा, अपनों के विघ्नों ने घेरा।
कुछ कविताएँ पढ़ते वक्त तो ऐसा लगा कि अटल जी की आवाज कानों में गूंज रही हो।
उनका सबकुछ राष्ट्र को प्रेरित करता है। ये कवितायेँ उनके राष्ट्र प्रेम की सुंदर अभिव्यक्ति हैं।
सबको पढ़ना चाहिए।
