It's Christmas Eve and Santa is getting ready to deliver the presents. He's off to a rough start though. With a big gust of wind, the bag of presents falls off Santa's sleigh! Once on the ground, Santa clumsily slips and slides around trying to gather them up. With help from his animal friends and their cries of "Careful, Santa!" the presents are found, but where is Santa's mouse?

This tale of an endearing, absent-minded Santa will keep children giggling, and hoping he gets those presents delivered!

It was interesting to hear a very different kind of Santa story, but it did feel rather random. The idea of a super clumsy Santa didn’t really appeal to me because I think it takes away some of his magic.

Santa is supposed to be delivering the presents to the boys and girls, but instead he keeps dropping them. I enjoy the illustrations in this series. The stories are kind of meh. Not what Christmas is about in our family.

I just wasn't crazy about the illustrations or the story. It had some cute moments, but isn't something I would want to read over and over.

Not a "typical" Christmas story and my 4-year-old loved it.

Christmas Eve is on a windy night. The bag of presents fell out of the sleigh so they stopped at the park where the presents landed. As Santa hopped out of the sleigh, he landed on his bum (my child loved that!). He slid on the ice and almost ran into the duck's house. He climbed a tree to fetch a present and got stuck in the branches. He saw presents on the slide so he zoomed down it and almost hit a snowman. Once he'd gathered all the presents, he couldn't find his helper, Little Mouse. He finally found her hanging from a tree branch. Santa and his animal friends used his coat as a trampoline. They load up the sleigh and off they go.

This is a simple little Christmas book. Nothing amazing, but a cute book to read to a young class in the days leading up to Christmas. It'd be fun to predict what would happen to Santa next and where the little mouse might be.
