Ellie Pagan has a list of reasons to stay away from Ford Landry.

It’s a mile long and was so much easier to stick to when he was a world away. Now that he’s standing in front of her—body hard and chiseled from a stint in the military, suit cut to perfection, and a smirk she could never resist—remembering all the reasons why just got a whole lot harder.

Ford gets Ellie isn’t his biggest fan. He just doesn’t care.

Standing in front of him, giving him hell, she’s even prettier than he remembered. All he can think about is how she felt in his arms, the taste of her kiss, the sound of her giggle in the middle of the night. He may not know how to win her back, but he does know this: he may have let her go once, but that’s one mistake he won’t make again.

Swear was an enjoyable read and I liked learning more about Ford Landry and his first love. He and Ellie had a pretty simple relationship but it was still fun seeing them together and working out their past. I had a few issues when their story just seemed a little too easy and simple to the point I got bored with it and just couldn't see a connection. It was like their love for one another came back so fast that it made it hard for me to believe they actually shared feelings for one another. Especially when Ford's family got involved in the book and took focus off of him and Ellie.

This wasn't my favorite book in the series but I'm still really looking forward to reading more from this family. I'm dying for the next book already so I will definitely be reading that when it comes out.

I'm in the minority with this one and I'm ok with that.

Issue 1 - it's been 10 years and the Hs not even looked for the h. He left, called a few times but only talked to her once and it didn't go well. After that it was radio silence. It was a set up by family members that reintroduced them.

Issue 2 - Hs lack of a real apology. Yes he had remource and he apologized but I didn't feel it. It would have meant more if he would have at least looked for her.

Issue 3 - heroine came off strong initially but gave in less than 30% into the book.

Issue 4 - heroine was obviously more hurt by the break-up than the H. It wasn't equal pain or hurt.

Issue 5 - them coming back together was wwwaaaayyyyy to easy!

Issue 6 - way to predictable

Issue 7 - both had other sexual partners - which I guess I should be happy that the heroine moved on - BUT the numbers were extremely out of wack - he had lots she had little. I also had to hear that he has had hook ups frequently yet no real info on the heroines sex life besides "she hasn't been in a relationship for years"

Overall it just wasn't a win for me and I never really felt their love.

I love this family! One of my favorite series ever. Sweet, emotional and angst… what more could you want? Big recommendation!

Swear is a second chance romance about Ford Landry. Yes, this mysterious, former soldier. I was waiting for his story and to discover his mysterious half. And I wasn’t disappointed.

Ellie Pagan was his high school sweetheart, but when he enlisted, not everything went well in their relationship. Now that he has retired from the army, and she went back into his life .. he wants her back. He never forget about her and although she is not his greatest fan, nice to say it nicely, he is not going to lose the fight about her heart.

I love this family and I think it’s the best series that featuring family now. It is refreshing, delicious and well-written. Her stories are real and they always add something special to the whole series. I can not wait to see the women’s stories of Landry’s family!

3.5-4 'My rainbow after the storm' Stars!

I always try to catch up with series I've started and haven't finished. The Landry Family series by Adriana Locke is one of them. I always enjoy to go back to beloved characters between new releases and this time I quite enjoyed reading Ford Landry's second chance at love! The Landry boys are so swoony and sexy and Ford was no exception!

Yes, Ellie got on my nerves sometimes with the whole thing of not trusting Ford again. I understand why she behaved that way at the start but it took her a long time to actually trust and accept her true feelings for Ford. Of course, I am a massive fan of second chance romances so, besides that, I really enjoyed Swear. It was entertaining, emotional and sexy. I love this family and I can't wait to read Cam and Sienna's love stories!

top pick

Sexy, steamy, and completely SWOON-WORTHY, book four in Adriana Locke's Landry Family Series was a COMPLETE HIT for me! Ms. Locke blows me away with each new release, but there was something about Ford and Ellie's story that resonated within me. This hilarious and romantic, second chance love story kept me captivated to the very end, and even then, these characters will never leave my heart.

"He was my first love, my first everything."

Fool me once...and all that jazz. Now that Ellie and Ford are both in the same town, and know about one another, one of them wants to rekindle what they once had, and the other wants nothing to do with the other. And talk about HEATED sexual tension. Oh baby, does it get real after that! Ford is nothing if not persistent and Ellie will not get burned again, but neither of them can fight the simmering feeling burning inside of them.

"I don't need you."

"Maybe I need you."

Ms. Locke gives us another set of characters that will own your heart! The entire Landry family...they are just EVERYTHING! It's always, ALWAYS a special treat when we get to dive back into their world. It seems like I've been waiting for Ford's story forever, but honestly, I just wanted it so bad because I fell for him from the very start. If you adored Ford Landry before, ladies, you do not know what you're in for this time around. He will OWN you mind, body, heart, and soul.

The boys have had their turn, now it's the girls turn with SWINK, Camilla's story, coming this Summer. Oh man, is there a story there or what! I can't wait to see how it all turns out! I adore this author and will read anything she puts down on paper! Thank you Ms. Locke for creating a world where we can completely lose ourselves and not feel a tiny shred of guilt about it. Your romances are ALWAYS a dream! I believe this book right here, is some of your BEST WORK yet!

These Landry brothers sure know how to win a girl's heart. I'm undecided on which brother is my favorite! They're all fiercely loyal and sweet with just the right amount of cockiness and ready to chuck their ego outside the window for the right woman.

Everyone knows I'm a big fan of second chance stories and this one was not as salty like the ones I've read before which I totally appreciate.

You have no idea how glad I am to see the banters between the Landrys is still there and still as amusing as ever. I'm a sucker for a good and witty banters. But who doesn't right? And we get to see a lot of those here.

Also, I have a feeling that Nate-the-sassy-bartender-at-the-Gold-Room is Camilla's "mystery" man. Calling it!

Overall, Ford's story did not disappoint. I loved it. The ride was a fun one and I can't wait to see him in Cam's book with a baby in his arms!

==>They have not seen each other for 10 years. Our hero left and did not look back. He had several women and lots of sex and only met our heroine because the family interfered.
As always our heroine was more restrained in her sex life.<==

"“Yes. He’s the one that, after the worst few weeks of my life, signed up for the military and took off.”"

==>Too easy. They did not even solve all the problems between them and she already spread her legs. WTF! Women do not resist the Landry brothers.<==
"“Spread your legs.” It’s a command, an order, given with such authority I shiver."

My life would be vastly improved, honestly, if I could just read a series from the beginning. But no, I refuse. I'm gonna jump straight into book number 4 and, knowing myself, I'll go back and read the other ones, but I'll do so begrudgingly.

So, that's the kicker here: I have not read books 1-3 of this apparent Landry Family saga (a family so soppy, they make me hurt a little bit). But I read this book.

Here's the verdict: it was meh.

If you asked me to name one solid fact about Ellie, the main female character, I would stare you blankly. The only part I remember is when the author, clearly trying to set up a them-versus-us, women-against-women dichotomy, describes Ellie as a tomboy, a girl who doesn't wear make up and finds it a waste of time. She then describes Ellie as "not like other girls." (To be fair, this is from Ford's beefcake point of view, so while I won't ascribe these thoughts to Adriana Locke herself [girl, I hope you know about learned misogyny by now], I will say that I wish the male protagonist wasn't such a pigheaded, misogynistic, POS. But hey, what do I know? I'm like those other girls. I put on lipstick once and I lost the ability to do anything for myself! Help, how do I use my hands when my nails are painted?) This is actually very confusing because Ellie is... starting... a fashion boutique. Like..........ok. She only wears jeans and t-shirts and is flustered by mascara, but ok, I trust her to pick me out a new afghan? Girl, no. Try again.

Anyway. I had to actually flip through the book on my Kindle to remember Ellie's name and it was while doing so that I realized the main male character's name is Ford, not Graham like I had been thinking when I started this. Oops.

These two characters are totally and utterly unremarkable. So is basically every other character. I have no idea how many brothers Ford has or what they're names are or how anyone in this weird little town tells them apart. They say all the same things and act all the same ways, but ok, I'll take your word that the Landry's are a real human family and not a beefcake, romance novel cover model cloning farm *wink wink nudge nudge*

Don't get me started on the Landry girls. Twins. Sienna and Camilla. They are distinguishable... how? Oh, that's right, Sienna is one of "those girls" (she has a fashion degree! so useless! no one needs clothes lol!) and Camilla is apparently dating someone who enjoys dive bars (listen, we've all been to college, we've been there, they're fun!) Both of these plot points are apparently Big Deals and I'm sure we'll find out more in their OWN novels. Yippee!

There is nothing totally bad about this book, but, honestly, there is nothing exactly good either. There is a lot of spoonfeeding of emotions, a lot of back-and-forth where Ellie (god, I forgot her name int he process of typing up two paragraphs, she's SO DULL) goes on these long thought monologues that made me so bored, I would almost prefer to read the chapter long description of Ellie painting the boutique AT NIGHT over and over again. There are endless descriptions of Ford's RIPPED, HOT, GIGANTIC BODAAAAAAAAAY over and over again. I'm starting to wonder about these romance novels. They have NO CONCEPT of size or proportions of the human body. Every desirable man is over 6-feet tall, has a dick the size of a baby's leg, and, despite never working out and consuming a diet of only coffee, pastries, and an occasionally referenced burger, has a body more commonly seen on the bodybuilding circuit than in actual real life. It would be nice to see some diversity here, but I'm beginning to suspect that no one really cares what I think when it comes to creating heroes that "sell" novels.

Anyway, here's to the future where I will be undoubtedly reading the first three of these novels and then... immediately wishing I hadn't, probably.

Edited to add: One last thought. This review would be remiss if I did not mention that the last chapter of the novel is potentially the soppiest, worst written chapter I've ever read, ever, in the history of me reading romance novels. I actually made gagging sounds, repeatedly, to my husband over it. When he asked what I was reading, I said, "A bunch of stupid bullshit." It's honestly so terrible. I can't believe I forgot it. Sometimes, the brain blocks out traumatic memories, clearly.

Ohhh these Landry men just sweep me off of my feet. Ford is everything I've been anticipating. He's so Landry yet so not. Growing up ensconced in expectations dictated by his last name he had to forge a path of his own. Leaving it all behind to pursue a military career he breaks the heart of the only girl he ever loved.

Ellie's found her way back to Savannah and has no idea that the boy who left her shattered years ago has returned, a man. When their paths cross and the smoldering embers reignite it's anyone's guess if either of their hearts will survive. Ford's determined to prove he left for all the right reasons Ellie's determined not to allow him back in.

This was another triumphant addition to the Landry series. Locke continues to swoon us. Deliver the feels. And let us share in the joyful events of this Landry clan. I don't know that I'll ever get enough of this family!

Sigh. Where can I find myself a Ford Landry?

I can't believe our time with these Landry boys is sort of over! I want to cry, but the ride was so fun!

Once again such a good read! I honestly feel like this series can do no wrong. Absolutely loved Ford and Ellie's story. A second chance romance with first loves. Nothing is sweeter in my opinion. Pretty low angst. It did make me cry a few times. Sad tears and happy tears. You get glimpses and updates on all your favorite Landry's and their ladies. And these updates are GOOOODDDDD!

So excited to see what is to come for the Landry sisters!

Have tissues

Darn book making me cry....I am such a sap!

The last brothers story, I think was the best. Ford is one hot piece of Yum! I liked him! Sweet and caring. He grew up and found out what he wanted and set his mind to it.

Ellie was sweet. Just like a woman to have elephant memory and not want to let go of the past. She was a tad stubborn for sure.

Great sweet read that needs tissues if you are a sap like me :)

I can't wait for Cam's story!

*ARC PROVIDED IN EXCHANGE FOR REVIEW*

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC for the 4th book in the Landry Family series by Adriana Locke, "Swear". I opened my Kindle at 5 AM just to see if my ARC had arrived. I saw that it had and opened the book up with the intention of simply skimming then going back to sleep. I didn't stop once I started. I finished the book in one sitting. 5 and a half hours later, and let me tell you... It was worth it. As always, let's break it down.

Male Lead: Ford Landry. Military. Alpha. Sweet. Charming. Need I say more? He was the perfect mix of funny, protective, caring, and cocky. I thought Ford had a long way to go to touch Graham for me on the book boyfriend scale but.... He is absolutely right on par with the other Landry men.

Female Lead: Ellie Pagan was the one that got away. She and Ford have a deep, complicated history that hurt her to the core. She's scarred, afraid, and trying to fight this magnetic pull she feels for her former love. I loved her humor and her stubborness. She blended beautifully into this series.

Steam Factor: While there weren't many steamy scenes, the ones we were given were PERFECT, and to be honest, this story didn't NEED tons of sex. The connection emotionally between the characters was so intense that the more erotic scenes were perfect as is. That's not to say that the ones present in story weren't HOT HOT HOT because they totally were.

Angst Factor: I've decided that Adriana Locke simply gets off on making her readers cry. She sits at her desk and laughs maniacally every time she writes a sad scene. This story was SO much more emotional than I expected it to be. I found myself audibly sobbing.

Overall Story: "Swear" is yet another perfect piece in the Landry Family puzzle. I laughed. I cried. I swooned. I fanned myself. I fell in love. What else could you ask for in a story?

I love the Landry family! Swear is such a sweet second chance love story! We've met Ford before in the previous books in this series of interconnected stand alones, but we didn't know much about him and his past until now. Dubbed the most "logical" brother by his sisters, Ford is probably the most down to earth of the Landry siblings, enjoying the calm and simpler pleasures in life. I loved getting to know him and felt his love story was the most realistic of all his siblings so far.

Ford and Ellie's story was sweet and beautiful. Yes, it may have taken a detour almost a decade earlier, but once they reconnect, there's no stopping the connection and chemistry between them. Young love, especially first love, is intense and can be all consuming. Ellie learns this the hard way, when her fairy tale crumbles and she's left picking up the pieces of her heart. Admittedly, Ford did not handle the situation well, but is that really so surprising for an 18 year old? So much of life is about timing, and though sad, Ford was not capable of making those kinds of decisions at that point in his life. I loved though that he realizes immediately that Ellie has been the missing piece in his life all along and refuses to back down even when she tries to push him away. There is no unnecessary drama or other love interests for either of them. It's just two people who are trying to find their way back to love and each other. I did feel that the journey was a bit predictable and that things tied up a bit too perfectly, but it didn't take away from my enjoyment of the story and characters. Ellie's father and friends were great additions and really helped the reader to get to know Ellie and what shaped her into the woman she is today. I loved the memories of her and Ford as teens, especially the story of their first meeting by the lake and the history behind his tattoo. And oh my goodness, Ford is so HOT! I thought the painting scene was smoking, but the candy scene... gasp... that almost melted my kindle! ;)

One thing I love about interconnected stand alones is checking in on characters from previous books. I always love the updates about the Landry clan, and great things definitely happen for several of the siblings in Swear. The banter and camaraderie between not only the family, but also their significant others is amazing and I always love scenes at the Farm with everyone together. The seeds were also planted for the next installment, Swink, which will be about secretive Camilla. I can't wait to find out more about her mystery man that is going to send the Landry brothers into a tizzy! Don't miss this fun and sweet romance about a second chance at love!

I love Ford!!! I even love his name... Hot sexy alpha male... Yes Please

I love this series and this author's books are just awesome. If you haven't read any of it, this series will convince you to read her books.

This story was a second chance story. Ford made a mistake when he was young and broke up with Ellie when he wanted to make something of himself and just find what he was good at.
Ellie couldn't get over it. Especially after the scare they had and then he left. So she took it as he couldn't deal with it and he left. And she felt he left her at a time when she needed him most.

Now that she's back home and opening her own business and coming face to face with Ford again, she doesn't think she can go there again with him. But Ford lost her once and he is not giving up again.

I loved how Ford didn't give up on Ellie, even when she was doubting him and their relationship, he just gave her space and just kept being there for her.

“Just how I need to remember that when storms roll in, how beautiful the rainbow is going to be.”

I loved every minute of this story. And man Camilla... I think it's the broody bartender... Can't wait to read her story.

Awesome, can't wait for more Mrs Locke

Teen love  and second chances? Definitely my type.

This is the type of book that you read after having a stressful day in order to get some happy and hopeful vibes.

Swear is my second book by this author and I loved the last one, called switch and I definitely liked this one too.

So we finally get Ford aka the sensible Landry's story....doing a happy dance!!

Image result for happy dance gif

The story introduces us to Ford Landry and Ellie Pagan. They had been childhood sweethearts but because of Ford's some dumb decisions, their relationship got tainted leading to break up and now Ford is back with a determination to get the love of his life back.

Ellie Pagan is broken. She has trust issues because of the young dumb guy aka Ford who broke her heart years ago. She does not want love or she thinks so but when Ford storms back into her life, all the feelings, love, hate, heartbreak come back too.

Image result for kiss after fight gif

Ford is hell bent on getting Ellie back and make her fall in love with him all over again but Ellie is too stubborn to let it happen but she soon finds herself getting all soft and swoony over Ford.

I loved both Ellie and Ford. They were perfect for each other. I loved Ford's determination of getting Ellie back and I loved how reasonable Ellie was about everything. She wasn't like most of the heartbroken irritating and frustrating heroines.

I wanted more of Ford and Ellie but I thinks there was too much of the Landry Family involved in this book. It's not that I don't like to see the family bond but I wanted to explore the bond between Ellie and Ford more than the family.

Image result for shrug gif

I had great expectations from this one but something about the book was a bit off. There was no innovation and the plot was quite simple too. But this doesn't mean that I didn't like it. I liked it well and I totally recommend reading this!!

“Just how I need to remember that when storms roll in, how beautiful the rainbow is going to be.”

Hands down, this has been by far one of THE BEST family series I've ever read. Adriana Locke has managed to get me so incredibly attached to this family, it's not even funny. Because until now—and who knows, maybe 'til forever—I still have that deep yearning to be a Landry. The way she laid out and shared a perfectly imperfect, yet happy, contented and very tight knit family full of respect, loyalty and adoration for each member is utterly overwhelming in the most wonderful way possible. They all have me wrapped around their long, very capable and gorgeous—might I add—fingers. Each and every single one of them has me addicted. It really was a hook, line and sinker for me from the very first book, Sway. I mean, here I am, sitting and thinking I'm ready to commit a crime, getting into a polygamous relationship with these Landry brothers!

And I think, Ms. Locke just saved us the best brother for last. Because Ford Landry truly is the definition of almighty swoon-worthy. He has one of the biggest, softest golden hearts ever. The sweetest, most gentle alpha a reader like me could ever ask for. He's also probably the realest, most not-out-of-reach out of the Landrys. Yes, just like his other siblings, Ford was born with a silver spoon, but he loved his simple life. He embraced it fully. His pad was more comfy than swanky. He'd rather eat at home and order take out than dine in some luxurious restaurant. And he'd rather spend quality time with you, cuddling up in bed or going to the lake and fish, than go out to some elegant night out or something. You know, the little things.

Ford Landry was TO DIE FOR. I really thought Graham was it for me. But nope, apparently someone got ahead of him by a hair's breadth. Throughout this entire book, my heart was so full of love and happiness, beating wildly in my chest because of THIS MAN. His solid determination to get the love of his life back and earn that second chance with her melted me and heated all of my insides. You'll just see and feel how much he really wanted that chance to prove that he has grown and left his young, dumb self a long time ago. And that this time around, he was in for the long haul.

Ellie Pagan's character was relatable and just as intriguing and very entertaining as Ford's. She had trust issues the size of Texas as she had her heart broken years ago by the only man she has ever loved. The man who was her first everything. But damn was it salvaged, repaired and now treasured by that very same man. I loved Ellie's courage, despite everything else going on in her life, and her drive to pursue her dreams no matter what happened. She was scared and held back a bit, but sometimes, don't we all? Her vulnerabilities actually just made her all the more real to me. And it was entirely riveting seeing her fit in, belong and get accepted into this family.

I don't think I'll ever get over the kind of unbreakable bond these Landry siblings have. Ever. They never fail to melt my heart and make me appreciate the value of family. In Swear, all that just got highlighted and magnified even more. That dynamic they have will never get old. It will always make me want to go back, even for just a bit. It was the perfect blend of tender, sassy, funny and treasured moments all over.

This tale of a second chance at love will not only make your heart soar and burst with all the swoony feels, but will instill in your soul that after every storm, there always will be a beautiful rainbow waiting for you to find. It's just a matter of patience and longing for that perfect moment to arrive. And Adriana Locke nailed all of that in this book, and then some.

Swoon
/swuːn/
verb
1. be overcome with admiration, adoration, or other strong emotion.

Synonym: Ford Landry

descriptionHe’s Ford. He was my first love, my first everything, to be honest.

A love that spans a decade, Swear is built on the memories of the shared past which were filled with love, laughter, special moments and a heartbreak that two people who never got over it.

A second chance romance, I especially loved how Locke wrote this without the typical tried and tested methods. Ford and Ellie are fully developed characters individually, two wholes if you may, and when they are out together, they create something that is so uniquely them. They are at that point in their relationship that the other Landry boys will take years in reaching. It is not "young love", it is a love that, even though was on the back burner in both their lives, has festered over the years and only grown in leaps and bounds.

descriptionI love you,” I whisper to him, my hand finding the side of his face.
“I’ll love you for the rest of my life.” He grins.
“Pinky swear?”
“Pinky swear.”

Since the inception of the Landry Family Series, Adriana has given us characters that I have loved whole-heartedly. Sure I love some more than others but I love them all something fierce. What can I say? Each of them is special in their own ways, you just can't help it.

It has been fun to dive back into the Landry family because this bunch, even though so different, gel so well with each other and are so tight-knit and are a force to be reckoned with, and it is a pleasure to see them all come together as one.

Bringing in all the elements — a love that spans a decade, wit, banter, family, understanding, and togetherness — and combining them makes Swear is the perfect light read. On top of that, I loved how Locke brought together all the four — Barrett, Lincoln, Graham, and Ford — love stories together and wrapped them up with pretty little bows, leaving room for the two youngest Landry siblings to be explored and find their true loves and Happily- Ever- Afters.

4 Stars!

Ellie and Ford....Every book I think has my favourite couple! But these two, uhhhh, I love them! Love them! I cried so hard with this one! AL has a tendency to do that to me with her writing. She kills me! This book was more touching then the others in this series. This book was about second chances and not letting go. It was about trying even when you think you can't or when you are just plain scared. This story was no less than perfect.

I don't even feel like writing a review here, it's more or less the same old same old from the previous books in this series.

It was also simply the matter of nonexistent sexual tension. It was a second chance romance but I didn't feel the romance at all. I didn't get invested, I didn't care for the characters or them getting together 😴

Trigger warning: minor character death / death of a loved one, cancer (heroine's father dies of cancer)

Another Landry hit! I love love love love these Landry boys.

It's hard to read about these boys at a slow pace. I'm constantly flipping pages, and it's darn near impossible to put one of these down. The thing I love most about this series (aside from the alpha hot guys) is that Adriana Locke does not mess around with unnecessary angst. I loved this one, but I felt the end was a bit rushed and tied up a bit too soon. Overall, a Landry WIN!

:swoony sigh: Another day, another Landry, another reason to be happy. Adriana Locke continues to tantalize readers with the sweetest Landry so far. Prepare your hearts because that’s where this book will slay.

Losing him almost made me lose me.

Ford Landry thought it was fine that he was the only male Landry who’s not hit by the love craze. But when an old flame was brought up in his tracks, he’s reminded again by how much he loved being crazy in love. To one person in particular. Ugh. It’s impossible not to include a gmoan (groan+moan) on this review because Ford Landry is as sweet and mushy as he is courageous and possessive. I love how self-assured Ford was but still considerate of others. He’s the sweetest Landry for me and also the most logical. ;)

She’s mine because as much as she belongs with me, I belong with her.

Ellie Pagan spent years building herself to be the strong woman that she was. But it only took one sight of her first love to topple down her defenses. Ellie was a bit of a vulnerable character but man, could she reign it in. She was stubborn but sweet, dedicated, and so hardworking. She had trust issues but were justified by her past and her story really did a number on my heart.

I absolutely devoured the attraction between Ford and Ellie! Despite the years they were apart, Adriana Locke deliciously established the connection and it just seeps on every page. It was fun and sweet to watch Ellie fight the attraction. Ford was just a force to be reckoned with. That man loved like he was waging and winning a war.

Swear was an absolute treat to the heart. There was just so much warmth, love, and hope in this book. Although the conflict was lighter than usual, Adriana Locke still managed to stir emotions and made me cry. These Landrys, I don’t ever think I could get enough of them.

I wanted to find out about this hype caused by the Landry brothers, and I was not disappointed. Additionally, I love second chance stories, especially if they involve high school sweethearts. Ford Landry and Ellie Pagan’s story was sweet. Adriana Locke has a knack for making you swoon, sigh and even cry at times, with her well-thought-out plot and engaging characters.

Ford Landry is back in his hometown to live close to his family and work with them. The Landry are a close-knit group and always have each other’s back. When he joined the military, Ford not only left his privileged life behind, but also his high school sweetheart, Ellie. They haven’t seen each other for a decade, but his feelings for her are unchanged. He intends to win her over, but he has his work cut out for him! Ellie is feisty, blunt and independent, she holds no punches. She is scared of putting everything on the line for someone who can’t be trusted. Although she is ready to settle down with a family of her own, she is afraid a relationship with Ford remains a pipe dream. Ford is ready to give her breathing room, but also ensures that she gives in to him.

This book grabs you from the first page, with characters that are believable and easy to love. It’s a light and delightful read that completely makes you sigh for the feel good vibe of Ford and Ellie’s second chance story. They are supported by a cast of secondary characters, who add depth and warmth to the story. I’m definitely intrigued by the Landry siblings and will definitely read more about them!
