The Comeback: A Novella of the Strange

Rate this book
Shakey Silvers came back from the dead. He brought his bucket list.

Doug Kennedy is a stand-up comic struggling with his career, with his girlfriend, and with the bottle. Desperate for money, he takes a gig at a remote casino located in “the exact-middle-of-nowhere”, Nevada. Doug thought that his act dying on stage was the worst he’d have to fear in the desert. He was dead wrong.

Doug was in for a hell of a ride.

Filled with eccentric characters, twists and turns, and strange, horrific situations, The Comeback is a fast-paced descent into nightmare that won’t let you sleep.

I Had No Idea What I Was Getting Into

How apropos that I poured a Scotch on a very rainy night to read these chapters. Remember writing an essay for a creative writing class and knowing it was good? And having your grade finally reflect you as writer? Well imagine if you kept going and wrote something that was better and more than just your professor should read. The Comeback is blatant, a little brutal, very honest, sharp when the characters brains are fuzzy and will propel you right to the final sentence. Read it. Enjoy it. Hope for more from this author.

Good and Strange

Thoroughly enjoyed this book! The story was interesting, love a crazy man like Shakey, and the style of writing was highly descriptive, which kept my attention.
