I enjoyed all the break-downs and interviews in this first edition, It allowed me to become interactive and try some of the techniques there. Also it makes me excited for some of the artist's projects to come (Randy Bishop's Monomyth!). I only have to nit-pick that in some of the pieces (the octopus break-down for example) the mention of filters and layer changes is one thing in the written steps, but as a visual orientated person I would have liked to see the hierarchy image of the Photoshop layers alongside the character and text as well throughout (only shown a few times). In those cases I was uncertain if they copied previous layers and used exclusion or luminosity on them; or left them blank and just colored on top of them in such steps. Otherwise I may be dabbling in some of these practices. I have to buckle down and try to work on that last monster project portion for myself.
