Chilling.
What is justice? What is real? What can we remember? What if our memories are not reliable? What if any sign with which we can corroborate our memories have been wiped away?
The mark of a good kungfu novel is that, after finishing it, the reader doesn't think about the kungfu, but the philosophical issues that such a fantasy universe raises. This one is good. The twist at the end is rather far-fetched, but one must keep in mind that this book is part of a series, and that, I think, is what makes it really chilling. Fear, violence, whitewashing, is always around us.
