"While each one of us has our own unique grief, there are common themes within the variety of human responses to death. We may find in the sharing of another's grief words that offer true comfort, images that help us come to terms with our loss, or advice that makes our own grief easier to bear."

So it has been for me with this volume, thoughtfully gifted to me by my psychotherapist. Not every entry resonated with me but nor did I expect them to, and there were many that did. Some passages matched my feelings very closely indeed, while others offered a fresh perspective. Both have been of great value. This is a volume to which I will return, and am very glad to have on my shelf.
