The retelling of The Three Billy Goats Gruff by Violet Findley is a simple retelling of the story. The pictures are cute and the wording simple. It is too small to read to a group of children and share pictures but good for reading to one child. Some people would object to the Billy Goat knocking the Troll off the bridge as a bad example for children. My grandchildren liked the story and often asked me to read it and then read it by alone when they learned to read.
