Omg! Just finished the ghost and the leprechaun by Bobbie Holmes. Love love love love this book!. The ghost and the leprechaun is the 12th book in the haunting Danielle. I'm really enjoying this series. But this book is probably my favorite! In this book Danielle good coins went missing out of her safety deposite box. With no evidence it appears that she stole her own gold coins. However she has evidence that a leprechaun may have stolen the coins. Raiting: 5 stars 🌟
Poor Danielle; she just can't stay out of trouble, despite doing nothing to encourage it! I really enjoy these books; yes, they're light, fluffy reads and aren't going to win any literary prizes, but they're fun and keep me entertained. I like the characters (even the g-men!) and their interactions.
This series has a wonderful ghost as all as a few not do wonderful ones with a touch of romance. Bobbi Holmes writes this series with a lot of mystery and love. Its kind of like a soap opera on the pages and everyone could be a continuation of the last. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series already.
This book lost a star, because I was very disappointed when the main character told her best friend that it was her belief that people with mental illness have trouble moving on, or seeing the light. In my own humble opinion, I don’t think that was a very nice thing to say about anyone who suffers from a mental illness. I’m choosing to ignore the sentence and continue on with the book as I have had no complaints thus far and this was the 12th book in this series. I’ve enjoyed every one.
This was a fun little mystery. The ghosts were my favorite characters. Especially Walt! He comments about the guests cracked me up. The FBI agents seemed very cocky so I enjoyed their confusion about their case. Overall, not a bad story. I would read more of this series (yeah, I started at 12-nothing out of the ordinary here).
One mystery was tied up but I'm not happy with Danielle and her hang up on Walt causing issues with her relationship with Chris...Danielle may be book smart but she has zero common sense. Her friendship with Walt is beautiful, but having more than friendship feelings for him is starting to irritate me. I keep reading for the mystery and that everyone in the town seems to be hiding something but I'm struggling with the relationship part more and more with each book.
UPDATE: Just finished the last 5 minutes of the book and Walt seems to be the voice of reason and restored my faith a little in that relationship.
Keeping up with my audio listening of this series. I thought this book was a little harder to follow and actually had a few dead spots in there. Sometimes there are so many characters involved that it takes me a minute to remember who is who. But over all still a great easy listening ghost story!
This was probably my least favourite out of the series and at one point I couldn't really hear my audiobook to outdoor noise but didn't feel concerned that I was missing a chunk of the book. Disattachment much? I still plan to read the rest of the series.
I enjoy the way that the mystery bit of the series has been unraveling! However, I am SO SICK of Walt saying Daniel should be happy, and at the same time, kissing her all the time. And lort, I’m sick of Danielle putting that energy into Walt instead of a living Chris. It’s just cringy to me!

I liked the family history coming up for Walt Marlow. Furthermore, it is really nice that the characters still develop further and interact more and morewith each other.
4 Stars... Are leprechauns real??? Danielle must discover the truth before past wrongs shatter her future... Many paths cross all leading to Marlowe House and the mystery of the Lost Thorndike necklace... Thieves are a plenty and deception is afoot in this all out "who dun it" mystery... But will the truth be told or will the victims be silenced once again? I love walking through these mysteries with this eclectic cast of characters and watching as more of the past comes to light:)
So if you believe in the presence of spirits or ghosts, is it that far a stretch to think that there are leprechauns? Well, someone, or something, has taken Danielle Boatman's gold coins from her safe deposit box, and now the town is on edge that their valuables aren't safe, causing people to remove them from the bank, which tempts the thieves of Frederickport to start stealing whatever they want.
This book took off in a little bit different direction. How does Danielle continue to attract so much legal trouble? Evidentially inheriting a ton of wealth isn't quite as much fun as I fantasize. It's just as well that no one has responded to my ads to become a Professional Inheritor.
I love the Haunting Danielle books, truly. I am devouring them and they make my work a lot faster (I listen to them at my desk at work). However, this one has left me pretty annoyed. And it has nothing to do with the mystery in it. Instead, I’m left here scratching my head at this whole Danielle and Walt thing? Like...what is this even?
Another great book in the Haunting Danielle series. This one started weird for me though and I had a really hard time wrapping my head around the leprechaun angle. Had to think it through for a couple weeks before I could go back to finish up the book. Glad I did.
I love this series, I loved the confusion of the 2 FBI men & how Walt took care of the jewel thieves. Its clear Danielles in love with Walt but what about Chris? Love all the characters, the chief & his son etc
This was a cute read but I like the first book a bit more. I love that Walter is still around and helping although I'm surprised for a ghost it took him so long to realize that some of the people staying at the house weren't there for the right reasons. I get he's prim and proper and wants to give people their space and privacy, but not like they were exactly discreet. The Leprechaun was a cool concept but you don't get any resolution on the nurse in the graveyard? Does she know she's dead? Will she? I love the return characters and the ending was very satisfying. Love when the criminal gets theirs in the end. Will definitely keep reading the series at my own pace since I have about 10 to get through 😂 this was an adorable March/St. Patrick's Day type book
I'd have rated this book higher except that the author has Danielle blow off Chris in this one. I am so disappointed & frustrated that the author has chosen to have Danielle ignore men who are actually alive to have a future with in favor of a ghost. It's the dumbest story line in the series and I absolutely hate it. I've never been a great fan of the character of Danielle but this book had her beyond stupid - she doesn't insure $1M worth of gold coins, acts like it's nothing at all that they're stolen, and then blows off a great guy who's interested in her for a ghost. She's a complete moron and the books in the series are so much better when Danielle is a minor part of the story taking a back seat to the mystery.
