I think Chris paid Tank’s lawyer to not put much effort into her case. How was she paying a high priced lawyer & he’s not properly doing what was in her best interest to help her case. First her attorney left the precinct before he made sure she understood her charges & the paperwork that needed to be signed. Then not meeting with Tank before court, to go over the plea deal that the prosecutor had put on the table. Then advising her to sign that outlandish plea deal. Not to mention Chris going m.i.a. for the whole four years. I understand him not visiting Tank because of his celebrity & pending divorce, but he could have sent letters through his or her attorney, put some money on her books … something! If I was Tank I wouldn’t trust a soul after I was released. Too many shady people in her circle. And wtf is Tank’s other best friend Nik at??? Looking forward to book 2.
No Way Out: Memoirs of a Hustla's Girl by Latoya Nicole Williams is a wonderful and interesting read. This is my first time reading from this author. This author did a amazing and excellent job. The storyline is on point. This book is learning experience and dealing with physical, mental, verbal, emotional and spiritual.
Tank is a example of No Way Out: Memoirs of a Hustla's Girl. She has been through lot in this book. I don't no comment to say to Na Na because Na Na is straight grimy and thot. Nikki is a good friend to Tank.
I can't wait to read part 2 of this book. I want to read more books from this author.
Tank was dealt one bad hand after another. Na Na took betrayal to all new heights and Trump wasn't even a surprise. I am curious if that's what Nik may have seen and why she couldn't get along with Na Na. Tank suffered so much dealing with Trump and I couldn't feel bad for how things ended for him. Really Chris? I knew he was hiding something but I didn't expect everything that was revealed. One bad situation after the next drastically changed Tanks life. I'm so glad things worked out in her favor once she got a better lawyer but I'm hoping with that ending she doesn't mess things up yet again.
This book was so good. Once I started reading it I couldn't put it down. I can't believe what NA NA and Trump did to Tank. I can't stand them two. I was most shocked about the end. Now that's a cliffhanger wow. Can't wait to read part 2. Great job Latoya Nicole.
This story was amazing. This really makes you sit down and think about life. But I’m so glad that she killed Trump. Now Chris wife would have to see me because that heffa was super rude.
Lashay Wright, also known as Tank, had been dealt a bad hand. She absolutely loved her family, and her closest friends, Nana, Nik, Janay, and Tina. Tank was with a man that was beating her just because he felt like it. Tank needed a way out, and that's the only reason she stayed with Trump. Having a girl's night out, Tank ended up meeting Chris, who rocked her world, but due to his profession and his secrets, Chris couldn't give Tank the time she needed or wanted, because he bad his own secrets.
Nana was the closest thing to her, she was more than just her best friend, more like a sister, but all of a sudden she started to act different, and it was because Nana was being shady. Tank knew that something was different about her friend, but she didn't know what. Due to having her own issues, Tank decided to let it go. After finding out she was pregnant, her first priority was to leave her abusive boyfriend Trump, before he killed her, and/or the baby. After a broken heart from Chris, she went to her bestie Nana, and recieved the surprise of her life, that changed her life forever.
Have you had the chance to pick up a book and judged it by its cover? Well I did that! I judged the book by its cover before I even could have read it! Once I picked the book and started reading it. I must admit it shocked me to see that it was really good! Tank went through so much at the age of nineteen years old. To go through so much at an early age, Lil mama reached her breaking point. To find out her friend betrayed her in the worst way that was possible, Young Tank did something that changed her life! I must admit she's a strong woman to go through what she went through, as much as I want to tell the story, I won't. Just pick it up and read. I promise you, you won't regret it. Good Job Latoya Nicole on your debut. Can't wait to read part 2 ❤
Tank is raised in the street of Chicago where the hood and strength is what you need to make it in these mean in streets. As Tank lives life she realizes that its more to life than the one she is living so she makes a plan to get far away as possible only problem is her abusive boyfriend wont let her leave. When it all comes down to it she will be in the fight for her life.
I must say when I first started this book I thought it might be you typical hood story ,but I was very wrong. As I kept on reading this story took a life and flow of its own so much so that I couldn't put this book down .
I found this series because of the Love & War Series. It moved fairly well and delivered a good amount of drama. I was not as invested in the characters as I hoped I would be. The men were extremely volatile and everyone beat on women like they were brushing their teeth. I kept thinking if Tank gets hit in the head or body-slammed one more time she's going to be paralyzed or suffer serious brain damage. This was just okay for me. I am going to read Gangsters Paradies, Phantoms story, and then the follow up the Havoc series. What I do like is the little world that the author has created.
I DID NOT LIKE ALL THE PHYSICAL & MENTAL ABUSE THAT THE FEMALES WENT THROUGH AT THE HANDS OF THE MALES IN THIS SERIES. IT WAS VERY DIFFICULT TO GET THROUGH. ONE QUESTION I HAVE THOUGH PERTAINING TO SUAVE & TANK. IF SUAVE KNEW WHAT HIS NOW WIFE TANK HAD WENT THROUGH BEFORE THEY MET, WHY DID HE PUT HER THROUGH SOME OF THE SAME VIOLENCE IN LOVE & WAR 4 AFTER SHE & PARADISE CAME THROUGH FOR HE & G AT THE HOOVERS' CRIB WHEN HE FELT THAT SHE HAD DISOBEYED HIS DIRECT ORDER NOT TO RETURN TO THE CHI & GET INVOLVED? I find it hard to call what SUAVE did to TANK 'Love'.
This book touch me in so many ways, especially since I've been to prison. It's filled with so many miserable people officers and inmates and it will break you if you let it. I'm glad Tank didn't let it break her. Latoya Nicole did an excellent job telling this story feel like I was through it all, I shed tears and all I'm ready for pt 2. Wonderful job this needs to be a movie.
As usually you never disappoint when I read your books. One of the things I love so much about your craft is the rawness.this book I really could relate to your books growing on the south side of Chicago i too was determined not to be a static not where I wanna be but not where I could've been...you a marvelous writer... Can't wait for your Christmas special....congrats again in being a bestseller
Okay so I’m going to start by saying…I’ve read other books (newer books) from this author and the growth is amazing. With that being said I didn’t really like this book. One minute her mama was on drugs, she didn’t know her dad and her granny raised her. The next she was taken by her uncle and raised until he was arrested. It was just a lot going on.. too much if I’m being honest. And so many unanswered questions. This wasn’t her best book(my opinion).
Great room although Shae had a very bad temper, she allowed everything that went on Trunk to detour her life. Finding out he was sleeping with someone very close to her heart she lost it and ended up somewhere she couldn’t have imagined. Trunk was an abuser in every way and Na Na was not true to her friends. . With all this poor Chris become caught up in this love triangle. Great read
Oh wow okay let me start by saying this is my first time reading from this author and I love it it was so real and it took you threw so many emotions and u just can relate to almost everything I loved it .... I hope Shay gets over Chris he dose not deserve her and na na need her ass beat but great Book and I look forward to reading more of your book
Honestly I thought it started kind of slow. But it picked up and once it did I couldn't out it down. Na Na was exactly what I expected and she was wrong asf! Trump lame ass got what he deserved. I knew Chris was shot from the first encounter. But I am excited to see what's about to happen.
I couldn't put this book down. I had to see how it ended. I was upset that Lashay wasn't strong enough to know when it was time to move forward. Her relationship was toxic and affected her even after the deed was done. I think she lost the love for herself while with Trump. Bout to start part 2.
This is a page turner, from beginning to the end. Na=Na was slimy as hell, how could she do that to her home girl? Trump got what his woman beater behind deserved, in part 2 I hope Lashay runs into officer AB, she deserves a happy ending!!!!!
This book made me extremely emotional! I felt like such a punk! The entire jail scene is what broke me! Tank went through so much? I hope she doesn't repeat he same mistake twice in book 2! I'm rooting for her😭😭! Chris ass needs to make an appearance like wtf! 4yrs?!?!?
I'm glad trump ass is dead... he was a grimy bastard that acted like people need to kiss the ground he walked on.. NaNa is gonna get hers because she was the one that kept calling trump letting them know what tank was Doing. Tank was looking at life in prison but shes a free woman part 2 here I come
Tank has been through a lot! Wasted time, that she couldn’t get back in life, relationship, nor relationship. I felt like that first lawyer was a bullshitter. I’m soooo glad she hired a second one that actually looked into what she was “sentenced “ for. That’s right Tank, God stepped in right on time! Now, I wonder what’s going to happen to little Miss NaNa...
This was a good read. After reading the Hoovers story and hearing about Tank, Suave, Gangsta, and Paradise, I doubles back to read their story and here we are. Tank had to endure a lot of hurt, heartache and pain but she is a survivor even when she feels all hope is loss.
This story is another banger by my new favorite author. After reading the War series, I had to see what else she had. I was sucked into this story after the first couple of pages. Tank's one of the characters from War and her story is interesting. This book is well written and keeps you wanting to learn more about Tank.
This book deserves 10 stars! My heart broke for tank and everyone that did her wrong!!! This book had excellent character and plot development! I can't wait to read part two!
Tank is a tough woman! I'm glad she got rid of that dead weight! I need some karma to come through for Na Na and Julia. I hope in the end that Tank will be able to feel real love! Definitely a banger!
Now I am usually a fan on this kind of mystery and I am use to the humor coming from this author books but I don't really know how to feel about this read it was a good story and had the drama I just don't know how to describe it
Poor Tank really got the bad end of her dealings with men. Didn't like Ţrump or Chris. They both played with her emotions and I don't like that. Nik really wasn't that bad she just didn't ride for her friend.
This book was a great read I’m mad at my self for taking so long to read Latoya Nicole on to the second installment I need to know what Tank is about to do
This was a really good book. Let’s just say that Tank went through hell and back, but the ended surprised me!! I wasn’t expecting that at all. On to part 2 cause this one ended with a cliff hanger.
