Abdul Ghafoor Majeed Noorani, known popularly as A. G. Noorani, was a Muslim scholar, lawyer and political commentator. He practised as an advocate in the Supreme Court of India and in the Bombay High Court.

I recommend this as it was the first book I read on jihad after 9/11 and was an eye opener. I think it's a must read. He gotta through the history of East/West battles all the way to modern times. It talked about what jihad is written by an Islamic scholar and the author goes back to another book called "A critical exposition of the popular jihad" by Chiragh Ali. But read this book, Islam and jihad first. It's easier and less complicated. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! 5 STARS!

If you want to know the truth about Islam and jihad written by a scholar on the matter you must read this. It's a short book but teaches what real jihad is vs terrorism. Highly recommended! He quotes mostly from A critical exposition of the popular jihad, I'm blanking on the author's name for that book. I have it somewhere around here. But this book is newer and an easier read.
