An absolutely lovely read! Rich with intrigue, historical fiction and quite a bit of steamy romance, I completely enjoyed this story and devoured it as fast as I could! The story starts out with a young lord encountering her in a garden and is overcome with desire to possess the fiery maiden. He arranges with her father to marry and takes her away to his home where he dominates her body, but never completely captures her heart. She finds solace with her handmaiden that she was allowed to bring with her and they comfort each other in various ways, ehich her husband accepts. He vows to kill any other man that touches her and definitely lives up to his word, as he is basically obsessed with possesing her body and being the only man in her life. This proves a problem when the legendary king Uther keeps envisioning her in his lust filled dreams. After the famous wizard Merlin leads Uther to her, he is overcome with desire for her and will do anything to possess her for himself, which leads to a very interesting plot of deception to make her his finally.
I was completely enraptures with this juicy little tale! I've always been a big fan of Camelot and this is a new take on the not so well known story of how Arthur came to be. Filled with some quite lusty and swoon worthy romance, I was definitely needing to turn the fan on after reading some of the scenes. The author still manages to keep a completely balanced storyline going with plenty of intrigue and adventure mixed in with the perfect amount of spiciness that satisfied all my bookish needs! A very wonderful read- but keep in mind it can get a little steamy in some spots!

This wasn't my usual read. I'm not sure what a die hard historian would make of this take on the Arthurian legends, but it certainly had lots of spice. Who knew what went on under the banqueting tables back then? I liked the idea that Uther and Igraine were meant to be together, and they had lots of sexy adventures along the way. I gave it 5 stars because it did what it promised. It was erotic and historical. A short, light, sexy read.
