Logan McKinley. My ex. I knew he was trouble from the first moment I laid eyes on him.

Fresh out of law school with a new job at one of San Diego’s biggest firms, I was supposed to focus on my career. No distractions, no men, and especially no office romances.

Then I met Logan. He was cocky, smooth-talking, and gorgeous—a hotshot associate on the fast track to a partner

Can we talk about Kivrin Wilson for a minute, please? Thank you. So here's the thing. Last year, I picked up a little debut novel called Bend, which IMMEDIATELY became one of my absolute FAVORITE books of the entire year. I fell hard and fast for Wilson's authentic characters, her beautiful storytelling and her flawless writing style. You could say I was an insta-fan. So it'll come as no surprise when I say that I've been just a smidge anxious for more of her words. But the thing with debut auth ...more

I wanted so much to like Paige & Logan's story but honestly, I felt no chemistry with the main characters and there was so much bickering throughout the entire story that it gave me a mega headache!
You have a Hero with mama & abandonment issues, and a kiss-ass mentality in the work front because he has a need/ambition to become a partner. He stood by not saying anything when his boss said something derogatory about his own wife! That was a loathsome act that I could not recover from because if s

Holy moly - talk about a roller coaster ride. This marriage was about to be sucked down the drain. And mercy what messes, secrets and troubles lay below the surface. I had this one pictured one way and it flipped me on my rear end when it totally went the other way. If you're all about the angst, hot chemistry and no holds barred sex, then this one's for you.

The author's writing is spot on, and the only minor slip for me was that it got a little repetitious and drawn out in my opinion. And the
I thought Bend was an excellent debut, so I expected a riveting, emotional second-chance story for Paige and Logan. I didn't expect to wind up struggling to finish it.

I disliked Paige from the outset, but that's what character development is for...right? Not so much. . She was by turns an arrogant cold fish or spiteful harridan, but no matter which, she loved to play victim. It took two to fuck up their marriage, but I don't know that she owned her side of it. Also, I felt like she resented her

Mend is one of those books that rip me apart. Seriously. I have no idea how to rate this book and how to write my review. This is going to be a tough one. Mixed feelings toward a book are always hard to put into words. But I try.

Mend was my first book by Kivrin Wilson and I was intrigued by the blurb and this beautiful cover. The first thing I noticed was Kivrin's very rich writing style. I love how descriptiv

I enjoyed this one. Angsty, interesting. Good writing. Really good writing. However, it was a little drawn out. This couple is very dysfunctional and they argued the ENTIRE book! I wished for more “soft” moments, parts where I felt like I could breathe and connect to them as a couple. I never quite got them. There was an emotional disconnect for me because every interaction they had was so volatile. It was like this constant angst HIGH that you could never get off. It began to feel tedious and o ...more

Paige Waters and Logan McKinley have been married for about a decade with 3 kids between them, and their marriage has reached a critical mass point where they are now currently separated, in the process of divorcing. Between a criminal law attorney and a family law attorney, it shouldn't be that difficult to figure out and finalize the details, but it is. Paige and Logan are both extremely stubborn, competitive, rise-to-the-challenge and don't-back-down-at-any-cost type of people. Not to mention ...more

This one will definitely be one of my faves of 2018. I absolutely love this author’s writing. Logan and Paige’s love story was full of angst and raw emotion. Definitely recommend this one!

3.5 stars I didn’t like this as much as book 1 but I still thought it was good. There is a lot of detail and I just didn’t need all of it. That being said they had fleshed out characters with back stories that fit where they were and why their marriage had failed. I love a second chance romance but for whatever reason and I think it was because they liked it a little rough I didn’t feel the love so much when they recommenced their sexual relationship. I’m not even sure if there was chemistry... ...more

OMG, this was such an amazing story I don’t even know where to start nor how to end it.

Kivrin Wilson totally KILLED IT with this one!
Without any doubt in my mind this is her best work so far, she outdid herself.
Like smashing it from the prologue to the epilogue!

Mend by Kivrin Wilson is a complex and emotional read. Their story was so genuine, so real. I could feel the pain coming thru the pages and in the characters words. I was dying to read Paige and Logan's story after reading the end of Bend and seeing the pain Paige was in. Paige and Logan had the perfect relationship, everything was going well and then…well..Life is what happened. No one else was in the picture , no other drama . I could understand why Logan doesn’t get why his wife has filed for

I won an advanced reader's copy of this book and I was thrilled to do so.
I loved Bend and couldn't wait for Paige's story. I got so much more than I bargained for!
I'll be honest, it took me a while to warm up to Paige. Without knowing the full story, I felt Logan's pain and questioned why on earth is she doing this to him. Once the full truth came out I cried some tears for the two of them, for their kids, for their lost family.

I had pretty high expectations going into this one because I loved Bend so much.....and I tell ya what, Kivrin Wilson didn't disappoint!! I was hooked from the prologue and didn't want to put it down. I really felt a connection with the characters and all of the struggles they are dealing with. I like a story that is so real and relatable.

I'm a demanding reader. There are times I feel the need to apologize to authors for demanding so much from them in a story. I know what I'm reading is fiction, I know the characters aren't real, but in contemporary romance, I want stories and characters grounded in reality. I want to care about what they care about, feel what they feel, understand their world and why it matters. I want to be pulled so far into their lives I can forget about mine for a few hours, but in the end, feel hope for us ...more

This one spoke to me, mostly for its originality. Add in the fact it was well written—I really started to connect to these complex, and sometimes elusive characters. I really didn’t start to “bond” with Paige’s character, until a significant way through the book. The way she started showing her vulnerability toward Logan, made me empathize with her all the more. I liked Logan, and didn’t quite understand the impasse between these two until much later in the book. Th

I can’t tell if Mend is the best self-help book for a person facing a divorce or the absolute worst. That’s what I’m left thinking now that I have finished it. Because should you always fight for your marriage or your significant other as this book suggests? Not that I am an expert on the subject considering I’m not married, but I feel like some marriages are worth to struggle and fight for and some are not. Not that this technically is a self-help kind of story or anyone having a difficult marr ...more

Kivrin, you mentioned you struggled with this story about Paige and Logan, the second in your Waters series. We had very intriguing peaks into Paige and Logan’s rocky marriage and uncomfortable chemistry in Bend, the story about Paige’s younger sister. I had great expectations based on how wonderful Bend was. I imagine writing about a disintegrated marriage is quite hard. I mean, this is the romance genre so I assume the romance is pretty dead when a couple separates. But this is one of the most ...more

This is a difficult book for me to rate. This is my first Kivrin Wilson book, and I've really liked it. I love her writing style, and I've loved the story. I wouldn't call this a romance, though.

Paige and Logan are two lawyers that met while they worked at the same law firm, and have been married for about ten years with three kids in common. We learn that something happened before Elliott, the youngest kid was born, and it caused them to split. We follow their separate paths from both POV, and

This was a fantastic, moving, second chance romance!

"From the moment I became aware of his existence, I knew in my gut that he could cause me grief. I was right."

When Paige Waters left her husband, Logan McKinley, she felt a measure of relief. However, one year on and they are still married and haven't resolved their legal issues. When they are thrown together on a case, Logan decides to try and break their stalemate and resolves to win her back, but there's too much history between them, and to

Mend is the second stand-alone book in the "Waters" series & there was some hesitation before I could commit to reading the story about Mia's sister. I was doubtful that Paige would hold my interest, well...I was wrong.
Paige & Logan, together/married for about ten years with three children, are both attorneys, head-strong, very intelligent people who would more likely agree to lose a limb than admit to being wrong, at anything.
Logan, the golden boy at the company firm, works very late hours & c

I received an advanced copy from the author.

Fabulous! It took me a little while to warm up to Paige - she wasn't my favorite character in book 1 and it took a bit before I really got to know and understand her. Kivrin Wilson has a way of making you fall completely in love with her characters. Mend is about Paige and Logan's story, which was foreshadowed in the first book. A word of warning - if you haven't read book 1 (Bend), be cautious. This is a continuation a few years in the future and does

So much wasted potential. So much.
It could have been such a great book. It could have been more sad, heartbreaking, sexy, groveling than it already was. For 800 pages this book served nothing. It is making me so sad cause it could have been such a good story.
