Volume two follows our leads, Lily, now a handmaiden, and her lordling Ashikaga. Lily and Ashikaga navigate the obstacles of the Emperors court while keeping Ashikaga's secret safe. As a family ghost threatens, Lily turns to an old enemy for answers. An enemy with a new face and a new agenda. I enjoyed the dynamic between Lily and the other handmaidens as much as between Lily and her lordling.
