The best of this type of book I've come across. Thick with writings on paracinema and fandom and so forth. "The Cult Film Reader", I'm guessing, is an undergrad text book, so I was able to understand it. Mind you, I barely got through high school and never was an undergrad.

B-movie obsessives, trash film fanatics, and paracinema adventurers: This is your new bible. A huge collection of writings on cult film and its audiences, including key writings such as Pierre Bourdieu's introduction to "Distinction," Susan Sontag's "Notes on Camp," Jeffrey Sconce's "Trashing the Academy," along with excellent writings on a wide array of subjects by Umberto Eco, Eric Schaefer, J. Hoberman, Tom Mes, Annalee Newitz, Jonathan Rosenbaum and an army of others. Absolutely essential for any serious student of cult film.

Wonderful compendium of essays on and relating to cult film, including such classics as Sontag's "Notes on Camp" and Benjamin's "Work of Art in the Age of Mechanical Reproduction."

Reading this for my course on cult cinema. Interesting book. Fairly accessible for an academic text.
