This is the first time that Archie appears to a human being in the guise of a dog, the safe and predictable companion we've all come to love. Wildly illogical at first, Shelton Landon comes to accept Archie and his own strange foray into Archie's exquisite world, primarily because he's too confused to reject the animal who he thinks is a dog but who resembles a wolf.

I enjoyed this book, most particularly because it abounds in lovable characters – both canine and human. Given the amiability of characters, their frequently predictable banter (mostly between the human characters, but watch out for the talking Wolf – he will not disappoint you), becomes enjoyable rather than irritating.
The first part of the book is a lot of the same: Shelton, the protagonist, having learned that he has terminal illness and is given 90 days to live, eats, sleeps, watches TV. He

Last 90 Days is a wonderful work, from the opening and delightful metaphor on through the story. The novel is both creative and well crafted. The main character is both interesting and full bodied (and full of curious surprises). The story pulled me in quickly (I'm somewhat of a book thrower, but not with this one). I admire how the title nicely frames the story and enjoyed the author's wise and witty development of suspense). Well done!

Sometimes a person has to be faced with a crisis before they will allow change in their lives. Such is the case with Shelton who is told that he has but 90 days left to live. In his deep depression (darkness before the light?) he experiences a moment of extreme surprise and revelation: he may be dying but the life that's left in him can give renewed life to others. With the constant help and guidance of the universe (Ethos is the abstract, a wolf in the flesh) he gets to live again, with fresh e ...more

This is,a hard book to review. The writing and plot good. The sentences flow freely and it is a fast read. It is the closest to a paranormal but of lot of it a a fantasy. This is the first book of the Archie Trilogy. Shelton Landon is given 90 days to live due to inoperable brain tumor. Depression set in and falls asleep in the park. Durning his sleep is hand touches a brow leaf and turns it green as he is given the gift of healing. On one of his trips he meets a strange wolf who is called Archi ...more

    An excellent story.

If you enjoy the Metaphysical genre, then you will enjoy Last 90 Days. The main characters are colorful and believable; and if you love dogs, you will certainly love the three adorable ones that play a pivotal part in helping Shelton as he tries to live life to the fullest for the time he has left. I gave it 3 stars because although I'm not a fan of this genre, I believe those who are will really enjoy it. The writer did a good job in creating this story.

I enjoyed the story and the message behind it. The dialog and pacing are a bit erratic.

It wasn't until I returned from a year-long, solo driving trip around the United States that I wrote my first book, a personal memoir that I haven't as yet published. Thoroughly enjoying the experience of writing, I spontaneously wrote my first mystery novel. The experience was so 'novel', the characters so willing to tell their own story, that I never stopped writing. Twenty books and seventeen y ...more
