Man from Lordsburg

Age discoloring and some random smugging. If not for all the prices on front cover this book could be listed as "good". Smugging on back cover and corner creasing. Front cover also has a bend along the spine edge and spine has a little smugging. No marks inside and intact. Ships very quickly and packaged carefully!

James Reasoner wrote about Perter McCurtin first book in the Lassiter series the following: "McCurtin is one of those writers whose prose is almost unmistakable. He has a distinctive style that is crude, profane, and violent, but it’s also very effective in moving the story along". After finishing my third book in the McCurtin Lassiter run, I could not agree more. The Man from Lordsburg is as good as the first two books, with a direct writing style, visceral action and furious pacing. I highly recommend that you read the book and that you track down more stuff from Peter McCurtin.

A rowdy read of Lassiter. I thought that character was from the The Riders of the Purple Sage by Zane Grey, but I could be wrong. This character is very much like Parker by Richard Stark only in the West. A robbery, set up, ambush and revenge all in a short novel of 140. I really enjoyed the book and was very surprised at the way the story got started off with a bang and kept up the interest.
