I think many people can relate to Rachel, myself included. Her best friend, Jasmine, is the latest to find her one true love while Rachel's still very much #TeamSingle. Her heart's been broken, she's become jaded, and is now looking for something with no-strings attached. Where better to find what she's seeking than to use the dating app, Shifter?

This Kitten's Got Curves is my favorite so far in the Shifter Date series. I just knew I would love Gareth from the first moment I met him. He knew what he wanted and wasn't afraid to go after it. He needs a mate before his thirty-fifth birthday and after so many dating failures he decided to give the Shifter Date App a go. Rachel who also made an account on the App, is only only looking for fun with no strings attached. She wanted casual sex and he wanted to court her.
They were such an amazing match. The moment they see each other's profile photo on the App they both feel this animal attraction. My Ereader was on FIRE! Gareth was such an alpha male and I couldn't get enough of his alpha ways. Rachel is an independent woman and isn't used to alpha males. But boy did she love the way Gareth acted.
Even though this was a short read, it didn't take away from how much I enjoyed this book. Just like with the previous two books, the author added an element of suspense to add an extra later to the story. The writing really flows and that makes it really easy and pleasant to read. I am really hoping that there will be a full-length novel in this series. Also the bonus epilogue was a great addition to the story. I am looking forward to the next book.

This Kitten’s Got Curves is the third book in the Shifter Date series, and I found it to be just as delightful as the two prior books.
If the truth is to be known, I was rather shocked by this third book. Not because of the story – it was everything I had hoped for – but because it was released so soon. Three books in the space of a month – I was not expecting to be so lucky! I’d been of the belief that I would be waiting longer to see what would come next, meaning I was a very happy reader when I got my hands on this one. Despite telling myself to wait a short while, to finish other books, the little voice in my head telling me to start this instantly won out. As soon as This Kitten’s Got Curves was on my Kindle I started reading, completing it in one sitting.
In my opinion, book three is the steamiest book thus far. Book two was hot, but this one is much hotter. Personally, I’ve enjoyed the relationship in book two the most – but this one certainly holds the trophy for being the sexiest.
In the first book, we were introduced to the shifter world through a lion. In the second book, we got to see the world through a wolf. In this third book, we get to see the shifter world through the eyes of a bear. Throughout all three books the lions have been present, but this time we get an in-depth look at a different kind of pack. The way in which the bear pack works, the rules and regulations, is different to that shown to us in the prior books, and I really enjoyed watching the world come alive. Truthfully, I’m hopeful for more bear stories in the future (I’m looking at a particular female character here, not to name names) as I really enjoyed the glimpse of how the pack worked and would love to see more.
What I really enjoyed about this one was the extension of the non-romance drama. I certainly enjoyed the romance drama (which I will come back to in a minute), but the non-romance drama certainly pulled me in. From the very first book, we’ve known about Power Shift. Whilst we still don’t know that much about them, we get to see how Power Shift is expanding throughout time. As this book takes place a while after book two, we’ve reached a point where Power Shift is affecting more than just the lion pack. I have some theories about where the Power Shift story will go, some hopes for what I would like to see, but other than that we’re still in the dark for the most part. I’m certainly curious as to what comes next though, eager for something big to happen.
Back to the romance drama, though. It was such fun. We get to see two people looking for very different things come together, the tension from the start wonderful. There was chemistry from the get-go, and whilst I’m not a fan of instalove I couldn’t help but find myself pulled into the story. The way the two complement each other, the way their time together plays out – I couldn’t help but enjoy it. It was so damn hot. Even the sex free moments were hot, the tension and lust between the two screaming out at you.
Honestly, this was such a fun read. If you enjoyed the two prior books, I’m sure you’ll love this one.

Rachel has been on a dry spell ever since her ex cheated on her. And that's why she isn't looking for a mate or relationships. But she's in need of getting laid, so she joins Shifter, the dating app, in order to find someone who will fulfill her needs, without getting attached.
Gareth is the alpha of his pack, ever since his father got murdured and it's his responsibility to find a mate and get married before he turns 35, otherwise he loses his right to remain the leader of his pack. That's how he finds himself joining Shifter, where Rachel seems to be a good match for him.
Rachel isn't looking for commitment and Gareth needs to find a mate for the rest of his life and at the same time there's danger lurking out there.
I really enjoyed this one, I love the writing style, the sex scenes were definitely scorching, but I felt that for a small length book that maybe they were too many and too frequent, therefore I didn't understand how Rachel fell for him so fast, when she was so adamant in staying away from emotions, plus there were more sex between them, than more interactions to make me understand that was how or why she fell for him. Also, I want to know more about Power Shift, hopefully there will be more information on the next one. Other than that, I enjoyed it, so if you're up for a short, sexy read with shifters, then this is your read! :)

4 Star Review Shifter Date: This Kitten’s Got Claws (Shifter Date #3) by Alma Black
Book three in the series and just as quick and enjoyable to read as the previous books in the series. Alma Black certainly has a knack for steamy paranormal story- telling, I would have to say that this is my favourite so far. Paranormal is not a genre that I read often, but I am really enjoying this series from Alma Black and I look forward to reading more from her.
Gareth, due to circumstances has been thrust into the role of Alpha of his pack and now must seek his mate prior to his looming birthday. He is a truly Alpha Bear shifter and in my opinion, totally hot. Rachel, a Lion shifter has no time for love having been badly burnt and doesn’t want a serious commitment.
This was an interesting twist, where it is the Alpha male seeking his perfect mate and the woman only wants to hook up; a refreshing change. When both decide to use the Shifter Dating application they are matched and Gareth’s inner beast immediately recognizes his soul mate. Rachel is instantly attracted to Gareth but is concerned about what he wants out of the relationship.
The chemistry between Gareth and Rachel is electrifying and certainly extremely hot to read about. As with the previous books there was some drama and danger but not to the degree of the others; perhaps that is why the book appeared hotter than the previous ones.
Will Rachel fall for the dominant Bear or will she run?
These books are all stand alones but for a deeper level of enjoyment I suggest you read these in order.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
I'll start off by saying I was slightly lost. I havent been able to read book 2. So, hopefully I can get that done so everything clicks into place. I'll probably end up coming back here to edit my review. So, this is my opinion as of now til I get the other read.
I have to admit Gareth was really a take charge big bear of hotness! He really went after what he wanted once he knew Rachel was his mate. He wasnt gonna let her go no matter what she said. Who doesnt like that in a man? Rachel isnt out to find a mate. She's been burned and doesnt want to get hurt again. She wants fun and hot sex! No strings. So, at the encouragement of her bestie she tries the app. Finds Gareth and she's very drawn to him. Their first meeting was hella sexual chemistry off the charts! However, as she spends time with him she is not so sure she wants a one night stand but perhaps more. However, she sticks to her guns and has a fling with him and cant help herself.
What I didnt like about Rachel was she was a little dishonest with Gareth. She kinda lied and told him she'd date him and give him a chance, but really was in it for the sex. I mean at this point its kind of moot because well she changed her tune and wanted him forever. Still...it grated she was dishonest and willing to chance hurting him when/if he started to fall for her and then she would cut him out and for me thats not ok. So, I had one beef with her otherwise I liked her character. Gareth was perfect in my eyes. Sweet, hot, attentive, protective...need I say more?
Power Shift really wasnt a big part of this book. A small part and I want to know much more about them. Maybe in the next book.

Alma has shifted me to the shifter side! This book was purrrfect!
The teaser for her first book said once you go shifter you never go back... and how true it is! A few things you need to know... if you don't dig alpha male, instalove or lots of sex... this book isn't for you. And that's okay.
But, if you love those things, but are hesitant to read this because it it's a shifter novel, please don't let that keep you away! Alma has a way of telling a story that I just love, I can't quite put my finger on it, but I will tell you this. She has quickly become a an auto-buy author for me. She always makes me laugh and I love the sass of the heroines and that the heroes know exactly what they want and aren't afraid to go after it.
In all of the books their is a 'forbidden' aspect, lots of inter-species dating, which I find fascinating. Plus you have the bad guy's "power shift" that are our against them. I really hope we find out more about them soon. I want the bad guys gone for good.
Pick up these books and devour them ;)

The third book in the Shifter Date series gives us Gareth, a bear shifter Alpha who's ready to find his mate and settle down, and Rachel, a strong-willed lioness, who's only interested in finding Mr. Right Now.
Both are ready to end their respective dry spells, and decide to give the Shifter Date app a try. Their profiles match and their chemistry is red hot! Gareth knows that Rachel is his mate and he's determined to convince her that they are meant for each other. Rachel can't deny the intense pull she feels toward Gareth, but she's determined to protect her heart after being burned by a previous relationship.
Watching these two work through both personal and pack issues to get to their happy ever after was a delicious treat!
I look forward to more of this series and to learn more about the antagonist group, Power Shift.

I really like this pnr series by Alma Black. She's a new author that I am so glad I found. These 2 are very sweet.
Gareth is searching for his mate and wants/needs to find her before his 35th birthday. Rachel is wanting to find a "boy toy" after finding her boyfriend with someone else, she is hesitant about an actual relationship. They both decide to try the new Dating Shifter app to try their luck. Gareth knows right away that she is his mate and their chemistry is instant. I really enjoyed their short but hot dating process. There was a little action in this book as well and they have to work together to fight against a threat.
Really good story. Short, sweet & safe....my favorite kind of book. I look forward to reading more by Alma Black.

What happens when he is the one who wants a relationship but she has been burnt and is looking for a hook up? Find out in this delicious read from Alma Black. Gareth despairs of ever finding his mate and Rachel has been burnt by the guy she has loved her entire life. Thank goodness shifters can sense their mates it may help Gareth win the fair ladies hand. This may be the best in the series to date. Can be read stand alone.

Gareth is running out of time to find his true, fated mate. If he hasn’t found his mate before his birthday anyone from his clan can challenge for his alpha position. And while he’s not worried about the challenge, there are some younger bears who have attitude and the guts to try, and he has no desire to destroy those he cares for and is their leader . His world is changing rapidly, with the recent murder of his father, and former alpha and the growing unrest put forth by the radical group Power Shift in their hatred of inter species mating. His last hope is a dating app that he really holds out little hope for, but desperate times call for decidedly desperate measures. When a photo suddenly seems to reach out and grab his heart (and other anatomy) Gareth knows he’s found his mate – now, to win her over and capture her heart as well. Easy as dipping honey from the hive… yeah, right.
Rachel was absolutely done with long term relationships. She’d learned that lesson from the cheating scumbag who was supposed to be her mate. What a loser. While she’d given up on men totally for awhile, that couldn’t last because frankly she liked men and sex too much for that to last. But why couldn’t she be as free as the men were, why couldn’t she be looking for hookups to scratch an itch and then walk away with everyone happy and no broken hearts. The Shifter Date app was perfect for her plans. No entanglements, no strings, just a really good time. Too bad that the man who caught her attention the most was the sexiest thing she’d encountered in, well ever. And he was looking for long term, oh well. But he was smart enough to really get her attention and let him court her. They are certainly steamy, but both have vulnerabilities that the other can lay to rest, if they are allowed to get close enough. When danger strikes, Gareth will have the fight of his life on his hands – and his mate will be right at his side.
If you enjoy Shifter Romance, then I believe you’d enjoy this title and this series. A good, solid story with likable characters and a wealth of secondary characters to make this world come alive. I would suggest that you read this series in order (if at all possible) for there is one main story thread woven throughout all of the books. Reading in order will bring the entire experience alive much easier – but it’s not absolutely necessary, only suggested.

Hot and spicy Bear on the menu..
Book 3 in this shifter app series and I'm still intrigued, I want to find out how the various packs are going to deal with the threat that they all face.
Each book has me invested further into the series and admittedly waiting impatiently for the next book in the series..
I would definitely recommend this book and the series to all fans of the shifter genre and paranormal romance in general

Wow! This book was great! I loved how Alma Black is driving us mad with who all is in this Shifter Power! I really would love to see all three couples we have met so far interact.
This book had me rolling constantly. Rachel's inner monolog was fantastic. And once she met her mate... Even if she did not think he was for a while kept me chuckling.
When this book starts with Gareth's story, I was completely sucked into his story. It truly captivated me. He needed a mate more than anything and was willing to try an app to find his one and only. And when he finds his mate, Gareth puts a whole new meaning into a protective alpha male.
This man was dominant and commanded respect. Rachel complemented Gareth. She was soft to his hard. Yet when pushed, Rachel could also be just as commanding. It was such a joy to read. You could not help but fall in love with these two.
The first encounter between Rachel and Gareth had me chuckling. He wanted her more than anything but was a complete gentleman. He would court Rachel even if she did not want to be courted. HEHE

In book three of the Shifter Date series, Shifter Date: This Kitten's Got Curves, we meet Rachel and Gareth. From the very beginning, this couple has chemistry that is off the charts. It's that whole I-just-laid-eyes-on-perfection thing, and Ms. Black writes it well. A heads up for new readers, this book can be read as a stand alone, but there are plot elements that continue from book to book.
The book centers around the extremely sassy and ultra-confident Rachel and the romantic, rough around the edges take charge alpha bear, Gareth. In a nice spin, Rachel is the one who wants no strings, while Gareth is insistent that he wants forever. He wants to woo her. She just wants to get laid. I was thrilled with the portrayal of Rachel as curvy and happy with herself. Too many books paint curvy girls as wanting to change themselves. But, Rachel loves herself, and Gareth loves her curves as well as her personality.
I did feel there was more focus on the sex/intimacy in this book that in previous ones. However, there was still significant forward movement with the underlying plot. I like how Ms. Black keeps you invested in both the characters and the storyline linking each book. This makes me eager to read more. Another great read!

Ahhhhh!!! I freaking loved this book! And FYI Gareth is my new book boyfriend so back off ladies!
Gareth is a bear shifter and can I just take a minute to say, uhhh.... YUMMM! Holy hell this dude is HAWT. This was the third installment in the Shifter Date series, and this one could very well be read as a standalone. Rachel has been hurt in the past, and is now just looking for Mr. Right Now, nothing long term, just some fun in the sheets.
Gareth is in need of finding his mate, his status as Alpha depends on it. So when he tries the Shifter Date App and he sees Rachel, he knows he has just met his mate. The only problem is Rachel herself. Will he be able to convince her before its too late?
I am really enjoying these novellas from Alma Black. Fun, flirty, a bit of drama, some violence and of course some really good sexy times. I give this 4 stars.

Of the three books so far in this series, this one is my favorite. I loved both Rachel and Gareth but will admit to loving Rachel more. The intrigue is still there in regards to Power Shift, but the story as a whole is well balanced between romance and drama.. The story is very easy to follow and hard to just put down. You'll want to read it all at once. The romance builds but you will root for your favorite as I root for Rachel. I look forward to reading more from this author, her books are interesting, amusing and sexy.

Rachel and Gareth's story is hot hot hot! Rachel has been burned and is only looking for a hook-up, Gareth is looking for forever. She agrees to let Gareth court her, but has no intention of becoming emotionally involved. I won't spoil it by giving anything away, but their journey is scorching hot, but not without its obstacles. I definitely recommend this book to all the shifter lovers out there, but for mature eyes only!

Thanks to a sour breakup, Rachel wasn't looking for love. She just needed a good romp session. Her friend Jasmine turns her towards the new Shiftr app. Maybe she could find what she need. Gareth is Alpha Bear of his clan. He needs a mate. Quickly. Can he convince Rachel that she is his? This story is amazing. I couldn't put it down and was more than happy to devour it in one sitting. I can't wait to see what more treasures Alma Black adds to this growing series!

This Kitten's Got Curves has turned out to be my favorite of the Shifter Date series so far. I loved how feisty, and willing to just do things her way Rachel is and Gareth is a total dream! Their love story is not without bumps in the road and readers of the series will notice Power Shift again being an issue but this passionate duo earn their HEA! Another great read from Ama, I was glad to read and give an honest review an ARC of this book.

I really enjoyed this book. It's from a new-to-me author. The characters were well developed and the plot moved well. I also enjoyed her writing style and the sexy parts were perfect! I'll be looking for more of Ms. Black's books!

I have yet to be disappointed by Alma Black and her delicious Shifter Date Series. Book three of this series was on fire. I am a huge fan of well built tension by an author.
Rachel was Jasmine's bestie in Hungry as a Wolf. This girl had just the right amount of attitude and we get to see it first hand in this book. Rachel is tired of being alone and in a sexual slump. So what the hell, she gives the Shifter Date App a chance. There she meets an adonis. The downside, she wants a wam bam thank ya ma'am kinda deal. He wants it all, the whole dream. The heat starts sizzling as soon as Rachel finds herself matched.
Gareth is an adonis painted with words, his Alpha presence can not be hidden no matter how tame he tries to appear. He is unable to find the one woman in this world he supposed to mate, the longevity of his pack hinges on him mating before his thirty fifth birthday. Taking a massive hit to his pride he finds himself on the Shifter Date App. Hopefully he can find his mate before it is too late. The threat of Power Shift closer than he knows.

This is the first book in this series I read because I wasn't aware it actually WAS a series and this is a new author to me. I was a little thrown at the term "pack" being used for all shifter groups but after I got over that it was a very enjoyable book. Gareth and Rebecca were a very interesting couple and although, as the reader, you know what Gareth knows about Rebecca, it was nice to see she didn't jump the gun and go straight there to a realization.... Once you have been wronged the way she was, you can understand the hesitation... And Gareth was a patient, compassionate man who, although he came on strong, gave her time to come to her own conclusion. I will definitely read more from this author.
