Opinion:

It has finally come: the end of the road. The last crumb of the pie. The last of the Mohicans.

(This has nothing to do with the Mohicans).

After a long and emotional tug of war between soulmates, centuries, Gods, demons and amnesia; the Prophecy Series has come to an end.

But to be honest, I am left feeling pretty disappointed by this installment.

Oh wow, oh wow, oh wow.

I can assure you, The Prophecy does not disappoint. It’s wonderful in so many ways, making a coherent review difficult. All the things that occur, all the twists and turns – just wow. I’ve had so many feels about this series, and the final book simply works to bring them all back to the forefront of my mind.

This is the fourth book in the Healer Series. You really, really need to read these books in order as they all build upon each other. This is the perfect time to get started on this series because the box set containing the first three books is free right now on Amazon. Yay!!

This series is a mash up of so many different things- Asian mythology with Gods and Goddesses, supernatural creatures, fantasy elements, and romance. It has great forward momentum and it's hard to put down.

Oh wow this book is amazing to say the lease! Hope and Tie's ending was a rollercoaster of drama, deceit, eternal love, and badass action and adventure. I loved the Prophecy so much! The love triangle betWeen Angie, Victor and Bishu was hilarious and her herself was my ideal characters to have in every story. Choices and Destiny...

I love this book and have had a busy week since finishing it. I could have done a quick single finger typing review on my phone and goodreads app but I really wanted to type it at my computer so I could really just type fast whatever thoughts popped up in my mind. I didn't think it would be this long before I could get to my computer but here I am a week later finally being able to sit and let my thoughts loose. I've thought about what I want to say about this final book in Choices and Destiny...

I love this book and have had a busy week since finishing it. I didn't think it would be this long before I could get to my computer but here I am a week later finally being able to sit and let my thoughts loose. I've thought about what I want to say about this final book in the series without revealing any spoilers and hope I can do it justice. This is definitely one you should read in order, otherwise there is so much that you won't understand and that you will miss out on.

Choice and Destiny is a great way to sum up many of the ideas in this book. There is a prophecy that we learn about in book one and from that prophecy we know that it is said that Hope is going to heal the veil once she ascends and joins with her soul mate. Hope's heart throughout the series is struggling to come to terms with the prophecy and with the expectations of many around her(not all, but many). In this one, The Prophecy, we have our group of heroes trying to reach the original Prophecy and those who can translate it for them. They need to know exactly what is written and how they can go about making sure it is fulfilled, or how they can heal the veil.

I want to tell you about the Prologue of this book and how something that happened at the end of the previous book has completely changed everything again. I want to tell you why the prologue and the characters in it are so key to the whole of the prophecy. I want to tell you about the many battles fought, some overcome with good and some lost that leads our group into further peril. The grip that Amatsu has on the veil and it's weakening is growing stronger and stronger and several choices of Hope's will determine if that veil can ever be fixed. Or if Amatsu and evil will conquer Earth and reign forever.

I really love this series and tell everyone I can about it. If you love YA, fantasy and an awesome clean romance(there's even some budding romance between secondary characters that was great), humor, suspense and really great writing, I highly recommend this series for you.

The humor in this book is fantastic. I found myself so many times(probably close to most of the book) grinning and laughing out loud, or chuckling quietly to myself. My husband would look over at me and laugh at me laughing so much. I tried to explain some of it but I think since he didn't know the characters it was a little lost on him. Angie is one of my favorites, ok maybe I shouldn't say she is one of my favorites because honestly I really like all of the characters. Yes I said ALL of the characters. How is that possible? Well you will have to read to find out. Many characters that I was not happy with from previous books had some great redeeming moments, or they just kept being their normal selves that I didn't necessarily like, but they ended up giving me reasons to like them(how's that for being vague and spoiler free?)

I want to see more of Angie, yes I know the series ended with this book but honestly I want more Angie and more of her life after everything finished. There's some good stuff going on there and we were left without some closure between her and a couple Kami (who shall remain nameless for this review). Angie is just a spitfire, an awesome best friend and exactly what Hope needed to help her through all the ups and downs and craziness that awaited her throughout this series. Love, love, love Angie.

This review wouldn't be complete without saying how much I love Hope and Tie. I feel if I say much else that I would start to reveal major aspects of this book and series so I will keep quiet and just keep saying that they are definitely one of my top favorite literary couples. There's a lot of heartache involved and misunderstandings and betrayals and healing and betrayals and heartache...you get the idea but I absolutely loved them. Read the series to understand why!

Content: There are some steamy kisses, nothing past that and I would say this is a clean read. If I remember right, the characters do mention sex but only in the sense that they are setting boundaries in their relationship and stating that they believe in waiting until marriage before adding that aspect to their relationship. That their love for each other isn't based on sex but so many other aspects. There are some swear words scattered throughout, mostly the *d* word. So a heads up if you don't like that, it's not said a lot throughout but pops up every once in a while. Overall I would rate this a clean read and would recommend for a little bit older YA readers and up. I can't say enough good things about this series and this author. Honestly she's amazing and is very gifted with her writing talent. If you haven't read any of her other books either, grab them and enjoy reading on a rainy or snowy day all snuggled up with them.

This is one of the best books I've ever read. I loved the plot , the twists and the basic concept behind the book. The story developed so well. I don’t understand. What happened and how it could differ so so much? The second and third book of the Healer series, that takes place in feudal Japan, are absolutely beautifully perfect and intensely addictive. But as soon as the storyline takes us back to real time and the moder I received a complimentary copy of the entire healer series for free to give a voluntary honest review. This is the review of the fourth book in the series and contains only my own thoughts and opinions of The Prophecy.

I don’t understand. What happened and how it could differ so so much? The second and third book of the Healer series, that takes place in feudal Japan, are absolutely beautifully perfect and intensely addictive. But as soon as the storyline takes us back to real time and the modern world the story just falls apart. Yeah, you can already tell where this review is going, considering that this entire book took place in the modern world.

I think the thing that disappointed me most was how good the first chapter was. I got exactly what I have obsessively waited for through the series as I’ve read. Tie and Hope (or Musubi and Mikomi as I prefer. They were more likable in historical Japan) could finally be together as they wanted and I got to see the romantic and also the flirting and teasing side of their relationship play out, as it had before as well ... until the next chapter, and the rest of the book. It was like the author just gave up on them and finished their protagonist roles in the series, but weirdly enough kept Hope as the narrator. Instead she started throwing in Angie of all people and her love problems and love triangle of cat and warrior in my face. In. Every. Single. Page. Excuse me, but I read this series for Mikomi and Musubi. I kept reading because I wanted to find out and follow them to their happy ending. Do not waste my time by just dropping them and making Angie (the most unlikable, trying-too-to-hard-to-be-funny, getting-in-peoples-businesses and interrupting-good-scenes,character) the protagonist out of nowhere. Every time Hope observed or spied on Angie’s love affairs (unrealistically all the time) this mantra of “I don’t care, I don’t care, I don’t care” was going on repeat in my head.

All I wanted was to read about the actual main couple and there were were so few moments of them together and when they were together it was rushed with no flirting or good dialogue. Basically, zero passion I could feel between them. The effort meant for their relationship was instead directed on Angie, Victor and Bishu. I swear there were more scenes about them than the actual main couple and that just made me so angry. This entire series until now had been about Hope and Tie so why would I suddenly give a damn about those three, one who was barely in the series before and the other not at all? I get that C.J. Anaya is using this book as an opportunity to introduce and lead her readers to the next book about Angie and It’s fine to hint at it, but this was not hinting. No, what happened was that the other three characters took over the story entirely and left the real relationship I was invested in behind in the dumpster.

There is a phrase, “too good to be true”, and in books that is “too good to be believable”. That is perfectly implied for this book. Everyone miraculously overcomes everything and conveniently get their perfect endings. Even the villain suddenly is the good guy and get his perfect ending. For spouting about to love is to sacrifice and having love and sacrifice as a main subject there is very little sacrifice actually happening, since the sacrifices that are made becomes unmade unrealistically and looses all its value. No one died in the past and no one dies now because they were given life back. The unloving mother is suddenly loving. The warrior who lost his soul mate is suddenly, without pain or complaints, okay with that and starts pining for annoying Angie and acting like Hope was never his love interest. Every past life is way to conveniently present in this life. It is literally too good to be true and therefore way way too unrealistic. The worst part is how rushed everything becomes just for the fact that the author strife too hard to make it unrealistically perfect for everyone involved. There is no feeling behind it, no real struggle or bad consequences they have to deal with even. Sacrifice is misused because no one sacrifices anything.

If the entire series were the second and third book only I would not hesitate to give the series five stars. But for the fact of the first and fourth book I can only place it at around three stars. I am however very grateful to CJ Anaya for the opportunity and I do not regret reading the series. It was an amazing experience and though things could be improved and worked on, I enjoyed the journey for the most part. Thank you CJ Anaya! ...more

The Healer needs to repair the veil between the worlds of darkness and light but she has to be able to see it first. The Prophecy concerns her but the modern translation of it is incorrect. This last book of The Healer has Hope and her followers seeking the scroll that contains the true translation. Alright, I'm not too ashamed to admit it. I had tears in my eyes by the end of this book. This entire series was just a wonderful escape into a whole new reality of monsters and love lost and love found. While the ending was a bit predictable ( really, there are only so many ways this type of novel/series can end so it wasn't a surprise), it was still so fulfilling to see it take place. I absolutely loved this series, from the very first book to the last they captured my attention. There was so much drama and romance, the action and adventure had me exciting for reading every page. I didn’t want to stop reading for even a second. Definitely recommend this book to everyone, this is honestly the best author I have found on Amazon in a while.

I liked the middle two books better, but I think part of it is because I like reading about the different era, as opposed to modern day.
This book was well written, and I felt pretty happy with the conclusion and closure offered. There were twists that kept it interesting right up to the end. A good read overall.

Wow this last book was truly magic! It continued the trials and tribulations of Hope, Tie and all their family and friends. Sorry will not spoil the story, lol. Awesome world building, well made characters, action, romance, passion, heartache, and otherworldly.

The Prophecy By C.J Anaya is the fourth and final book in The Healer Series. With loose ends being tied up this book has it all; Adventure, Fantasy, Suspense,Love and Lust with a delicate balance of Good Vs. Evil.

Overall I enjoyed this book, almost as much as the first three, but there were a few little things that felt annoying or off.

They kiss sooooo much in this book. I realize this is part of the author's storyline, but it got rather monotonous after a while. I think the tension between the characters in the first three books was much more appealing in the long run.

Being the e-book version, spelling mistakes shouldn't be a surprise, but the number of errors was disappointing.

This series was all about love, choices, and destiny! What an fantastic series to read. I enjoyed the whole roller coaster ride C.J. Anaya took me on. There was so many twists and turns I was never 100% sure what was going to happen. I absolutely love the characters, and was very happy for everyone in the end.
