Yes, I'm a full grown adult, but I can still earn a lot from a book. And I'm adult enough to admit I'm reconciling the facts with Christmas tradition (and tv shows.) Apparently the Rudolph movie is not 100% nonfiction! Female reindeer also grow antlers! The last few pages discuss the Sami people who have domesticated reindeer. Love the pictures of them pulling sleds!!

Has most of the non fiction text elements. Can be used in a scavenger book hunt for different NF text elements. Students are also highly engaged in the topic because there are not many books about reindeer.

Reindeer get a whole lot of attention in December. And they should -- they are interesting. But they don't really have red noses, or fly. This book is a great way for kids to find out why reindeer are interesting in real life.

Includes lots of facts on reindeer. Young readers would enjoy this one.
