It’s a small book (65 pages) but life of the great scholar, spiritual leader and organizer is expertly captures. The author reveals the life and works of Shankaracharya without any pre- biases. She tries to keep the hagiography at bay, throwing light at the intelligence, logic and extraordinary abilities of the young ascetic and on the life of Shankaracharya as a human being with stellar accomplishments.

She also outlines the life work of aacharya in detail giving the significance of his actions.

Nowhere she becomes extremely religious while telling different anecdotes concerning his life.

Overall a good read to know what Adishankaracharya did for the collective Hindu religion. We owe our identity to Him.
