The book started wonderfully with a haunting mystery weaved subtly in the words. Reign was a painter with a successful art gallery, with good friends, blind dates and basically a peaceful life. Till she got the sense of someone watching her. Her father was a great Creole priest, and Reign herself was the descendant of powerful hodoo magick. The story dealt with the transformation of Reign and the acceptance of her powers.

I must give credit when credit is due. And with that being said... I want to thank Karimah Colden for writing this awesome book! This book is very well written and takes you on a journey. A journey that you never want to end but are pleased to have taken the time to enjoy! I'm kinda sad that I finished so quickly but also very glad to have had the chance to enjoy such an amazing tale!!

While the main characters are adults, this book is more than appropriate for a teenage audience. I learned a lot about African culture and I was fascinated to discover the history and powers of hoodoo magic, as well as the many religious syncretisms in New Orleans. Eternal Soul is not only a fantastical novel but an educational one, too. The writing and language was simply beautiful and elegantly descriptive. Part urban fantasy, part romance, this one is full of magic, mysticism, secrets, and danger. The romance feels a bit like a soul-mates type story and happens rather quickly, but Krystian has a secret that looms over them even as he and Reign get to know each other. Eternal Soul grabbed me on the first page & didn’t let go. I was reading along on my Kindle and nearly had a heart attack when there were no more pages to turn. This book is the definition of a cliffhanger!
I felt like I was in New Orleans. I savored the sights, sounds, and smells of the area. I have never been to New Orleans, so this is quite an accomplishment from the author.
