There are many self-help type books that advise you what you should do, that discuss harmful thought patterns etc. So often, we are told to 'let go' of feelings like anger or guilt, without any guidance on how to truly do that, rather than simply repressing unwanted thoughts and feelings. This is the only book I have ever read that tells you HOW to actually accomplish this idea of "letting go". A comprehensive look at the teachings and practices of the ancient philosophy of Yoga Science, the book is filled with great parables, personal stories and observations, and genuinely provides a blueprint for living a happier, healthier and more rewarding life. Leonard and Jenness Perlmutter explain this ancient philosophy clearly and simply and provide a systematic approach that gives the reader basic tools to learn how to manage the multitude of thoughts and feelings that come up in daily life. The book helps us to understand at a deep innate way that every thought is only a suggestion and through the power of our minds we each of us have the capability of changing our lives for the better. Since reading this book and participating in classes at American Meditation Institute, I have become so much happier, healthier and much more comfortable in my own skin. I remember the stories and ideas presented every day as different situations arise in my life, and they help me immeasurably. I feel confident they will do the same for anyone who reads the book and puts the ideas presented into practice in their own lives.
