My grandmother was the artist for the section with songs about the natural world. Check out the illustration for "My Heavenly Father Loves Me"--that's me in her garden as a little girl!

Studying a children's song each day has been part of my 2025 Gospel study. So much truth is taught in these simple Primary songs.

Appealing to both adults and children, members and non-members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Many of my piano/voice student's parents purchased this book for their children because it is beautiful, colorful, teaches Christian moral values and it is economical, considering how much sheet music you get for the price. I love to play, sing, listen to or accompany these songs, for all occasions, especially baptisms. I also taught them to my own 4 children and 8 Grandchildren!

I grew up a member of this church, and am currently in Young Women’s. I have two little brothers who are still in Primary, and with our ward being so small (not even 100 people!) sometimes the youth sing with them on special holidays, like Christmas or Waster.
These songs I get stuck in my head everyday! I try to spend some time each week playing a few of these songs on piano, or listening to them rather than my Weezer playlist.
This small action has influenced my life in such a positive way, and I feel so touched through this music. (Can’t wait for the new hymn book to come out!)

Music is powerful. What you learn through music you remember forever. Here are songs about our Savior Jesus Christ, songs about family, and many fun songs thrown in. The first song in the book is "I am a child of God" a concept that I want my children to remember for eternity. While the words of lessons I teach them daily will probably come and go from my children's memory, I hope the words of the songs in the books stick with them forever. This songs in the books have blessed generations of children. I'm so glad we have these songs in our lives.

I remember how excited I was when this book first came out. And then even moreso when my piano skills reached a point that I could start playing the songs. I find a lot of consolation in playing and singing many of the songs in this book. I look forward to teaching my children these songs some day. Until then, I'll continue to enjoy singing them myself!

I am so exciting when I listen about this book, there are many songs inside this book.
"Books of the Old Testament," "Books of the New Testament," "Books of the Book of Mormon," "Ten Commandments," "Latter-day Prophets," and "The Articles of Faith" Songs.
When I listen this book, I suddenly remember my grandmother. I miss her very much. She always like to use piano to play these songs.

Since it was published I've probably opened this book more times than any other. I love many of the songs in it, but I also love songs in the old orange book and the even older green book. I think it's time for a new edition Children's Songbook, maybe for the 20th anniversary?
