What the fuck? This is trash. I can’t even begin to explain why this book is sooooooo horrible.

I mean, I already forgot the girl’s name, for fuck’s sake. She mooned over Regi (btw, what even is that name? I hope it’s a nickname) who was a known “man-whore,” but judged Kevin who was also a “man-whore”? Okay, sis.

I don’t know if I’m making sense or not, but this book is just... annoying to me. How was Kevin already claiming her like he owned her when he heard that Regi was attracted to her? That was the first time we ever met the hero of this story and he was already fuming, thinking about “his fucking Jo.” What the hell, man? Ew.

There was no build up whatsoever. They just... jumped into it. Also, what the fuck with the surprise BDSM? That shit caught me off-guard. So random.

-1/10 worth the read.

This book was an absolute treat to read and spun everything I love about NA Romance together perfectly. It was filled with angst, sexual tension, humour and romance so sweet I’m sure I gained five pounds.

Kevin is a manwhore. A bad boy. A cynic. But his loyalty and squishy centre won me over from the start. His confusion about his many feelings towards Jo had my toes curling in pleasure and I ate up every single dirty thought and word that spilled from him.

Jo, on the other hand, is the good girl. The virgin. The girl desperate to catch the attention of her crush. I am sick to death of the virgin trope, but in this case I didn’t even mind it. Jo was an excellent character. Her honesty and determination was a refreshing change.

Together these two made for some entertaining banter, moments that squeezed at my heart and sexy times so hot they burned off the pages. The story of Jo and Kevin is by no means one that I haven’t read before but in the hands of Holly Dodd it became a page-turner – not because I didn’t know how it all would end, but because the road to the ending was just so damn entertaining.

If you’re looking for a sweet read that will make you laugh and leave you with a big fat goofy smile on your face then look no further.

This was my first book by Holly Dodd but, won't be my last. This was such a adorable story. It was steamy & funny.

Jo is about to graduate college and feels like her window is closing on something happening with her college obsession Regi. Regi is a man slut who doesn't sleep with virgins so Jo decides to fix her virgin status asap. She enlists her friend Kevin who is slut himself.

Jo meets Kevin after he has a one night stand with her room mate and they become quick friends. Kevin doesn't do relationships so he jumps at the opportunity that Jo gives him.

Jo is beyond adorable. She's funny, sassy & determined when she makes up her mind. Kevin was funny and sweet even when he was trying to talk himself out of certain things. As much as I liked Kevin I wanted to cut him for what he pulled on Jo!!!

I can't wait for the next book!! This is a stand alone but, you are introduced to the characters in this book.

I voluntarily reviewed a ARC of this book

Where to start...I mean the book would've been halfway decent for me had I not been so annoyed by the grammatical errors and spelling errors. I mean, this book is pretty small, just over 100 pgs or so. Did no one edit it at all? Also, I mean I'm not totally into BDSM, which is like a thing in this book. I can overlook that, the problem with me was there was really no build up, at least not in my opinion. It was like the writer wanted to pack everything in really quick and finish up. Or maybe she thought adding in some BDSM or portraying the virginal main character as an inexperienced sexual deviant would make it all the more attractive. It was just a turn-off for me. And the use of the word "creaming?"....Dear Lord stop, please. I'm saddened to say, I actually hated this book. Take my opinion with a grain of salt and see what you think. I just thought it was crude and gross. And for me to say that, takes quite a bit.

I received a copy in exchange for an honest review

I absolutely love reading books by new authors because it is like indulging in a box of chocolates ...you just never know what you are going to get. The minute I read the blurb, the only thing I could think was “this sounds like my type of book”. I was quickly engrossed in the story line and was turning pages as fast I could to experience every moan and pant of Jo and Kevin and to watch them fall head over heels. And let me tell you, Jo and Kevin are a “pulse pounding, steam your glasses up, make you sweat” kind of hot! They couldn't get enough of each other and I couldn't get enough of their story!

Jolene Miller or “kitten” as Kevin loves to call her is a virgin with a kinky imagination that she would love to make reality. The only problem is the guy that she wants to make it reality with, does not sleep with virgins. So while she is blushing and salivating over Regi, there is only one man that she feels is in her comfort zone and hot enough to show her everything that she needs to know. Little does she know he has been dying to make her sweat and shake up her whole world. I loved Jo's fresh faced innocence, her brand of kink, and her unapologetic way of owning her love of kink. One minute she is blushing over sex and the next she is talking about wanting to be dominated and pleasured. She is an enigma and I took to her character like a duck to water.

All I can say after meeting Kevin with his delectable muscles and sexy man bun is whew! I would love to ride the Harris express! Kevin turns out to be so much more than his gorgeous outer surface and I loved every minute of getting to know him and experiencing the explosive passion between him and his “lil tinkerbell”. Kevin soon wrapped himself around my heart and had me begging and calling him “Sir” right along with Jo.

Holly Dodd delivers a scorching ride through the turbulent innocence and kink of a small town college girl that finds more than what she was looking for. Holly shows her readers that sometimes our future is different but far more exhilarating that we could have ever imagined. I highly recommend Giving It Up for a romance with a little sweet and a lot of heat! I am so excited and ready and willing to be pinned down in Mia and Regi's story when it releases. Who knows what steam and emotions that Holly will write for her readers.

I was given this book in advance for my honest review. This was my first book from this author and OMG I fell in love. She is will definitely be on my to be read list for all her books. This book is so HOT and SEXY it will have you blushing as you read. It will not disappoint you if you like a good romance and love story with just the right amount of humor, kink and even drama to draw you in.

Jolene "Jo" Miller is a beautiful dedicated student who hasn't took time to party and go out a lot during her college days. She does have her eye on one guy and will do anything she can to get his attention. She desperately wants the hot and sexy Regi to be her first. She tries hard to hide her feeling towards Regi but gets all hot and bothered when he is close by. When she does finally get the nerve to ask him to go out he turns her down stating she is not his type mainly because she is still a virgin and he is a manwhore.

In desperation to loose her v-card she ask her friend Kevin to help her out. Kevin is a hot and sexy trainer who she became friends with after his one night stand with her roommate. He is best friends with Regi and hates seeing her so hung up on him. Him and Jo have grown to trust each other and can enjoy each other. He has even had thoughts of more with her and that is not his style at all.

When Jo ask him to help her out and teach her what she needs to know he agrees the only problems is he hates the feeling he gets when she mentions doing this all to win over Regi. These two are hot together and perfect for each other in so many ways. They grow closer even though Kevin knows he is going to loose her. What they both can't see is how right it feels when they are together. How they fit together and how perfect they both are together.

Be prepared for some extremely hot SEX and also heartbreak when she does walk away to seek out Regi. Will Kevin be able to convince Jo that they are prefect together? Will Jo be able to see what feeling she has for Regi is just lust and what she has with Kevin is real?

This a very HOT and STEAMY college romance which is funny and sweet as well. I can't wait to see what happens with all of these characters and where Holly takes this story. I am anxiously awaiting the next book. Bring it on.

Giving It Up was a quick paced sexy and funny read about the girl who thinks she needs to give up her virginity so her crush will want to spend time with her. I was able to read this one in a couple of hours and I really liked it. Then again I also do tend to like a friends to lovers romance especially when it has that added twist of let me show you I am the right man for you not him plot line. Oh and add in a virgin and for some reason I love these.

Jo and Kevin will have you laughing, hot and bothered and wanting them to have their happily ever after. Even when Kevin does something that I personally would have dumped a hot pot of coffee over his head for (yes we all know my anger issues by now so are you really surprised?) I still couldn’t hate him. Jo was sweet a little awkward at times but I loved her character as well.

I am looking forward for the next book in this series; I think it will be full of fireworks to put it mildly. I may have found a new author to love in Ms. Dodd. I look forward to more of her books in the future.

2:5 stars! This was a bit kinkier than I realised! It was good but I struggled with a few things 1 I love a book that builds and this was a quick sexy read 2 when he broke her trust I would have preferred a lot more grovelling 3 the regi drama (there would never be any recovering for that in the next book for me!

Oh how I love these kind of books. Girl wants hot boy, hot boy doesn't want girl because he refuses to take her v-card, so girl goes to plan b, not knowing he has a thing for her. So they decide to take it slow and in the process feelings change. Now what? Can he change his man whore ways? Can he try loving again or is ending it the best solution? I loved this story and the characters. Change can happen and everyone deserves a HEA. One click worthy!

Listened to this on audio. It was a super quick listen and I loved the narrators.

Didn't expect to enjoy this one as much as I did, it wasn't on my radar at all but I was going through the available books on Audible Escape and I just wanted something quick and sexy, which this delivered on. Plus Christian Rummel is one of the narrators so extra motivation to pick this up.

Jo has a crush on Regi, Regi doesn't get involved virgins, at all. So Jo decides to give up her v-card to Kevin, her new friend but also one of the "man-whores" around town...on campus...I think Kevin was going to school to get further education to become a dietitian (FYI it took me almost 5 minutes figure out how to spell that). And Jo and Kevin end up falling for each other.

For the most part I really liked this. There were a couple of things that made me cringe though. For one, that Kevin has been telling Jo about his bevy of one night stands. He's been attracted to Jo since they met but because Jo wanted Regi and never went after Kevin to try and sleep with him he never tried to get with her.

Also I didn't like

And this is a weird thing for me to write but I didn't think the daddy-kink was necessary here. As Kevin and Jo were getting together one of the times he calls himself 'daddy' and I think he calls Jo 'little girl' once or twice. It just felt thrown in. Either commit to the daddy-kink or don't put it in because just sprinkling it in isn't very satisfying.

I'm excited and nervous about the next book, on the one hand I do want to read how Mia and Regi fix things but I'm also kind of disgusted with Regi. The end scene with him just put me over the top, I already didn't love him and then that whole thing just makes me nervous to read their story.

This was a sweet and sexy read. Jo is trying to lose her V-Card and whom better to help rectify the situation then your friend right?. The story is the perfect friends to lovers romance that had me hooked. Kevin is known for his “sharing the love” ways but as the lessons move further along with Jo his whole perspective changes little by little. Great read and where introduced to other characters that Id love to hear their stories on as well.

Actual rating: 3.5 almost good stars.

This started okay and very very hot. Just wow. And the plot is somewhat similar to The Deal, I was really pumped to read this.🙋

Midway, I started noticing words that were misused. And some analogies that doesn't make sense or weird or awkward. Then the story was somehow not deep. It was a bit shallow and the conflict was a lame attempt.

I still did enjoy reading this. I think I won't be reading the next book; Regi and Mia's but I'm really curious on the third book about Angela. We'll see. 😃

Giving it Up is my first read by Holly Dodd and I have to say that I was surprised with how much I blushed while reading it. This story caught me from the beginning with it's sexy paced characters with every turn of a page there is humor, kink and some drama.

Jolene "Jo" Miller is a virgin who has a massive crush on the hottest guy in class but for some reason he has a thing with avoiding virgins. Jo comes up with a plan to have her friend who is a known manwhore to be her first and maybe even give her a few lessons on how to please a man. What she never expected was to get caught up in the emotions and all the gorgeousness this man radiated.

Kevin Harris is a personal trainer and a volunteer at a pet shelter all the qualities a sane woman would want except for the fact that he finds most women that walk in his direction irresistible. He's not good at relationships and has been avoiding falling in love, he is the perfect person who Jo needs to lose her v-card in her mind. This Adonis is up there with one of the dirtiest smooth talking alpha males that will piss you off and win your heart.

The chemistry between Kevin and Jo is sizzling. I love how the are with each other, their inhibitions are totally down and they are funny together. If they could only see that they are perfect together. This is one extremely sexy, fun and heartfelt read, I 5 Star love it!!!

Oh how I loved this book! You have two main characters that are total opposite. Both are just so personable that you can’t help but love every moment with them. You have Jo who is a 23 year old virgin that is so hung up on Regi that she’s willing to get someone to teach her the ins and outs of lovemaking and you have Kevin who wants Jo but doesn’t do relationships. So when Jo ask Kevin to “teach” her so to speak, he thinks he’s won the lottery: he’ll get Jo in his bed with no strings as well as be her first!

The story is hot funny and wild all rolled into one. Does it work out for them? Does Jo learn what she needs in order to get Regi? Does Kevin get what he’s looking for out of Jo? Or does life suddenly get really complicated for everyone? I highly recommend grabbing this one and enjoying the ride. 2 Thumbs Up!

I love this kind of story. Jo is the shy girl who is tired of still being a virgin when the guy she is crushing hard on refuses to take her v-card, Jo comes up with a plan, she asks her man-whore friend Kevin to help her out. Jo and Kevin have become great friends after a chance meeting one morning, little does Jo know Kevin has a little crush of his own. They have great chemistry and together they will make quite an explosion.
Reason I'm only giving it 3.5 stars is because I felt like there was something missing from the story, I would've loved to have more of a backstory even though we got a glimpse in to Kevin's past it would've been great to have a bit more. I would still recommend one-clicking it and reading for yourselves.

Final Score - 5 Stars!

Jolene "Jo" Miller is a beautiful dedicated student who hasn't took time to party and go out a lot during her college days. She does have her eye on that one unattainable guy and will do anything she can to get his attention - and she desperately wants the hot and sexy Regi to be her first. But Regi doesn't "do" virgins. So, she enlists her friend Kevin to help her loose her pesky v-card.

Kevin is a hot and sexy trainer who she became friends with after his one night stand with her roommate. But, he is also good friends with Regi. And the kicker - he hates seeing her so hung up on someone like Regi. What's a poor guy to do when the object of his affection wants him to help her land someone else?

What happens next is a comedy of errors but in the end helps these two sort out their true feelings - they are hot for each other and together, they perfect for one another. Of course there has to be some drama thrown in - courtesy of his ex - to make him run scared and have them each questioning if they are the real deal.

With extremely hot SEX, heartbreak, and a push/shove by Kevin, Jo nearly walks away to seek out Regi. Will Jo seek comfort in Regi's arms? Will Kevin realize the colossal mistake he's made? Will Regi grow up and stop being a manwhore?

This was not my first book by this author, but wow! I do believe I've fallen in love again with her style & wit of writing. Ms. Dodd is FOREVER on my TBR list! This book is not only HOT and SEXY, but it will leave you in a constant state of blush - so much so that your read time commuting will have you fanning yourself in any type of weather. You will not be disappointed with the story - it's the perfect blend of a good old fashioned friends to lovers romance with just the right amount of humor, kink and especially drama.

This a very entertaining college romance. Not only is it hot & steam to read, its funny and sweet as well and will keep you on your toes to as to who will end up with whom. I can't wait to see the follow up and what happens next to these characters.

I am literally on pins and needles waiting for the next book in this series. Bring it!!!

Wow - this is both fun, with some lovely touches of humour, steamy and was so full of emotion it made me cry! This is a well written, easy to read book that was different enough to make it stand out from more run of the mill romance stories.

The book is really well written, the characters well rounded and the plot was good. The book had a steady pace and neither dragged nor jumped around to much. There were enough other characters included to fill out the book, and we got enough background story on the hero and heroine that we could understand them. Alternating 1st person POV's also made it easier to know and care for the main characters.

Kevin and Jo are both very likable and 'real' characters. The connection between them is really believable, and incredibly hot. The authors style is really easy to read, the dialogue was not only natural but was funny too. My only issue was the use of c**t and t**t as nouns because these are two words I really don't like. They were only used a couple of times though so it didn't spoil the book for me. I also got the impression that the author was trying to avoid using the same word repeatedly and this was why she occasionally used them - which I can appreciate.

I'll be honest, this was one of several advanced review copy books I signed up for recently and I had almost felt under pressure to get this read and reviewed in time. HOWEVER I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book, it wasn't a chore in the slightest. In fact it was a real pleasure and I will definitely be looking for more books by this author.

This was a new author for me and i have to say I have fallen for her characters! Jo wants nothing more than to shed her identity as innocent so she has a shot of the guy she thinks is the one for her, Regi. On the campus of University of Wisconsin, Madison Regi is the guy that has women falling all over him and Jo is not immune to him either. Concocting a plan to loose the one thing she thinks is in the way with her fairy tale with Regi with a the guy who is her friend and an admitted man-whore himself. Kevin knows he should stay far away from Jo, but who can resist her adorable charm when she offers him the one chance at what he wants. Broken and dark, Kevin thinks when it comes down to it he is unworthy of Jo and sometimes it takes a lot for a leopard to change their spots. With one goal in mind Jo never saw the curve-ball that is Kevin coming, but maybe he was her fairy tale after all. What starts as an easy plan, loose the cursed v-card, has twists and turns that just can't be plotted out and the ending you thought you wanted was just a pipe dream with reality being even better, and sometimes harder. I can't wait to see what is next for this awesome group of characters from Holly Dodd. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

DIRTY KNEES REVIEWS: Giving It Up by Holly Dodd 4 KNEES!

Jolene uses her one and only guy friend, Kevin, to make her crush, Regi, see her differently then the wholesome girl she portrays.

Kevin and Regi are friends and discuss Jo on a regular basis. They both know she wants Regi but he doesn't go for the pure and unexperienced. Kevin volunteers to change that.

Jo and Kevin decide to use each other to get what they want but don't consider emotions and feelings can get involved rather quickly.

This was definitely a fun read! The sexual chemistry between Kevin and Jo was off the charts! I LOVED his nicknames for her...very precious and it just added to the description of who Jo was.

As I got caught up in the story and the sex there were a few times Holly was too descriptive with what was happening. I cringed at some of the wording but the details she gave were very detailed...you were right there experiencing it with Jo and Kevin.

I would definitely recommend this book to those that need an entertaining and easy read filled with intense pleasure and happy endings. I'll be waiting with bated breath for Mia and Regi's story.

Jo is super attracted to Regi and she thinks she can change him into having a monogamous relationship. But Regi doesn’t do virgins, so she asks Kevin to help her. Kevin is also notoriously promiscuous, but they’re sorta vaguely friends. Jo accidentally falls in love with Kevin while he has sex with her.

Eh. This was new-adult though, so what’d I expect? The best thing about this story was the dirty talk. Characters were so-so. Jo gets very wet just looking at men, which I found very unrealistic. And for a sex therapist, she has dumb reasons for wanting to lose her virginity. I mean for an average college girl I guess they could be peer pressured, but someone specifically studying sex therapy? That’s hilariously bad reasoning.

Anyway, Kevin was alright. He is still not entirely over his ex-girlfriend because of something significant that happened, which he was not allowed to be a part of. If that makes sense. Also Kevin never says the word “little,” and instead every single time he wants to say that word he says “li’l.” Sometimes that felt... misplaced.

I wouldn’t keep this on my shelf and I probably won’t reread it.

This was the first book I have read from Holly Dodd and I really enjoyed it. The characters were well developed and I was able to follow along with the story. There was also loads of hot sex scenes! Right off the bat, I loved Jo. She was sweet and innocent and smart. I loved Kevin! Yes he was a player, but he was up front and honest about it. The way he treated Jo, though, it was obvious that she was going to be someone much different for him.

I had a hard time with Jo's relationship to Mia. Mia was supposed to be her best friend, but we didn't have much interaction between them. I was confused with whatever the Regi/Mia thing was that happened, obviously we will get more in the next book, but if Jo and Mia are best friends while was Jo never clued in on this.

Over all this was a wonderful story and I plan to read the next book in this series and will probably look to read more books from this author in the future.

I was given this book in advance in exchange for an honest review. This is the first book I’ve read by this author and I will definitely be reading more from her in the future!

This story is hot and sexy in all the right places. So, Jo is pretty much obsessed with Regi and she thinks she’s doing a really good job of being discreet about it. Problem is, she is very obvious and everyone she knows is aware of her feelings….as well as the status of her cherry. Regi won’t touch a virgin with a ten foot pole, so Jo needs someone to break her in so Regi will want her. That’s where Kevin comes in. Kevin is as big of a man-whore as Regi, but he loves Jo’s innocence and wants to help her out and giver her “lessons”. What are friends for, right?

Their lessons are hot. But are they hot enough for Jo to forget about Regi and make this thing with Kevin more permanent?

OMG I loved this book the characters were amazing and real. the story keep in , I didn't won't to put it down. Jo is tired of being a Virgin , she has her eyes set on one certain guy but he doesn't do virgins and jo just knows that once she's been deflowered her perfect guy will want her and they will live happily ever after....right? Well in order to lose her V-card she's going to seek out the help of her friend Kevin cause she trust him and he's a ladies man, but will he do it?
Kevin likes Jo and her innocence probably more than he should so when approached to do her favor he's not sure if can due to his feelings and plus can he convince Jo to give him a chance and forget about Mr perfect? I loved it. absolutely loved it.

This is a fun intense emotional story that is completely gripping. I thought this would go a different direction to what it did and therfore surprised me and wasn't predictable. This is a great story about a virgin who has a crush on two men. Her 1 crush won't sleep with her because she's a virgin the other will. That is where the typical romance ends. This is z great love story with lots of twists and turns and lots of elements to the story love, friendship, loyalty, surprise, betrayal, hurt, romance, and extremely hot sex. This is the first I've read from this author and I will be looking out for her in the future. I would definitely recommend this book

This was my first book by Holly Dodd so I wasn't sure what to expect from this book. I really enjoyed the book. I loved the characters. Jo was sweet and I really liked her. Though I can't imagine why she had to so bad for Regi, in my opinion he wasn't anything that special. I totally fell in love with Kevin, but who couldn't. I know he was a manwhore but he never pretended not to be. The more you get into his head and know what's really going on with him the more you fall for him. If you are looking for a good friends to lovers book with some great sexy scenes than I highly suggest this book! I can't wait to read more from this author :)

This is my first book by this author... and I must say that I am now a fan. This story takes you through all kinds of emotions and feels... here you have Jo, who is in college and still a virgin.... yes... but the story line is amazing. She thinks she wants Regi, who is a man whore and won't even give her the time of day because she's a virgin! Can you believe it. And there is Kevin. He's also to be considered a man whore, but he finally gives in to Jo.... From there you fall in love with these characters. .. you cry with them... and you hope for the best, and that they can overcome their obstacle and finally figure out how the feel toward each other...

I wanted to give it more stars but I couldn't. To me it was ok but not enough depth. I sadly found myself rolling my eyes and skipping pages/scenes non stop. Some scenes just went on to long for me. I didn't mind Jo she was pretty laid back. And Kevin was written pretty well. Just the whole book to me had pretty much only sex and mediocre s&m. I needed more back story along with more world and character build. It just didn't do it for me. I can tell Holly Dodd has potential but she's still very new so maybe next book will have more of what I seek.

First book by this author & she now has another adoring fan. I fell for her writing style rather quickly. This books was a fantastic read. The characters Jo, Kevin, Mia & Regi were well developed.
Jo was a determined college student. She knew what she wanted & had persistence to see it through. Kevin was a broken fitness trainer that had walls built around his heart. He needed a wicked spitfire to fix all the damage of his past.

This story was so much fun to read! I really enjoy reading V-card books and I really like unexpected romances. Holly did such a great job writing this one! I completely devoured the whole book

Jo is such a strong willed girl, and I really admire her for making her choices! And Kevin was so different than I expected. There were a lot of things about this book that left you thinking and none of it was what was expected. I can't wait to read the next book in this series!

This was my first time reading a Holly Dodd book. Oh my goodness! whatever you do, get this book! This book was the definition of HOT!! I loved the dual POV's. Kevin could teach me his ways any day of the week! This book had me laughing and hot and bothered all in the first chapter. I was not ready for it to end! I cant wait to see what is next!
