Kate ships tons of fictional couples, but IRL her OTP is her and Mick, the hot quarterback she’s crushed on since, like, forever. With only one semester left of senior year, it’s now or never if she wants to land him in time for prom. Since she’s flirtationally challenged, she enlists Cooper Callihan, the guy who turned popular seemingly overnight but who used to be a good

This was a YA contemporary romance story, featuring a plan to go with a quarterback to prom.
I liked Kate and Cooper in this, and it was sweet how they both slowly fell in love with each other without even realising it.

Operation Prom Date was a sweet quick read, I really enjoyed it.
The storyline was cute, sweet and I loved watching Kate and Cooper together. They were likable, smart, funny and just perfect together. They made me laugh and swoon with antics, these two were going to have a very happy life together :)

Operation Prom Date by Cindi Madsen is a lovely read and a great start to the Tactics in Flirting series, looking forward to reading more in the near future.

Such a cute and quirky feel-good read with two easy to love main characters, blessedly little angst and just the right length to keep me interested right up until the end.
"I ship us, Kate. I want us to be Kaper or Coopte or Capote or whatever weird combination our names can make."
Just like the other books I've read from Cindi Madsen so far, Operation Prom Date has left me with a content smile on my face and a fluffy, happy feeling inside. Exactly what I needed.

Kate decides to take a chance and finally go for her high school crush, Mick, for that she needs help of her somewhat friend, Cooper.
Two things are necessary for a book to capture my interest, it needs to be well written and have good plot story. Operation Prom Date definitely had the plot story part down. It was as well written as it could´ve been though. The sentences were way too long there was a lot of repetition. I don´t need a reminder what happened in the last chapter ...more

In alternate points of view, this book tells the story of a girl enlisting the help of her friend to win the attention of the football player, so she can hopefully go to prom with him. Yes, it's somewhat predictable, but it is a lot of fluffy, goofy fun.
I liked the little things that made the story unique. Cooper and Kate are friends, and not even really that close of friends, so there wasn't any one-sided longing going on...at first. These characters have interests that really set them apart (r ...more

This was a sweet and fast read. It's a very fluffy story, the characters are decent, and so is the writing. The romance portion of the story was well executed, and the whole text is very easy to consume; it's filled with pop-culture references and light humor. I really liked it.

OMG, this book just filled me with the fuzzies and I can barely deal with how happy and giddy I am right now. I just finished this, and I had to run here and write this review because my heart is too full of love.

In Operation Prom Date, Kate is known for shipping all sorts of people together: fictional, real, you name it. But, the couple she ships most in life is herself with the Quarterback, Mick, which seems like it will never come to fruition. When her old friend Cooper appears to become popular overnight, she enlists his help to work on her flirting skills, to try and bag Mick for the prom before it ...more

Was able to read this galley thanks to entangled on netgalley for a review of this book. This book <3, it's sooo light and fluffy so I absolutely loved it. If you like YA contempory you will absolutely love it. And the books references to pop culture things and it's makes it really really funny.

I was in the mood for something cute and light and decided to give this one a try when I saw there was no wait for it at the library and I am so glad I did! It was so freaking cute! I loved Kate and Cooper and shipped them pretty hard. I also loved all Kate's talk about the characters she shipped ("I used to be all about Damon and Elena, but there toward the end, I shipped her and a coffin." Lolol). I loved how kind of nerdy Kate was and she made me laugh several times. If you're looking for a s

Operation Prom Date tells the story of Kate and Cooper. Kate is in love with a popular quarterback, named Mick, and wants to go with him to prom. And because Cooper doesn't have a rowing partner, he helps Kate with Mick, so she helps him with rowing.
The more they get to know each other, the more they begin to like each other. Kate doesn't really know what she feels for Cooper but she doesn't want to risk it, when she's so close to going to prom with Mick. But how does Cooper fee ...more

**You can see this full review and more at Book Briefs: https://bookbriefs.net**Operation Prom Date is a young adult contemporary romance by author Cindi Madsen. I have read some of Cindi's adult romances and I really enjoyed them. They were fun and flirty so I was really excited when I saw she was coming out with a young adult romance. And even more excited when it was called the Tactics in Flirting series. Operation Prom Date is the first book in the Tactics in Flirting series. And I have to t

This was a super sweet read.
Here, we meet Kate and Cooper. Kate wants to take his forever crush to prom, but she can’t flirt if her life depended on it, lol. So, she seeks the help of Cooper, a somewhat friend.
Anyway, I loved Kate cluelessness regarding Cooper and her own feelings. It was right in front of her eyes! Lol I hated that she wanted to take this other guy to prom, a guy who was not worthy of her, but it was something she needed to figure out on her own.

I really enjoyed this book. REALLY, REALLY enjoyed this book.
It was the perfect combination of flirting, romance, humor and happiness. Mix in some awesome pop culture references we have a winner.
I really liked the character main and side ones. There were easy to relate to and very realistic. I have to say that I did enjoy Kate a bit more, just because I could relate when it came to her fandoms. The only down to Kate, I thought was that it took her longer than I thought to

In Kate's world of fandoms and OTP's, she clings hard to the fact that there's one person for everyone. In her mind, her true real life OTP is herself and Mick. The only problem is Kate is shy and introverted while Mick is one of the most popular boys in school. So, of course, she's basically had no contact with him. Enter Cooper, an old friend who has gained some popularity recently. Kate enlists Cooper to help her win Mick over in time to go to prom and for his efforts she'll help be his stand

So, this story really brings nothing new to the high school contemporary genre – but it is rather adorable. It follows a lot of the same tropes and clichés, but if you can handle the mindless gooiness, then you’re in for a fluffy book full of fun and heart.
I did enjoy Kate as a narrator. I really connected with her over her fangirling and OTP spewing excitement. She totally had her ships, and she went hardcore for them – which, um, you might have noticed I do as well? *looks around innocently* I ...more

I know what you are thinking... you are probably thinking, COLLEEN DNF'ed a CRUSH book? I LOVE Crush books. The writing style isn't bad. The plot is cute, the romance is ok. I liked Cooper very much. I always looked forward to his chapters.
Nothing is really wrong with this book, except I just don't think I am the right age to enjoy prom related type books anymore. It's a shame since the girl character was all about shipping, OTP's and stuff like that. Totally up my ally. But prom? I sadly think ...more

Kate really wants her prom date to be her long time crush, Mick. But she's just too shy. So she asked Cooper for help to land the guy in exchange to be his temporary rowing partner. As they come up on how the operation would go, sparks fly but falling in love is not an option!

With Prom finally coming up and her Senior Year ahead of her, Kate decides that this is her last chance to snag Mick - the star quarterback. Of course, Kate isn't one of the popular cheerleading girls. Operation Prom Date was one of those teen books that we see so often in the movies where the geek type girl or in Kate's case the girl who loves shows like Vampire Diaries and Arrow, so much she named her pet after Klaus. This reminded me of when I was five and was a big fan of The Little Mermaid
