Yes, the I'll take from you the one you love in the name of revenge and it will not phase me one bit story-line ... that always ends well. Bwahahahaha LOL It's stories like these that make me love contemporary romances so much. They're FUN! They are perfect for a fictional world where in the end, even ridic ideas somehow end up okay :) That's why we read these, right? Maybe just me LOL

Okay, so the story is told in dual POV. That's always going to be a win for me. I wish more authors chose that p

I enjoyed this romance for the character development, although the plot was lacking. The story could have used a little more time setting up the relationship between Caleb, Alec and Hailey, and perhaps some sort of background for their business. However, once focus turns to romance, that part is well done. The chemistry between Caleb and Hailey is on point. Some twists in the plot were unnecessary. Little grammatical errors were evident (conscience instead of conscious is one of those things tha

What do you do when your boss of three years doesn't seem to see what's right under his nose? Start pretend dating his arch-rival that's what!

Hailey is a lawyer working for Alec Charr, CEO of Charr Industries. Alec appears to be a bit of a split personality IMHO, at the start of the novel he is a hedonistic boss, always seen with a small, perky blonde on his arm, who spends his time at an exclusive club - maybe I misread the club as being some kind of hedonistic club rathe

Aside from some formatting issues (see below) this was an easy read. I will be honest though and say that I was tempted to mark this one DNF. Before the first chapter was over I was already screaming at the characters like you scream at the stupid girl who runs toward the killer in a horror movie. Now it is a personal problem that I had with the plot, and had nothing to do with the actual writing. I never should have tried this one knowing I hate the bet plot-line. However, I will say that curio ...more

Great book by Victoria. Simple premise yet has some nice little twists in it and a few steamy surprises.
I loved watching these two men start to compete with each other. Caleb was a charmer and boy could he turn it on. He'd likely have scared me off with some of the things he said, but honestly with Alec being so short sighted and everything revolved around him and the business, I'm surprised Hailey hung in as long as she did.

I didn't like how the author spelled everything out. I wanted more showing and less telling.

The feud between Caleb and Alec was just dumb? They hated each other for so long and then it took them basically 2 seconds to fix it.

I wanted more build-up of Caleb falling for Hailey.

This book was not satisfying.

When a romance involves trickery and deceit it’s always a bit “ify” for me, for I absolutely hate those things in real life. Yet, I can acknowledge that such things happen in real life and fiction all the time. When it’s presented right it can be an additional tension between the couple who are truly falling in love – and that was exactly the case for Hailey and Caleb in The Billionaire’s Bet.

An event in their past destroyed the strong friendship between Caleb and Al

Hailey, a lawyer, is extremely good at her job, not to mention loyal to her boss, Alec. However, Caleb, Alec's business rival and former best friend, tries numerous times to lure her away to work for his company instead.

Caleb has been searching for a way to exact revenge on Alec for a while, and upon seeing Hailey during a business meeting, and her interactions with Alec, Caleb believes he's found it.

Caleb is continually surprised each time Hailey rejects his employment offers, but

Hailey is a hard worker, she knows what needs to be done and does it without question. Which is why its so hard for her to understand why her boss, Alec, doesn't seem to notice all the work she does, or even more, why he doesn't notice her as a person. She's thought herself in love with him for a while, but known he didn't see it himself.

Caleb is Alec's rival, and more than that Enemy Number One. But Caleb sees something between them that Hailey and Alec don't see and he plans to use it to his

I adored this book from beginning to end. It had such a fun, flirtatious, sensual feel to it throughout. Each scene where Caleb and Hailey interacted sparkled. He was smooth and charming, a sweet talker to the core, but underneath a huge, but damaged heart. I loved how he took care of Hailey. And I liked Hailey. She is such a strong, no holds barred, very independent woman. I like how she kept Caleb on his toes, and brought out his better man. They were pure magic. The storyline flowed very well ...more

This is a fun, quick read that I just loved. In it, Hailey, a corporate attorney, has a crush on her boss. Unfortunately, he only sees her as a faithful assistant. When his sworn enemy offers her a deal with the devil to finally win his attention, she agrees. What follows is a love triangle with Hailey the pawn between two billionaires. Hailey changes everything to get the man of her dreams, but after all that, is the cost too high?

The two men are both damaged by their personal history, but only

This was a fun read.

We have Hailey and Caleb. Hailey works for Alec, a guy she’s liked for years but he never noticed her that way. And here comes Caleb, Alec’s rival and the perfect way to get Alec to notice her.

I really liked Caleb, even though he had ulterior motives to pretend to date Hailey, he was so easy going and charming, it was hard not to fall for him, lol. Obviously he had more layers than that and it was fun to watch him opening up to Hailey and be REAL with her.

It originally started with dishonesty and a taste of revenge. Our hero Caleb was helping our heroine Hailey develop a romantic relationship with Alec. Caleb wanted to use Hailey against Alec, but he fell in love with her instead.

Though it all started with a bet Hailey and Caleb are perfect together. They both complement the other. Caleb might have started pursuing Hailey as revenge against Alec but once he falls for her his plans for revenge are all but forgotten. The Billionaire's Bet was a great read and can't wait to read more like it.

I really enjoyed this one! I loved the twisted emotions between all the characters and the revenge factor involved. The secrets and manipulations made this a very interesting story. Personally I found Alec a bit pompous and preferred the charming Caleb for Hailey. In the end I think everything worked out as it should have. Loved these characters and the story. Definitely a book I would recommend.

Date Caleb to make Alec jealous. It backfires.
Caleb targeted her because she worked for Alec. He started thinking about getting out of his revenge plan but sometimes grudges are too strong. In comes. Alec, who starts “crushing” on her only because of Caleb.

Hailey Had a crush on her boss Alec who is the CEO of Charr Industries. Hailey was a lawyer and had worked close with Alec for the last three years. Alec only sees Hailey as a valued employee. Then Caleb meets Hailey first he tries to get her to date him and then offers her a job in the business he owns, but Hailey won’t say yes to either proposition. There is a history between Alec and Caleb. They don’t talk about it but it is there beneath a business rivalry they have had for years now. Caleb ...more

This is classic Harlequin type writing, people. Two once, close as brothers, best friends, now adversaries, who end up fighting over the same girl, who was playing with fire herself in agreeing to a bet in hopes of convincing one of them to finally notice her all collide in one big pile of ill-fated revenge and regret.

Oh, what a tangled web they all did weave. Not surprisingly secrets and past accusations get revealed/revisited and the truth along with declarations of love are put out there in h

In one of my previous reviews, I mentioned that I was getting sick of the insta-love and was taking a break from romance books. Well, THIS is not one of the books that got me sick of the genre right now. I wish....WISH I could find more books like this one.

I don't know why I love the billionaire bad boy (with a heart of gold) trope so much...maybe it's because they are like unicorns. They don't exist, but they're pretty to look at.

How do you get revenge on someone that had done you so wrong? You make a bet with their legal counsel. One month. One month you either fall in love with him or you catch the eye of the man that you want. Who wouldn't try for this deal? That was what Hailey was up against. She has longed for her boss for over three years and yet has gathered his attention. Caleb wants to get back at Alec and take what is his. So Caleb comes up with this bet th

This was my first experience with any of Victoria Davies' books and I rather enjoyed it. If not for the fact that I was exhausted after snowboarding all day I would've read it to completion at 2 am. Unfortunately, I was at my limit and instead picked it up to finish this morning. It was the perfect accompaniment to my morning coffee and the music of falling rain.

Boy has an enemy and uses the girl in order to get his revenge and ends up falling for her. Girl wants another boy (and that guy happens to be the enemy of boy one) and with the help of boy #1 she tries to make him notice her. Boy #2 shows interest, but the girl is starting to fall for boy #1. This could sum up perfectly the book. A couple of different classic/cliched storylines were mixed together in order to produce this one. It might have been something I have read a hundred times, but I stil ...more

The Billionaire's Bet was a quick, easy enjoyable read for me. I was hooked from the beginning and kept turning pages to see what would happen in story. I'm not usually a fan of the love triangle, but to me this was less about that aspect of the story and more about the bet. I liked all of the characters but especially Hailey and Caleb. This is the first book I have read by Victoria Davies and I really enjoyed it.

If you are looking for not one, but two bad boy billionaire’s, a kick ass/smart heroine, secrets and lots of hotness to read, then go no further than Victoria Davies’s The Billionaire’s Bet.

As soon as I started this book, I didn’t want to put it down. I got lost in the bad boy billionaire, who was struggling to keep to his plan, the wittiness of the heroine and sweetness of the story.
