The Ian Dodge Mysteries series is written by Judy Nichols, a new-to-me author. There are three books in the series thus far, and the proper reading order is: Sportsman’s Bet, Trouble and Strife, and Pork Pies. I had looked on GoodReads to make sure I read them in the appropriate order but they’re not listed as a series, or as related to each other. The third book of the series, Pork Pies, was my favorite! We finally meet Ruth’s

Pork Pies is the third installment in the Ian Dodge mystery series. I hadn’t read book one or two, but still I could easily follow along with this third installment.

Ian Dodge is tasked to help clear the name of Laura Lane, the Food Queen, and start of a popular TV cooking show. A blackmailer threatened to expose her past as a con artist, and was subsequently found stabbed to death in his hotel room. Suspicion falls u

It's a fast read with characters you can love and hate. Reading it was a fine one day escape from the real world.

As some people might suspect from our last names, Judy Nichols is a relative. However I was not given a free copy with the hope that I would say something nice about it, but bought t

Judy Nichols grew up in a Batavia, Ohio, a small town 20 miles east of Cincinnati. Now, along with her husband and daughter, she is lucky enough to live on the coast of North Carolina where she never has to drive in snow and the ocean is ten minutes away.

For no good reason, she decided to write a book while her infant daughter napped. Five years and several viewings of "Toy Story" later, her novel
