Tired of being bitch slapped by the American Psychological Association's (APA) writing format? We were too. So, we decided to bitch slap it back! Using satire and a hella lot of four-letter words, this writing manual teaches APA sixth edition in a comical and fucking unforgettable way. Highlights include: clear and concise rules and guidelines (yes, that nitpicky shit), in-text citations, sample references, sample paper highlights, and annotated references.
This book is incredibly profane and definitely one of the most hilarious things I've read in a long while. I immediately bought 5 copies to give to friends and fellow sufferers. (Rebecca, yours is on the way!) If you've ever struggled with writing a paper in APA (American Psychological Association) format, this book not only has all the correct answers (and since I'm an instructor in a college writing lab, I checked it out closely), it also provides the most satisfying acknowledgement of your frustrations EVER. I am very eagerly awaiting their next book, Bitch Slap MLA. Expect a lot of four letter words and refreshingly brutal honesty. My favorite section is "25 Common Fuck-Ups," which I wish I could quote from here, but I gave away all my copies. If you're a student in the sciences, get this book.
I can’t believe I’m giving a book about APA formatting a 5 star review, but there’s a first time for everything. Short, concise, helpful, easy to read, and funny —- pretty much the exact opposite of the actual APA. Anything that helps w grad school gets 5 stars from me!
This book gives the exact sentiments I feel towards APA format. Bitch Slap APA by Nathaniel Simmons, Ph.D and John C. Byerly has been extremely helpful with figuring out APA especially since I've done MLA most of my life! In the last week of this semester. I've got two 7 page papers due this week!!
I wish to have a version of this one and the APA one in Spanish for my friends who use it in Peru, this book is helping me a lot now that I’m studying in English!!
