"Perhaps the wildest facet of all: she didn’t even know. The girl was entirely oblivious to just how much her life was about to change."

This was a fabulous YA debut by T.L. Martin.

Charlotte is an ordinary girl, or so she thinks. Having to exercise often to keep herself from being sick has become her normal routine and one she hasn't even tied with the paranormal.

When she applies at a whimsical tea shop, she is thrown into a paranormal world of witches, vampires, and demons. Turns out her litt

This was a YA paranormal story featuring witches and vampires.

Charlie was an okay charcter, although she maybe tried to protect other people too much, putting herself in unnecessary danger. I also found her to be a little naive about her ability to fight supernatural creatures.

The storyline in this was about Charlie discovering that witches and vampires existed, and finding out her role in regards to them, and a spe

I don't hand out many five star reviews. Especially for a first person viewpoint, which I hate and despise. Usually a good, solid read will get a four star review from me. Not this time. This time I couldn't WAIT to proudly and gleefully hand over a five star review. The only thing I didn't like about this book was there wasn't more to it.

Debut authors can be a mixed bag. Especially in YA which I don't read too often. I really only picked this book up because it was the only interesting looking

I can't even.... I don't even know where to start or what to say. The character development in here is some of the best I've ever seen. Charlie is SO real. I also relate to her well because of her anxiety and I think the use of it in this book does it justice. It's real, gritty and sometimes it's hard to deal with.

I also love the plot, I love paranormal romance and this was seriously the best book for me. It had everything I love and even things I didn't know I loved. It's seriously great. I do

I was a bit hesitant to read this as I don't usually read about witches, though I found myself enjoying the story. There were certain times where I found myself getting twilight vibes though there is nothing that is the same in this novel other than there is vampires but they don't sparkle haha.

I really enjoyed the writing as it was super easy to get into and I rarely found myself wishing the pace would speed up because majority of the time it was awesome. The world building was also really well

Amazing book

I received an ARC of Singing Fire from the author. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book.

I don't even know where to begin with this book. I found is amazing and the ending just blew me away. This book starts off with a young girl named Charlie and her power that she possesses. Charlie meets a charming and handsome vampire Desmond and the book just gets better from there. Charlie has to learn how to control and work her new powers and how to use them. I love the writing and the s

The book started well: fascinating world, great characters but the more I kept reading, the more i felt disappointed especially the last 25% of the book.

Genre: Paranormal Young Adult

I really enjoyed this book. The writing was beautiful to me, not the best I've seen, but it was good. I was somewhat able to relate to Charlie in the story, so it was a plus for me. I'm normally shy and like being alone. I do like paranormal books, so this was a great read for me. The slow burning romance was something I really liked. I quite enjoyed this story. A story based on a young nieve witch who doesn't know what she is.
After suffering panic attacks most of her life, having no friends and her parents died, Charlie has lived quite a sheltered life. She has her routine of walking, running, swimming & spending time with her elderly neighbor.

This book. Without going into spoilers all I can say is that the ending....destroyed me !! I loved the blend of witches, vampires and demons in this book and I especially loved our main character, Charlie. She was so determined and fierce and while she could be foolish at times it was for the people she loved that motivated her to act so recklessly. I enjoyed the interactions Charlie had with our other characters and while I wasn't as emotionally invested in a majority of them I found myself slo ...more

I was immediately pulled into the world that was created and could barely put it down! The imagery and character development was so well done. I loved the twists and turns in this, and the final third of the book had me at the edge of my seat! I highly suggest this if you like supernatural, urban fantasy type books. LOVED LOVED LOVED

This is the story of reincarnated rock who brings out the deepest part of those around it and shows that sometimes villains are not always what they seem and stereotypes cannot always be trusted.
This debut novel is filled with all the twists and turns of any seasoned author. The characters are unique, and the world, while staying true to our universe, is plunged magnificently into magic (along with the main lead). Following Charlie on her adventure is a delight as she breaks out of her hermit c

I'm a sucker for the romance, and this book delivered!

I've been fortunate enough to work alongside the author as a beta reader, and from the first time I picked it up, I couldn't put it down.

I love the main character and her personality, even though Charlie suffers panic attacks, she's strong, and when faced with the unimaginable she grows into the heroine she is; with the help of the 'forbidden love' of course.

Fantastic characters, unique plot, and a writing voice that's easy to read.

This is the first book in the series and it follows Charlie, who is discovering her magical abilities. I received this book in exchange for a honest review.

I LOVED this book! Charlotte is a sweet and caring introvert that bakes delicious sweets for her elderly neighbor. Charlotte has issues with socializing with others due to her severe anxiety issues. Charlotte takes a job at a local tea shop and discovers just how powerful she truly is.

It's an action packed story with a little Romance in it.

I'm going to be completely honest here. Before I picked up this book I was in a slum. The past 3 books i've read, 2 ARCs and 1 book I bought online, I felt like i was just trying to pull myself through them to get them over with. I had absolutely no motivation to read and my reviews were nothing special and kind of short with no actual feeling. T.L. sent me a signed paperback copy of this book so I could review it. This books blurb got me excited because I haven't read this genre of book since T ...more

It wasn't really bad to start off. The book started great--great enough for me to continue reading it. I liked the world building and the the plot was not bad, though Twilight vibe was so glaring.

So we got Charlie,(view spoiler) the main character. Well, she reminded me of Bella (of Twilight) in a way in her character; very shy, quiet, soft, dainty, sensiti

I was sent this by the author in exchange for a review!

Singing Fire is an urban fantasy that follows Charlie who discovers a whole new world she never knew existed. I really enjoyed this book, it was so much fun to read!

I did enjoy the first half more than the second half, but the ending made up for that because it blew my mind.

I would recommend this book to fans of urban fantasy with a touch of romance.

I'm so excited about this series. I'm downright giddy. There are witches, and vampires, and demons, and this new Opal kind of magic. These are all creatures we've read about in other stories, but this time they're brought to us with a few new spins. The supporting characters all have their own voice and purpose. The world is very well built around them. It's easy to envision and lose yourself within their lives. The main character, Charlotte, thinks she's jus

I was given this book to read for free in exchange for an unbiased review.  I have to say that I really enjoyed the book.  The newest fad of witches and vampire stories doesn't seem to be slowing down and this story really did not disappoint me.  There was just enough romance to satisfy and left me wanting more! There was action and excitement and I have to say that I was surprised with the twists and turns the book took along the way.  I have read a number of highly rated book lately that did n ...more

A trifle wordy for a YA , but never the less a jewel. With an interesting take on the powers of witches and actual believable fleshed out villains, the author is on her way up. looking forward to more books from her.

I absolutely loved this book! Ms. Martin sent me an email asking for me to give it a read and the initial reason I said yes was because the cover was gorgeous. It caught my eye, as well as the summary. I love fantasy kind of books and I hadn’t read one for a little while, so I figured that it was time to.

Now this book just had so much amazing stuff going on. First of all, it was fantasy but not so much so that it wasn’t based in reality. It was kind of like the Shadowhunters idea where they were

Thank you T.L. Martin for the opportunity to read your book. This was a good read. The story was good. I thought it was boring at times, while other times it was interesting. Also, the characters were okay. I did not really like Desmond. He did not seem that appealing to me. Charlie was a better character than Desmond, but I did not love her. The ending of the story was really confusing. I thought the story had potential. I hope

Love this story! I found that I related to the main character, Charlie really easily and really quickly. The author has a talent for writing memorable characters you fall in love with almost instantly. I think that's really where this book shines.
I'm not really big on romance, and even though this book is classified as paranormal romance, I found I still loved it. That's saying something...
I would definitely recommend and I can't wait for the sequel :)

The begining of the book was wonderful. Excellent writing, intriguing mysteries, a fascinating story with witches, mysterious tea shop, and an ancient charm that threatens the peace of the world.
Half the way through, about fifty percent into the book, something went down. The slow building was replaced by fast events which for me was too fast. The romance, which was intense and implicit at start, was quickly developed without any real justification, and the heroine - who had just discovered who

I received a copy of Singing Fire in exchange for my thoughts. Now, let’s get to it!

Singing Fire is the debut novel of T. L. Martin, and admittedly it’s a book that I found a bit difficult to get invested in in the beginning. I was confused with the opening (I admit, I had forgotten the synopsis), so it wasn't until I'd gotten a little further into the story and remembered that Charlie suffers from panic attacks and social anxiety. It explains her odd, yet endearing character traits. It also shi

Holy mother of wow. Where do I even start.

This book is about a girl named Charlie, she suffers from panic attacks and she's never really known how to handle them. She is prodded by her aunt to get a job so she applies at this tea shop which seems a bit peculiar. Through this she's plunged into a world of witches, vampires, demons, and a whole lot of twists and turns.

So I'll start with the dislikes first since t

Worldbuilding- It was fun diving into the world of Singing Fire. I liked the fact that the modern day world as we know it and the fantasy element of the story intermingled seamlessly. Of course, the Tea Shop was my favorite place of all. I loved how the story opened with Charlie discovering the little shop and the end of the story seemed to end there as well.

Characters- All of the characters were fleshed out beautifully, and I must say I even en

Great story! Normally I'm not really into this type of read but I did enjoy it a lot. It was very well written and the way she describes the scenes and characters really puts you in the story. And... got to get that next one... where is it... I need it now.....

This book was original, entertaining, exciting, and yet a little underwhelming.

Seventeen year old Charlie lives with her aunt. She suffers from severe anxiety and is eventually home schooled because of it. She doesn't really have any friends and spends most of her time alone. She applies for a job at a tea shop and everything changes. She learns that there are witches, vampires, demons, and that she has a special role t
