"I wish I could forget about everything else and start over with you."-Vince

Taking Care of the Target is my first book by Cindi Madsen and I really enjoyed it. I haven't read very many mob base love stories so I was looking forward to something new. This book did a great job at capturing my attention from the start. Vince and Cassie were very endearing characters.

"Just so you know, Vince DaMarco, I see you. The real you. Even if you don't."-Cassie

This crazy good storyline kept me 'tapping' through the pages. A murder brings the H and h together, execution of the next planned murder will separate them for good. But how do you kill the one you are falling for?

Nearing the end of the first chapter, I was thinking, "No way!" By the last page of the same chapter, I was thinking, "Oh gracious sakes, this is going to be good! Cindi Madsen always writes an enjoyable, fairly tame and fun romance.

If you are not willing to risk it all, then you don’t want it bad enough.

Every time I meet a new-to-me or new author’s book, it’s a high, a dive into unknown territory. Trying something new is a risk but reward, a challenge and adventure. The utter pleasure I get when I meet a new or new-to-me author’s words is BOOKWORM BLISS! That rush during that initial read is off-the-charts incredible! I met my first book by Cindi Madsen and it was a doubly-delicious high: new-to-me author plus romance thr

Taking Care of the Target by Cindi Madsen was a good read.

The storyline had me staying up late into the night until I finished.
Vince and Cassie were likable, endearing, relatable characters. I loved watching their friendship turn into love. I loved how protective Vince was with Cassie. These two had a beautiful, supportive and strong connection.
And their chemistry was smoking!

What a great Mob romance story! Vince and Cassie are truly an amazing book couple and both are very relatable characters in my opinion, especially Cassie! And Vince DaMarco, whew, sexy yet potentially dangerous...what more can you ask for in a book hero?

It was also far from predictable and didn't seem to follow the typical romance novel storyline, which makes this book truly a breath of fresh air!

Will definitely be adding this to my future re-read pile !

Taking Care of the Target is an addictive page turner.

I’m not one to fall for mafia guys, but Vince DaMarco had me the moment he showed up on the page. From the time he was a late teen, Vince and his younger brother, Bobby, were raised by his uncle, Mafia Crime Boss Carlo Rossi. Carlo has always wanted Vince to join the “family business”, but Vince has always insisted on running the legitimate business, the family restaurant, Rossi’s Ristorante. However, Vince has been known to cross the busines

This is my first read by this author and I did like the story of Cassie and Vince. In this story we have Cassie working as a waitress at an Italian restaurant. Vince is the manager at the Italian restaurant that she work with and ends up liking him a lot. Unfortunately for her, she witnesses a murder and Vince is ordered to take her out. Wile Cassie is fleeing from the scene when she is hit by car and develops amnesia. Vince realizes that no matter what the order was, he could never hurt Cassie, ...more

Great book with a fantastic storyline. A page turner that keeps you interested.

Cassie has worked at Rossi's for a while now and gone to school as well, it's taken her longer because of her father's medical bills but she's trying. She has a huge crush on Vince, the manager, and the owner's nephew.

One day while working there she sees something she isn't supposed to and has an accident that takes her memory away. Vince is watching out for her which gives him time to get to know her. Then the fire

This was such an exciting book! I loved the action, the suspense, the forbidden was gripping and hard to put down.

Cassie Dalton is a shy, unassuming waitress when she is the accidental witness to a murder by the mafia. In her attempt to escape, she runs out into the road and is hit by a car. When she comes to, she has no memory of the last few years and muddles through day by day without knowing what she missed. Vince DaMarco is the mob boss's nephew and in love with Cassie. When hi

I really enjoyed reading ‘Taking Care of the Target’ by Cindi Madsen. The story of Vince and Cassie was one of friendship that developed into something much more. With amazing characters that such as Vince and Cassie that you could actually relate to it was hard not to get sucked into this great read.

This book wasn’t your typical Mob story and it was never predictable which I definitely loved. There was great suspense going on while Vince was trying to keep Cassie safe after she witnesses someth

Awesom story and great suspense

Well where do I start? This is the first book I have read by this author and it was really good. At first it was a little hard for me to read and really get into with the way it was written, but once I kept going and really got into it I couldn't put it down. The book is about a college girl named Cassandra and a mobsters nephew, Vince. Cassandra is in college taking classes trying to figure out what she wants to do in life while, Vince manages his uncles resturant

Good one Cindi Madsen!! ;)

I was very excited about Taking Care of the Target, the plot sounded very different from what I would expect from Cindi so I was very curious and I think the result was great, a book that has romance but there's also action and intrigue. Plus if you're a fan of Cindi's book you can't miss this.

Our main character Cassie, works at an Italian restaurant , she's very shy, she doesn't really have friends and is just by herself since her father died. She's very shy, she also

This was a very interesting mix of suspense, romance, and comedy. You see Cassie Dalton is an older college student than most because she had a sick father to nurse through cancer. When he lost his battle, she wanted to fulfill his dying wish for her to go to college. When she did she received a partial scholarship from New Jersey. So, she packed up and moved from Colorado to start anew.
She needed to work in order to make ends meet so she applied everywhere. But it was Mr. Rossi at Rossi’s Ita

You basically get what the synopsis promises here, my fellow mafia romance book loving friends. The storyline unfolds at a very leisurely pace with events happening in a mostly predictable, slow motion kind of way, at least until about the 70% mark, when the action picks up.

Vince, the hero, is taking care of business while at the same time trying to stay on the outskirts of his uncle’s mafioso business. He needs the don’s loyalty/protection to keep a constantly getting into trouble family member

Being a fan of Cindi Madsen books it was a no brainer to review this book. It is a bit different form her normal sweet loving books, being a romantic suspense.

But it is just as good as all her other book I read.

I really enjoyed the story, the characters, the romance and of course the suspense.

It was very entertaining and interesting to follow Cassie and Vince along. They made a great couple ever with some lies between them but seeing them maybe work it out and survive was great.

Netgalley ARC Review:

Taking Care of the Target was such a beautiful, unique, breathtaking, adventerous romance that had my heart sighing and my mind happy! I was worried at first this would be a dark romance and dark romances frighten me. I was completely blown away by how much I actually liked this story and I LOVED that it was anything but a Dark Romance. I liked the characters and I loved the plot! This book was so special and sweet, and action-packed, I soon won't forget it. Looking forward

I received an advanced copy of this book with the promise of an honest review.

Talk about being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Cassie Dalton was just doing her job and ends up in the hospital with short term memory loss. She can't remember what led her to run into the street and get hit by a truck and if she does, she is as good as dead. Enter Vince DaMarco. He is the restaurant manager where Cassie works and the nephew of the man who wants to make sure Cassie doesn't remember

I absolutely love this book. I hope to the next book is bobby, Vince brother. Lots of suspense. Lots of shooting, lots of hotness. Cassie is a super women in my book. And very forgiving. I'm not sure if I would have if I were in her boats but Vince did save her life on multiple accessions. And the connect between them. Wow!!! U can feel it thru the pages. Lol.

I liked this book for the most part. I really enjoyed Vince, but Cassie was not my favorite. I can't put my finger on it, but there was just something about her that I didn't completely like. The main reason this story is getting three stars is because it was so long. The story would pick up and then slow down constantly. I understand though because it wasn't like your normal play that you could easily wrap up in 300 pages, but my short attention span couldn't handle it. I think It was more of " ...more

Great! Excellent storyline that kept me guessing throughout. Liked the characters a lot, but find it hard to believe they actually managed to pull off escaping from such a strong syndicate.
