She joined Usborne Publishing almost straight out of university and has been writing books for them pretty much ever since. She has written about everything from dinosaurs to the Queen to Fairy Ponies and tiny monsters, small enough to fit in your pocket. She is also a mum of two boys and works from home, where she spends most of her time talking to the dog and trying not to eat too much cheese.

This is the traditional tale of Rapunzel, a girl who was locked away in a tower, had very long hair and was eventually rescued by a Prince. We used this in our year 1 class over a couple of weeks, revisiting the story everyday in literacy. It was used to teach the children about fiction, traditional tales, sequencing and their own creative writing. The sequence of lessons would have worked the same with any traditional fairy tale. This one was good as it had the repetition of "Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your hair" that the children loved to join in with. This is suitable for any key stage and should be available to children if their lessons are directed by this story.

Overall, this book was pretty interesting. As a child i did not take the time to read the story of Rapunzel. I really enjoyed the story of Rapunzel because it was not like every other tale of princesses it actually had a deeper story. I would recommend this book to little girls in the third grade in order to teach them about the fundamentals of a fairytale. The story was about a couple who had a baby but the mother had a craving of a vegetable in a garden that belonged to a witch. In the second try of trying to get the vegetable the father was caught by the witch and he had to make the deal of giving her the baby when it was born. The witch ends up keeping Rapunzel in a big tower with no doors. She is kept away from the rest of the world until one day a prince tries to help her. He begins to visit her but then the witch finds out and she cuts Rapunzel's hair because it is the only way that the prince could get up there. The witch then sets Rapunzel in a dessert and blinds the prince. However, he manages to find her and they live happily ever after! Overall, the pictures are really fairytale like and colorful. I enjoyed reading the story and looking at all the pictures. I think that this book would be an awesome pop up book. This book can also be used in order to have a third grader practice simple reading as the vocabulary is not too difficult.
