Hooked from the very first page, I loved this Regency romp, and it's lead characters. Charlotte was so sassy and her dialogue was fantastic; Maximillian was wonderfully appropriate, frustrated and gentlemanly. A great read to escape into. Thanks to the publisher for the review copy in exchange for an honest review.

I took a sidetrack from reading Viridian to Soldier's Woman by Kelly Lyonns. It's sort of a paranormal adventure story set sometime during the Peninsula War; it involves a young woman hunting a magic book and an evil villain, and a British soldier who rescues her. The characters are believable (the heroine is sensible and the hero is heroic), and the action is exciting and non-stop. The Soldier’s Woman was a cute historical romance with a twist of mysticism to add charm to the book. It takes place during the Napoleonic wars, a time period I haven’t read many books on. I really liked the flow of the book and the characters. I look forward to reading more from this author.
