Bella and Owen were together for six years, until Owen upped and left for a new job in the USA, leaving Bella behind nursing a broken heart.

Five years later Bella hears the news that Owen is returning back to the UK, and to Saffron Sweeting, her home town. She is still madly in love with him and will do anything to win his heart back. Including, new clothes, dramatic haircut, and trying to get herself a new body.

After five years will Owen still be the same person she initially fell in love with,

At the behest of French Women Don’t Get Fat, I embarked on thirty-six hours of cleansing, where my only food was a thin leek soup. In between slurps, I purged my half of the fridge of anything which might lead me astray. I bid farewell to a pot of clotted cream, plus some leftover blackberry crumble. But I did eat the chocolate mousse I’d made on Thursday: that was too good to waste and surely didn’t undermine the magical properties of the leek soup.

My bravado wavers when we arri

I loved this book! I have enjoyed all the books in the Saffron Sweeting series, but this one was my absolute favourite.
After 3 books I feel very engaged with all the characters but Bella has always been my favourite. i struggled to put this book down as I couldn't wait to see how it all turned out.
This is a seriously good read, and I highly recommend it!
The Book Junkie Reads . . .
I love a good second chance romance. I love it even more when its the woman that sets her eyes on
her man and make it all happen on her own. Okay so that does not happen much, but this time around Belle has a plan put in place and a way to get things moving. It was just a few things that tripped her up. Belle had to first fine love within and about herself. I started reading this one for the reason of finding me a romance, a good second chance for two people, but I ended with just wanting Belle

Having now read all three of the ‘Saffron Sweeting’ novels, I have to admit to missing the place. These novels are like your favourite soap opera: you become invested in the characters and feel you could fit right in in the community if you moved there tomorrow. Don’t expect fast-paced action. These are cosy, read on the beach or in front of the fire tales, full of fun characters taking care of each other, romantic fails and successes, surprises from the past and lots of British humour. Enjoyable read

This is the 3rd book I’ve read in the series and really enjoyed revisiting characters from the other stories. I like that Pauline doesn’t just have 1 or 2 possible love interests, there’s other characters introduced where you think “could this lead to something?” Looking forward to the next one.

This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review. Love this story and the characters they are unique. Sometimes things are not meant to be cause they not good for you or doesn't support you but the right one will come along.

This is a most delightful book. A book I like to read with a start, a middle and an end. The story is full of twists and turns with the ending I had hoped for. Congratulations Pauline a very good read.

This was one of those books where you wanted to smack some sense into the main character, Bella, . This book was everything I wanted it to be. It was fun, entertaining, frustrating at times (Yes, I like that - I like books that bring out emotion in me even if it is frustration!) and sweet and romantic in all the right places.

Al I can say is thank goodness Bella had a lot of really great friends helping her through this and looking out for her best interest, because she certainly didn't know what

If you're a baker, or like eating baked goods (so just about everybody on the planet, right? Haha!) then you'll want to read Sweet Pursuits. The plot begins with Bella's attempts to win back her ex-boyfriend Owen, but at its core, Sweet Pursuits is about Bella reclaiming her happiness. The supporting cast offers pops of comedy, and the setting of Saffron Sweeting is utterly charming.

Big thanks to Pauline Wiles for providing a complimentary review copy!

I've read the other Saffron Sweeting novels by this author and all of them have been a delight. They all feature genuinely likable and relatable characters and provide a heartwarming enjoyable read. This book was no different. This one features Bella, a character who I grew to like a lot from a previous book and was happy to have a book devoted to her. Very entertaining and enjoyable, I highly recommend this book if you're looking for something light-hearted and fun without wanting to endure "fl ...more

In Sweet Pursuits, the third book in the Saffron Sweeting Novel Series, author Pauline Wiles weaves a delightful tale written in the first person narrative of one woman's journey of self-discovery while trying to find her soulmate.

The reader is transported to the village of Saffron Sweeting in Great Britain, where they follow Bella Beecham as she attempts to win back the heart of her ex-boyfriend Owen Rigby, a genetic scientist who is returning to Saffron Sweeting after five years of living abro

If you know me well, you’ll know I love romantic comedies - bonus points if they happen to be set in England. Sweet Pursuits fits both of these categories. Set in the small town of Saffron Sweeting, this book follows Bella on her quest to win back her ex, the ‘love of her life’, who not only dumped her, but took off to America without a backward glance...until several years later when he returns to England for his job. Bella, having never

I really really liked this book!

It is way too British for my own good, considering I just recently moved back to the UK.

I am writing this and I am not 100% sure if this is part of a series but really, I loved the setting, the characters and pretty much everything about it.

I thought the little town and its inhabitant were so well written and it set the atmosphere or the book so well. Honestly, it is exactly as I would have imagined it in my head, I could almost see me living there!

Now let's talk

Whilst the book can be read as a standalone it is one of the novels set in Saffron Sweeting. So as I had previously read both of those books "Saving Saffron Sweeting" and "Secrets in the Sky" I began to feel right at home, it felt like catching up with old friends as I recognised characters from previous books and also re visited the lovely Bakery.

When Bella realises that her man that got away (Owen) is returning to Saffron Sweeting she sets out to win him back with some hilarious consequences.

There’s a certain comfort to be found in the pages of a familiar author’s work and Pauline Wiles hasn’t failed to deliver. After reading Saving Saffron Sweeting I was looking forward to jumping right into the latest Saffron Sweeting novel and reading a story from the same universe, featuring characters from the last novel is such a lovely experience. Once again Pauline’s writing has come at exactly the right time for me. I couldn’t help but empathise with Be

Kindle Unlimited, not how I got it, think it was one of those here you go we hope you review it type things. It didn't overly have too much 'girly ick' fact and maybe just wasn't in the mood for it, because really enjoy the way the author writes, then there is the brit angle of course, which I like. Didn't want to take off star just because of somewhat indefinable eh factor for me personally. I call books like this 'brit fict'.

One of my goals this year was to read more books outside my typical genre which lead me to pick up this book.

I enjoyed it. I don't think it's too much of a surprise that Owen isn't the wonderful guy that Bella thinks he is (he did leave her for a job in California - taking the job without consulting her or even trying to maintain the relationship). Part of the fun of this book was seeing everything that Bella missed about him, about herself, about others that the reader could see. Although this

I have also read Saving Saffron Sweeting from Pauline Wiles, and I was quite pleased to see this release because I enjoyed the first book so much. This romantic comedy is such a quick and cute read. We dive into the story right away and the fast-pace keeps up throughout the whole way. I loved all the foodie talk and how Bella was able to find a way to still love and bake food while trying to watch her weight as she tries to win her ex back. Loved the romance aspects to this story as well and it’ ...more

This was a very cute story that brought back some familiar characters. Bella is trying to win back her ex Owen whom she dated for a very long time. She was expecting an engagement ring when he took a job and moved. Now he is back and while trying to win him back, she struggles along the way. She makes new friends and learns to love herself first.

What a cute and delightful story. At times I wanted to shake Bella to wake her up so she would see that Owen was not the one for her and to look at what is in front of her. We all have a little bit of Bella in us so this story makes it easy to relate to. Pleasant chick-lit read for a relaxing weekend getaway.

British by birth, Pauline is now a contented resident of California, although she admits to occasional yearnings for afternoon tea and historic homes.

Her debut novel, Saving Saffron Sweeting, reached the quarter final of the Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award and was a number one Kindle Best Seller. The stand-alone prequel, Secrets in the Sky, was reviewed by Publishers Weekly as ‘an enticing read’.
