Challenging Read - Not For The Faint Hearted

This was the most challenging book to read so far in the series.

The descriptive details of what occurred to the boys was almost too much for me.

I persevered and got through and I truly hope there are no more stories involving youngsters. Literally made me feel sick.

On the flip side, this book flowed well and was fast paced. Maybe a little too fast paced at the end for my liking. These kids have suffered hell and it's like "... Found them. The end".

The positive of the book is seeing Agent Isabel Baker being coming less stuck up in her ways and understanding Jack that bit more.

I'm just hoping it's not going to turn into a romance novel between them...

while most of us are aghast at the horrors of what is happening in third world nations and the threat of homemade terrorism,this is a pretty graphic novel about pedophiles and their widespread evil here in the States. Unfortunate this could be a true account of everyday life for thousands of children,in this case young boys. Author Andrew Vacchs would approve of this book!Anyone who likes stories about a loner taking on insurmountable odds will side with Jack

in this latest book where he tries to do a good deed and totally gets swamped. Meanwhile we,'ll just have to wait and see what the FBI are going to do with this new episode

This was by far the hardest book in the series so far. Whether your thick skinned or not, the matter that is covered in this book is hard to even fathom, let alone read about in descriptive details. I was constantly feeling so angry or hurt while reading it....which I guess she would it was a fantastic book! But it was almost too much for me, and it took me a lot longer to finish then I thought it would. I did thoroughly enjoy the story as a whole, and still love the series thus far. So gripping(and slightly unrealistic) but still enjoyable still. I'm eager to see where the story takes me....hopefully going forward the subject matter is....different. So Very Emotion Provoking!

Alright, this was a good story and it was also totally disgusting. It was bad enough that it was written about little boys, but it wasn’t necessary to describe what the boys were made to do. That kind of shit was uncalled for.

Jack didn’t fair so well in this book. He got the holy hell beat out of himself. Ouch, he even had some of his fingernails ripped off, not to mention getting pumped full of heroine. It was brutal this time. But you can’t help but root for him, no matter how many he kills.

No romance and the F-bomb was used 33 times.

As to the narration: As usual, Adam Gold was wonderful.

Former mob enforcer Jack Winchester is in Oregon after having "escaped" from FBI custody with the help of (Agent Isabel Baker). He needs some sort of "job" to replenish his dwindling funds and sees a news story about a missing child parents offering a reward.

Seems no one (police/FBI etc) are really investigating and after two months, the parents are desperate. The story line is not enjoyable but the closer Jack gets, the more determined he is. He eventually involves Agent Baker when he has more information and finally, the investigation gains traction.

Didn't like the subject matter.

Disturbing topic

Jack has outdone himself this time. The images of the children were very disturbing.
I know this is fiction but maybe some of this really goes on . I certainly hope not!
The book was mesmerizing and hard to put down at the end of the day. Jack is
certainly a super human character, but happy to know even though evil exists there
Is someone to counteract the evil with good intentions!

you’ll like these books

Guarantee you’ll like these Jack Winchester books. He’s a great character with a good supporting cast of well developed characters. This story is a little tough since it deals with human trafficking. But I’m sure it’s not far from reality which is horribly wrong and tragic. I hope there are some real men like Jack Winchester doing the same thing to anyone involved in that world. Highly recommend

I wasn't thrilled with the topic of this book. It was something very hard to swallow. But, I knew with Jack on the case everything would be okay. With a little help from his new friend Isabel, they got the job under control. Poor Jack really paid this time with a few beatings, but that's what makes these stories real. The hero is not invincible. On to book 7.

Jack vs Bond, Willis, Bosch and Segall

Even though the writing is all over the place you can’t help but move on to Jacks next unbelievable solo conquest. I am sure that somewhere in Hollywood a series is being discussed. Jack is like a train wreck, you can’t look away. On to Jack’s next “one man army” adventure of doing the right thing!

Each book in this series takes you deeper, you can't predict anything he takes you places you don't really want to go, yet can't wait to get there. Never predictable and he never slows. This has been my favorite so far, can't wait to start the next book!

I'm on to book seven. I have read one a day, can't put them down. Yes they are a little bloody but the characters and stories are great. If you read book and like it I recommend you go on because they just get better.

Having read the last five am so glad there's more to the series . Fast paced with current story lines and getting to know the main characters who have chemistry it's getting better with each book . A must read if you like lots of action and drama .

A Tough Read

I kept turning the pages but considered setting it aside a few times. The details of crime involving kids is nothing short of disturbing to read... so consider that before you dive into Prey! Jack is single-minded and relentless. As usual.

So far this one has tone my favorite. Lots of action like the others, but Jack taking down the lowest of criminals. Start reading these books if you haven’t already, each one of them are really good. Number seven awaits!
