An absolutely essential reference book for anyone wanting to explore and understand the roots of science fiction. If I were to list 10 books that I'd never get rid of, this would easily make the list. Bought it years ago...consult it often. Incredible research. Thorough to the nth degree. Highest recommendation.

Everett Franklin Bleiler (April 30, 1920 – June 13, 2010) was an editor, bibliographer, and scholar of science fiction, detective fiction, and fantasy literature.
