Guilty Pleasures Book Reviews

Josh the flirt and Suzanne the solemn. Josh goes with the flow. Suzanne has a plan for everything. Talk about two of the most unlikely people to ever fall in love. But, the wonderful Jennifer Bernard not only made it work, she killed it.

Josh has had it bad for Suzanne from the day that he laid eyes on her. Even if all they did was argue and bicker. He sizzles when he is around her but just can’t get her to let go of her picture of the future.

Suzanne has one goal in life … for it to be perfect. N

If you haven't yet read a book by Jennifer Bernard you don't know what you're missing. She not only writes wonderful stories, she writes great heroes. They just crack me up! I will admit that I like her firemen stories better then the baseball ones and I'm glad she's gone back to them.

Burn so Bright is #2 in her Jupiter Point series. You meet both Suzanne and Josh in the prior book and I would say that I liked them

"How could she break through the "friend" barrier between them? Should she break through it? Or was that just asking for trouble?"

"Time to face the facts. He was kind of a goner for Suzanne. And he had no idea what to do about that."

Oh my goodness!!!

I was so excited for Josh's story!! I loved him in Set the Night On Fire, and I was ready for his backstory.

He met his match when it came to Suzanne, but she was otherwise engaged...literally. But things weren't exactly what they seemed. She wasn't a

Where can you find a sassy heroine who knows what she wants and goes after it. She wants marriage, kids and the white picket fence. Done! Her fiance just has to finish law school and get his dream job. No deviation for her. No sir. Until the said finance wants a free pass before they get married. She has no interest in it. Nope not even the hotshot Josh.
Where can you find a guy who knows what he wants and goes for it? Spending winters all over the world, committing to no one, not even having a p

Loved Burn So Bright, the second in Jennifer Bernard's Jupiter Point series, about a group of hotshots (elite firefighters who specialize in wildland fires, often compared to the Special Forces in the military) whose home base is in the beautiful Jupiter Point, a fictitious West Coast town.

Josh Marshall has a reputation as the jokester and jester. Rarely serious, he keeps his team, and really, everyone, in stitches. Suzanne Finnegan, party-planner extraordinaire, is often the opposite--her atten

A top-notch contemporary romance that I couldn't read fast enough - I loved it! The second book in the series about the Jupiter Point "hotshot" firefighters is every bit as good as the first one...and I am anxiously awaiting #3!

Loved Josh! We have all met a "Josh"- confident to the point of cocky, a constant jokester...but the reader discovers a serious side to him and he just gets better as the book continues. I liked Suzanne well enough, just didn't love her...I found her too much of a doormat

Burn So Bright is the second book in Jennifer Bernard’s Jupiter Point series. This can be read as a standalone, but I suggest reading the first book in the series, Set the Night on Fire, because it does give some backstory that helps explain a little bit about what Josh is experiencing.

Suzanne Finnegan is an engaged party planner who rarely sees her fiancé. She also has a dream. A dream to own her family home that her parents lost during the financial downturn.

Josh, the ever-bachelor, steps in t

If you are ready for the next story in the Juniper Point series get ready for lift off. In the latest book in the series you get to follow the story of Josh Marshall, Suzanne and Logan. Josh is a key member of the hotshot team and Suzanne is engaged! Yes, you read that correctly engaged to another man. Logan is studying to become a lawyer and exactly what Suzanne wanted in a husband. Being a honeymoon planner Suzanne thought she knew what she wanted. Josh Marshall is a member of the Jupiter Point Hotshots. He's the jokester of the group and he just loves riling up Suzanne Finnegan. The only problem with him wanting her so badly is her fiancé. Suzanne is Jupiter Point's honeymoon planner extraordinaire, but she can't get her own fiancé to show any real interest in her party planning. She tried putting together a relationship with Logan based on how logical they are together, but being around Josh makes her FEEL. Then a few different circumsta ...more

Josh and Suzanne have to be one of my top favorite book couples! I knew I would love them together when they were first introduced to us in Set the Night on Fire. Their oil and water routine was definitely foreplay. Burn so Bright is their story and I fell in love with them even more. I love their fun banter and sizzling chemistry. This was one of those books that grabs you from the start and keeps you wrapped in the story until the very end. I couldn’t put it down. I love the small town setting ...more

Love Jennifer's firemen

As always she has done it again if you are looking for a good firemen book this is the one for you. He never thought he'd want to settle down because he has a screwed up mixed up family. She wants the perfect family for her parents left her at a very early age and she is desperately wanting a normal life . forget Love , as they have the same goals and interests for their future. Throw in a dog , old house, and a fire or two . He stands in for her always missing in action

Wow!! I am loving these Hotshots from Jupiter Point!! Josh is the new hotshot and is a playboy, not looking for anything serious until he meets Suzanne, can they be more than friends. Suzanne has her life planned out, marriage, kids and white picket fence until her fiance asks for a "free pass". There is an intense sizzling chemistry between Josh and Suzanne, that they both try to fight off until an injury to Josh and Suzanne plays nurse to Josh. Then they finally open their hearts to each other ...more

I so loved Josh and Suzanne!!! I did not want their story to end, but I know we will keep up with them in the other books in the series :).

I enjoy books that can make me laugh and there were plenty of moments in this one since Josh was such a jokester. I wasn't expecting Suzanne to match him though, so that was fun to get involved with their banter.

The feeling like you are there in Jupiter Point with these characters makes it so hard to put the book down. But when you do, you feel like you will

This series just gets better

I absolutely love this series about the Jupiter Point Hotshots. Burn So Bright gives us the story of Suzanne and Josh. They are attracted to each other, but she’s engaged to Logan. Josh is always making people laugh, so he’s not taken seriously by a lot of people. I won’t leave any spoilers, but I will say you will not be disappointed by reading this book. I love the relationships the firefighters have and how the town supports each other. I can’t wait to read Briann

Book 2 of the series and I was looking forward to Josh and Suzanne's story, because Josh is a joker, and both him and Suzanne could bicker for fun. I did enjoy the story, it was missing something for me, I can't put my finger on it. I loved book 1, too. Josh and Suzanne get their happy ever after, and they have to work for it. I did laugh at several bits, the humour is needed in fire fighting stories of this kind. I will need to read book 3 next. If you like a fast paced romance story these

Didn’t like this book as much as the first in the series. Suzanne and Josh are very different people who end up falling in love. She puts up with too much crap from her former fiancé — who stays with someone who wants a free pass to screw around before he is trapped by marriage?! Ugh. Move on. And Josh’s transformation leading to the HEA was a bit too sudden for me. But I love the friendships with the townspeople and fire fighters.

Burn So Bright is the second in Jennifer Bernard’s new series based in Jupiter Point. The first book in the series was great but I loved this one even more. This book gives us the story between Josh and Suzanne, and I fell in love with Josh right from the start. I really enjoyed watching the relationship build between these two people develop. The banter between them help make these characters real and brought humor to the story. This book can definitely be read as a standalone book but I highly ...more

Finding the one that's worth the risk

Josh Marshall uses laughter to ease all situations and gloss over all emotions. Family drama has convinced him to never marry.
This is the story of how he learns to trust and love the one woman who can change his mind.
A great read!

Great addition to series...

Josh and Suzanne are great together. How she became engaged to Logan is certainly a mystery. He is one selfish, narcissistic male. So glad of Suzanne got her HEA.

Cute entry in the Jupiter Point series. It lurched around a bit finding its groove, but picked up once Josh and Samantha were forced to live together.

P.S. I doubt anyone in the world uses PowerPoint to organize that much. Excel, sure. But not PowerPoint.

Man did Suzanne have horrible taste in fiancés. Logan was the worst. Good thing Josh was there. Very enjoyable story. Very cute couple and an adorable Snowball.
