About the author

Steve Murray is a World Acknowledged Healer, Psychic, Author and Teacher. Steve teaches through his Books and DVDs and now does his Healing work through video conferencing . Steve is the author of the global best-selling Reiki the Ultimate Guide books and has over 50 self-help programs on DVD. A few examples of the topics on DVD are Reiki Healing, Psychic Healing, Soul Retrieval, Aura and Chakra Healing, Removing Psychic Debris, Contacting Angels, Past Life Healing, Cancer Imagery, Weight Loss, and Pain, Fear, and Stress Relief. All of his Books and DVDS are on this site.

Steve also was a certified Medical Hypnotherapist for many years and besides seeing clients one on one he developed Cancer Imagery programs that are in still hospitals around the country. For example his programs are in University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center where patients have access to the videos in their rooms for viewing and are included in their aftercare program.

I have been a Reiki Master for 6 years and teaching Reiki for that amount of time as well and I realized that I never actually read a book about just Reiki...I did enjoy this book and I thought the how to give attunements were the most helpful. I wish I had received this detailed guidance during my Reiki Master training. However, not sure this information should be given in a book because I imagine that someone will try giving attunements without being attuned themselves. Not sure how effective that would be...As for the controversy of giving remote attunements...I was trained to do this in my Reiki master Teacher class. If you can send remote Reiki to anyone on the planet, why not an attunement? I have done remote attunements myself and they appear to be as effective as the in person attunements.

I really liked this book, however, I have not yet received a Master Attunement so I think the book will be a much more useful reference after that takes place. I was very appreciative for Steve's explanation of the whats, hows and whys. I was provided with information that I didn't really receive at my Reiki I and Reiki II classes. Or, if I did receive the information, it was forgotten. Thank you Steve for demystifying the "secrets" that are beneficial to Reiki healers at all levels.

My first reiki attunements were from Murray's DVD distance attunements. I have since received others, but since these were my first ones (done out of sheer curiosity), I thought it might be worth seeing how those attunements might have differed from others. In particular, I was looking for differences in symbols or attunement methods, and I did find a little bit of that. Overall, this is a fairly straightforward book. Apart from the introduction defending Murray's decisions to publish the symbols and to provide attunements over distance (which I'm sure were controversial at the time, but aren't so much anymore), the majority of the book is dedicated to detailing the attunement process, with a bit at the end about using it to enhance psychic powers and mediumship. It's somewhat refreshing that it was so straightforward, but at the same time, I was expecting a little bit more. I am curious if his later works go into a bit more detail, but as it stands, this is a reasonable companion to his remote attunements, but not really very groundbreaking, otherwise.

I am coming at this review with some years behind me using reiki. With the perspective of some years, I can now see more clearly where Steve Murray was headed with his books. He is a somewhat controversial figure as he broke with the you can only teach and attune students in person schools. Through the years I have also come across people charging outrageous prices for their reiki courses, some asking $10,000 for the reiki course as the master or 3 level. Steve Murray's books have clear pictures to show step by step how to perform what he's teaching plus there are actually many views of the chakras and energy body. I sometimes wished for more info on certain subjects, but I feel Steve was giving the streamlined version without being long winded and without fluff. He made it possible for people to learn reiki at a reasonable price. And now, especially in the light of Covid, the you can only teach in person schools are teaching online...so much for only teaching in person. As with anything, you should choose your Reiki Master using your own discernment because I do believe we connect better with some than others. I have used Steve's books as overviews and refreshers and they are of course good for people learning reiki. The books are well made so should last a long time.

The large majority of this book contains detailed, step-by-step descriptions and photos of how to give sessions and attunements. I am currently only a level 1 practitioner. While I can't use most of the info now, I think it will be very helpful when I get to the Masters level. I see this book being an essential reference guide on my bookshelf in the future. However, I was expecting a little more depth into some of the content which I didn't get. Essentially, this book is just a reference manual (however useful) and not a philosophical text.

This one is going to be my next read and I'm very excited about it. This fall I plan to start my Reiki level 1 training and my teacher says this book is great. I'll rate it after I finish reading it.

The subject intrigues me and I feel drawn towards enhancing my knowledge further.

This guy knows his stuff. I have spoken to him several times about this book and his teachings. This is one of several books in this series. I am half way through. I also have the companion DVD.
