Have you ever felt like you just wanted to have a few brainless minutes, free of the responsibilities of home and hearth? It’s Thanksgiving and young DeShawn is overwhelmed taking time to just chill, with a beer, to steal a few minutes of DeShawn time when he met her.

To say Lucy is a force to be reckoned with is an understatement, but DeShawn had no idea what can of worms he would be opening that fateful Thanksgiving Day and beyond.

Once again, Calvin Demmer boldly takes on a traditional holid

"It all started with a glass shattering..."

Deshawn Williams sits in a dingy bar contemplating how his life took a wrong turn. The only source of excitement in his life was watching a heated exchange take place between a barmaid and customer.

The barmaid accused of being a homewrecker looks like trouble, one to be avoided but when she approaches Deshawn stuck in hs quiet life he is powerless to resist the danger that surrounds her. He's supposed to be going home to his mum

Calvin Demmer does it again with this addition to the Dark Celebrations series. Deshawn is a very likable character. His original plight is a relatable one with all of the military operations going on. But once he meets Lucy, his world changes as he quickly learns that "sinning is winning."

Here lies another creepy tale, told by the voracious writer, Demmer. This was an original tale with a startling outcome. I can't say I knew where this was going — I mean, I did, kind of — because Demmer doesn't exactly write happy endings, but I was surprised at the ending all the same. Some of Demmer's stories are stronger than others when it comes to originality. I would say this tale was one of his stronger creations I have read — so far.

It's a short, gooey, unpredictable tale tha

Another killer story! Lucy was an interesting character and you dont really know what to make of her at first. Deshawn is a character who deals with the normal stresses of life, and that leads him right to Lucy. Once they get together, lets just say all hell breaks loose! Explosive read, literally!

Another creepy, good short story by this author. I liked that this one had the same feel as the others but with its own twist and a different kind of ending. An enjoyable one-sitting read!
