The Walters clan is diverse in ethnicity and sexual orientation and lifestyle be it blood or "adopted" kin. Their acceptance and unconditional love makes them a warm, welcoming family. Accepting Malcolm Collins into their family was a no brainer. He manages their horse farm efficiently and effectively. Wendy Ryan has had her eye on Malcolm for a while but has convinced herself her wouldn't want her. When racial slurs begin to show up around the Walter's property and there's an attempt on Malcolm ...more

Favorite Quote:

Ever since her illness, at some point every day, he stopped and listened to her heart beating. Death had been so close, and they'd beaten it.

My Review:

Cruelty, bias, arrogance, discrimination of race or sex, small mindedness - it is all the same thing to me, and all the more disappointing when witnessed in people I know or share DNA with, which was a good enough reason to move far far away. But some people live to stir up trouble, spew inflammatory remarks as gospel, and incite v

This book was really great and fit right in along with the whole LUC series. Each book that MS.Hall writes is about some social thing going on in this world. A lot are really things nobody want to discuss or even mention.
This book is one on how racism affects everybody.s world. Not just the Black and White one but any race. How just a few words or just a look can be mistaken for something someone does not know what is going on at all.
These characters sure find out, Malcolm and Wendy found out as

If there's one thing Deanndra Hall does well it's weave an emotional tale that will bring her readers to tears.
I'm happy to say I've read more than ten books by this author and never been disappointed.

One Wrong Glance is Malcolm and Wendy's story.
Two people attracted to each other yet too afraid of rejection to give it a shot.

It begins simply enough, racial graffiti on their homes and business but quickly escalates leaving no doubt that Malcolm is the target.
The Walters assign Wendy as his body

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Wow, this was a great book! The storyline was different in that Deanndra Hall made you think about the usage of certain words and colloquialisms commonly used that can be unknowingly offensive and hurting. The book maybe fiction, but the storyline can be related to true-life situations and you will want to keep reading to find out what happened. When reading the story, it may make you feel sad, confused, appalled, and even euphoric. What

You know you have read a fantastic book when you just HAVE to drop a line to the author's page and let them know you are bawling. This book is most assuredly an ugly cry. It also has some very heartwarming and sweet moments. The characters are compelling and well written. I did not want to put it down.

Malcolm and Wendy have so many hurtles to get over and it seems that just as the clear one another pops up to try and stop them in their tracks. The steam factor is pretty high and there is defini

Omg this book made me cry so much! It was such a roller coaster of emotions. Wendy and Malcolm start out great and things quickly go bad. I felt so bad for both characters. They really had a hard time communicating. As always the Walters' clan and all the friends are around to give them moral support and eventually Wendy and Malcolm manage to fix their relationship. The reveal of who the bad guy was, was quite surprising and I wasn't expecting that to happen to Malcolm or Wendy. And the ending! ...more

Wow what a great book. I think this world would be better off if everyone could get along and treat each other with love and respect. This book will make you think about your actions and if that helps in anyway I think it is great. I found this book so good and so well written that I didn't want it to end. I am not going to lie there are things in this book that happened that I didn't want to happen but that is just like real life things happen weather we want them to or not. I was gifted this b ...more

This is Malcolm and Wendy's story, and it is an emotional one. In this latest book in the Citadel series, the author tackles a difficult and sensitive topic and she does it beautifully. The strength of these characters in a turmoil filled situation is inspiring. There is something for everyone. Mystery, suspense, steamy romance, and hope! I highly recommend this book, and the rest of the series too.

I'll start by saying what an amazing book though reading it took me through many emotions. The story line is real and tough but you still get the amazing love that makes this wonderful family that the author has created for us. I felt like I was there living the story at times it was so real to life.
