Elves & the Argo Adventure is yet another funny, satirical, comic about elves created by the fabulous Katja Vartiainen.

This time around, the elves are going on an adventure! It all starts out when the swallows tell/tweet to the elves THAT THERE IS NO COFFEE! It's a real tragedy, just like it is for us adults in the real world. How can the elves expect to work their five hour work week without some form of caffeine?! The elves resort to alcohol, magical beings, Dolph Lundgrun, and a fishcorn,

I read this novel in one sitting. It wasn't really my cup of tea... the illustrations were pretty neat.. I especially liked the Fox, Mr Goat, and the hedgehog that was addicted to coffee.

I would encourage the author to continue working. If you liked the attack of the killer tomato and other satires, you will appreciate this graphic novel. Do the Keebler elves know about this group? This book has interesting characters and I am glad they got their coffee. I shudder to think about the planet destroyers they could become with their needs unfulfilled. I will be donating this book to our Friends of the Library shop to share it with others and contribute to a good cause

Katja Vartiainen is a Master of Fine Arts, painting. She calls herself a multi-dilettante because she also has done illustration, teaching, worked in indie film, and even upholstery. Her visual inspiration comes from fine arts as well as from everything on this curious, tragicomic piece of rock floating in space. She has several doodle books, her comics have been in the humor genre, and now she is ...more
