I’ve read and enjoyed several books by this author and I truly loved her ‘Balls in Play’ series, but, in my honest opinion, 'Brave Line' is Kate’s best work to date. This author’s newest release is gripping and held me captive from the beginning until the end. Filled with sweetness, sexiness and emotion, 'Brave Line' is engaging and real. If you, like me, are a fan of this author, or you are looking for an entertaining story filled with pretty much everything, you have to try this aweso...more
I’ve read (and loved) every book Kate Stewart has written. Some of her books have mega angst, some are super sexy, others are laugh out loud funny, but my favorite books by her are the ones that get me right in the feels. The Brave Line is a read that will touch your heart and soul. It’s a stunning, gut-wrenching, emotional, and phenomenal read. Definitely one of Kate’s best books and a favorite of mine this year.
This book is a complete stand-alone, but we do meet Rowdy and Miche ...more
My palms are sweaty.
My skin is tingling.
My soul is singing.
Everything inside me is on fire.
I am ridiculously happy. Floating high on a mighty blissful cloud of EPIC bookworm feels! I'm struggling to find words. I'm struggling to fully describe how perfect this story is. I don't know how to really make sense of all my feelings in a way where people will understand. I've read all of Kate Stewart’s books and this book is without doubt her best yet. The Brave Line is OUTSTANDIN ...more
I can't say one bad thing about this book. And yet… I couldn’t connect, not with the characters and not with the story. ...more

The Brave take the line.
Straight up, I know that I could not marry an officer…and I mean any officer. Sure, there are plenty that I could fall in lust with because some of those Coppers, Firies, Medics and Service Men are FINE!! But, I know I’m not strong enough to watch them walk out the door and face danger every day. Yes, you could easily say that an accountant faces danger by hopping in his car, yet he doesn’t go looking for danger. And again, yes, I know they don’t go LOOKING for danger, b ...more
ARC provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.
My dear Kate Stewart, you are a fucking genius! I knew this story would be amazing but it was so much more than anything I could have expected. This is not the typical love story, guys. The Brave Line is an angsty, funny, heartfelt and oh-so-sexy masterpiece.
This novel is a standalone but it can be considered part of the Balls in Play world because we met our main (and secondary) characters in that series. This ...more
Another edgy, smartly written, nail biter, heart stabbing, cry out loud, amazing book with well rounded, tough, tormented characters, carrying heavy emotional baggages!
I nominate Kate Stewart as one of all time gifted, favorite writers!
Of course she is winner. I’m about to binge read her novels.
This is my first Kate Stewart book, and I'll tell you this it won't be my last. Gah her writing, and then Rowdy's dirty talking mouth he is an Alpha in the most delicious way.
There are already so many fab reviews out there already so I'm just going to share a couple of my thoughts while reading this.
This book is as raw and real as it gets, being on the police force is far away as glamorous as you can be. What I loved about this book is seeing into Rowdys day, seei ...more
Review @ Vanilla & Spice Books
“The truth is, everyone is going to hurt you. You just have to find the ones worth suffering for."
It is one of those bad summers that seems to bring out the dirt. Charleston Police have their hands full to keep the city's crime under control. It is a thankless job and cop Randall Owen Day, or how his friends call him, Rowdy, has the night shift. What keeps him going on a daily basis are his best friend, ...more
I read The Brave Line from cover to cover in two days; two days that felt like pure literary heaven in my hands. I cried, I laughed, I got aroused and everything else in between.
Reading a Kate Stewart book is like having a visit with your best friend; you know you are guaranteed to have a great time, you'll laugh hard, and perhaps cry too, but in he end, you know you'll leave with your heart full of wonderful.
This book was everything!

Kate Stewart delivered an emotional story and showed us what it’s like to be a police officer. She showed us the beauty of knowing that when you put on a uniform, you’re risking your life to not only help others, but to make a huge difference. She showed us what it’s like to love a partner that puts himself in the line of fire EVERYDAY and what it means to have a brotherhood.
For all the beauty in the world, this author also gave us a glimpse into another side that c ...more

-You can begin again anywhere you want to in life but you can't recreate your past or the way it shaped you.
Michelle Long is a beautiful woman who moved to Charleston from California after one tragic night changed her entire life. She is strong, confident, brave and a survivor who will never stop fighting for the kind of life she wants to live. She left the fairytale life behind & has built a life she is proud of. She now works as a 911 operator for the City of Charleston.
It is no secret that I am a complete fan of Kate Stewart. Her writing draws me in, every book has been a good read, thus meaning that I have spent a lot of time gushing over her work and trying to review each one to the best of my ability. That being said, I'm not sure I can possibly do justice to her current work. The Brave Line is one of those books that comes along and although fiction, just knocks you back with palpable reality through its beautifully constr ...more
I couldn't get into this at all. A lot of the time I felt lost, like I skipped a page or something....
I just didn't feel it, at all. At about 70% I started getting excited but that was about all. I like to get lost in my books, I didn't with this one :-((
I did like Michelle & Rowdy. I absolutely admire their positions, their backgrounds, and their jobs. I did enjoy seeing how far they both come at the end and how they help each other get beyond ...more
This was a fantastic story. It was full of heart and soul and one that truly touched me as I read. My first from the author and it was definitely a winner. The characters were sexy, sassy, and saucy. There was so much to this story besides the great banter between Randall "Rowdy" Day and Michelle Jones. A police officer and a dispatcher. Both highly attracted to one another but waited awhile before the attraction got the best of them.

Okay, it was me. This book wasn't for me. I didn't like it; I didn't enjoy it. I didn't like its writing. I couldn't connect with the characters. Actually I couldn't understand them. "Then why are you here?"
"Because you're calm water and I'm thirsty as hell."
Cop books are not my thing...add in dispatchers and I'm hitting the floor running. But...but this is a Kate Stewart book we're talking about and I just couldn't not read it.
That doesn't mean things were all rainbows and sunshine...oh no, Kate Stewart gets right to the down and dirty and throws in a heck of a lot of hot and steamy to go with it.
Pheww...there was A LOT of steam that's for sure. Rowdy (Cop) and ...more
Loved this so much. Rowdy, a cop and the hero in this book is fearful of commitment and Michelle, the despatcher and the heroine has a sad tragic past (We meet both Rowdy and Michelle in April and Andy's book) Michelle has been crushing on Rowdy for the longest time and only needs one night with him to relieve her longest dry spell. She understand he is not one for commitment but as always, the heart decides what it wants. Something that was meant to be a quick fix turns ...more

‘It was the man. The man I’d had feelings for almost two years before he’d touched me. The man who made me weak with one look. The man who could control my body with just a breathy whisper. I adored the stand alone, contemporary romance story in The Brave Line. A book with an important message and a beautiful purpose that makes you laugh as much as it makes you feel deeply resides within the pages of Kate Stewart's latest release. Throughout the book I felt everything. The angst, the heart warming moments, the passion, the turmoil, and the fun - this book was just so much fun w ...more
I love Kate Stewart. I love her books and I like her as a person. There are a few things you should know about my reading preferences. I’m a picky reader, there are some books that I just gravitate towards and there are some that I don’t really have interest, but I do like to give them a go. I’m not a fan of cop books. What?! I know. Maybe because I don’t have any experience or I don’t really care for a man in uniform. I married an accountant, so you can see where I’m coming fro ...more
