Book 3 in the Partners in Passion series. A woman in the throes of passion, bound by leather and submitting to the fire of her desires. It's a photo that captures something deep inside Tracy Harmon as she stares at it, spellbound by the intensity and the heat it conveys. Beside her at the art exhibit, a handsome stranger also finds himself stunned by the image - and fascinated by Tracy. George Cluny decides he wants that photo and goes in search of the photographer, a buddy of his by the name of Marcus. Lured out of town by a phone call, coincidence reunites George and Tracy at a quiet country inn. Their mutual attraction rises, helped along by a private event taking place out of the public eye. A BDSM gathering, a couple of silk scarves and the stage is set for them to enter a heated world of dominance and submission, promising more than the simple sexual experiences they've known up to now.
I'm really rather boring... Honestly. I live a pretty hum-drum life as a wife and mother. I shop at the local supermarket and use coupons now and again. See? Boring stuff.
I live in Virginia now, so I am learning all kinds of new things - such as being able to buy beer and wine along with bread and toothpaste. Wow!
Having been born and raised in England, I do possess a well-developed feel for the English countryside. Comes in handy for those Regency tales. Even though I was transplanted over to the US side of the Atlantic, I still have ties to all things Brit. I bake sausage rolls and make Christmas pudding. You can take the girl out of England, but not England out of the girl, I guess.
I'm not sure anyone can write really well unless they read. A lot. I read anything and everything these days. And mostly on my couch with a book on my knees. Yes, the technology is out there for electronic versions, but there's not much to compare with a shiny new hardcover from a favorite author.
I was disappointed in this book. 2.5 stars really. It wasn't horrible by any means, but it was just kinda blah. I didn't get into the characters much, I thought they were kind of cookie cutter, but if you like to read a lot of sex with not much plot, this book is for you.
George and Tracy meet at an art gallery during a show where they bond over a photo of which George knows the photographer. Both are at the end of affairs but neither gets the other's name or number. Fate puts her hand in, and both end up at the same bed and breakfast. George to see his friend. Tracy for a PR job at the B & B. They go to dinner and when they return, they find a full parking lot. Deciding to follow the next person who comes, they discover a private club. The next day, they learn what was happening and are invited to join in. Will they?
I enjoyed this story. I was glad that George and Tracy knew they were at the end of their current affairs, but neither made a move to be unfaithful until the break-ups. I like that Fate has a hand in them finding each other again. I also liked that they both decided to explore what was between them before they discovered the private club. I also liked how Tracy went into PR mode with her thoughts and the club. I appreciated that both had friends that showed them the flaws in their thinking when it looked like their brief affair was over.
I always enjoy Sahara Kelly's books. She is one of my favorite authors. This is the first time I read S. L Carpenter. I plan to read more.
