The boys are back and fiercer than ever!

"We were a unit tonight, moving as one. Even apart, we are deadly, but when combined – we are f**kin’ unstoppable." ~~ God ~~

Atlanta's notorious narcotics task force is at it again. They are stronger, bigger, and better than ever. Especially when a city councilman sends RECON Marine, Edwin Steele - who’s been blacklisted from his Oakland department - to join the team. God and Day weren't recruiting. They have a lot on their plates, like the fact they're supposed to be getting married soon. They don't have the time or the patience to integrate a decorated war hero with a slight chip on his shoulder into their well-oiled machine.

A hothead that's uncontrollable and terrible with authority… but wasn’t that their team motto?

Steele was ready to hang up his shield. He was done fighting with bigoted bastards that couldn't respect the job. He was good at fighting; he just needed the right team to fight with. When his uncle - City Councilman, Rasmus Steele - shows him a video of God's team in action, he knows right away, it's where his nephew belongs in order to restore his faith.

Steele pointed to the driver, a behemoth of a man wielding those massive firearms like a true beast… like a soldier. “And him. Who the hell is he?”

“That’s your new boss. Lieutenant Cashel Godfrey… they call him… God.”

Steele was skeptical about his new placement, but when he meets God's technology specialist/computer genius, “Tech,” he's willing to give it his all, and he definitely shows and proves.

Tech is stunning. His sweater vest and khakis, a stark contrast to the blue-jeaned roughnecks he works with. A beautiful sheep amongst the wolves. Steel thinks there's no way the brilliant man would be interested in a hardhead like him, but Tech has a few badass hidden talents of his own and manages to fool him... fool all of them.

This story is a part of a series but can stand alone. It does not end on a cliffhanger and has a HEA. There are no multiple pairings in this novel.

I have read all the books in this series and the spin-off. I also found out really quickly that A.E. Via's book are my crack !! So you can understand I was so excited when I found out there was gonna be a fifth book. That excitement tripled when I learned that it was gonna release early !!

Afbeeldingsresultaat voor so excited + gif

Fans of this series won't be disappointed. This book is a bit different than the others though. It has multiple pov's and it isn't about just one couple. For me this worked really well, because we got the new love story of Tech and Steele, but we also got God and Day's voices and their story about their upcoming wedding. I absolutely loved getting more of God and Day, and all the other wonderful men in their Special Task Force !!

This books starts of where book 4 ended, with a prologue of Day proposing to God. Did I already mention how much I love these guys ???

Afbeeldingsresultaat voor I love you guys + gif

After this we are immediately thrown into an action scene, where we finally get to know more about "Tech", the task force's "genious hacker". I fell in love with Tech right at the beginning. He was an awesome character, smart, sweet and a little bit insecure. Tech feels as though he's the odd man out in God's team. All the field agents are giants, fighting the streets for the greater good, while Tech sits behind his desk, feeling like he could do so much more. Tech might be smaller than the rest, but he sure as shit isn't weaker. All he needs and wants is a chance to prove his worth.

Afbeeldingsresultaat voor I can do so much more

We also get introduced to a new member of the team. Steel is a former marine, who has served 20 years and even received a medal of honor. He has turned in his badge in Oakland, after a major fuck up by the department, cost him his partners life. Now his uncle, who is a councilman in Atlanta, has arranged a job for him on God's team....or well, more like a try-out really. Nobody really tells God what to do ;)

There is an instant attraction between Tech and Steel and I thought it was awesome, that even though there are so many handsome men on the team, this big ass marine only had eyes for the geeky tech guy <3

Afbeeldingsresultaat voor hot gay geek kissing

Their growing romance was sweet and definitely hot. There was even some very nice "dirty talk", which everyone knows I'm a big fan of !!

"Climb up here, minu armas. Want you to push that cock down my troat"

While this all is going on, God and Day are struggeling with their own relationship. Don't get me wrong, they are still deeply in love, but God keeps avoiding all talk about the wedding and Day is getting pretty frustrated and hurt that they haven't set a date yet.

When Tech finally get's a chance to prove his worth in the field, we get introduced to a new tech guy, "Free". His story will be next and I can't freaking wait !! Especially because his love interest is "Hart", the supposedly straight leader of the SWAT team, and God's best friend.

Fun fact: we also get a visit from Prescott Vaughn and his men :)

For me, this was an awesome addition to this series and I hope there will be many many more !! Please keep them coming A.E Via....I will read them all !!

AE Via knows how to do mm like no other. She's one of my go to authors when I'm looking for a hot man-on-man story and I know her stories will never disappoint. In this addition to the Nothing Special series we meet Steele, a new team member, and get to watch his introduction to the city. And to Tech, the teams go to IT guy and the man he has an undeniable attraction to.

This book was definitely different than the rest of the series and I equal parts liked it, and didn't like it. It was fun to catch up with past characters and get to see what's going on in their life, but it also got a little frustrating when I wanted to see more of Tech and Steele together. There were moments that their story got lost and pushed behind God and Day's. Throughout the book we're giving multiple POV's from other characters and I just didn't appreciate it at times when I didn't care about those other people. I liked them, yes, but I was more interested in Tech and Steele.

Overall, this book was still enjoyable and the heat level was raised to 100 so that definitely saved the story for me. I loved seeing Tech and Steele together and getting to see the chemistry they shared. I would still definitely recommend this book to any fellow mm lovers and this series is one that everyone should give a try.

I absolutely enjoyed every minute of this giant pile of cheesy man love. It’s an odd format, with a new couple (Tech and Steele), but also heavily features couples from previous books.

Completely not five star worthy, but I five star loved it. Narrator Aiden Snow. His voice acting is swoony.

With so many other things going on it was very difficult to keep focus on the main love story here. I mean, I loved Tech and Steel’s romance and they had some serious chemistry, but we get sidetracked from them A LOT, especially in the second half of the book.

But I loved that we also get so much POV from God & Day too. It’s just something else seeing God being putty in Day’s hands.

Favorite moments:
✳︎ the shower scene with the ear piece
✳︎ Tech proving to be badass
✳︎ intarogation with Ro
✳︎ the bachelor party with Ginuwine’s "Pony"
✳︎ God's special Day
✳︎ Hart rescuing Free
✳︎ Steel realizing he finally got what he envied Ruxs and Green for before
✳︎ Gen & Curtis (always) ♡

I loved this book as much as all the others of this series but what really got me giving this book five stars was the bonus chapters and short story for Genesis and Curtis. I loved these characters since book one and I fell in love with them even more when their “puppy love” started in book 3. So I am beyond happy that Ms Via gave some more snippets of them and a few chapters of their own little story at the end of this one, again. And honestly, no one says baby like Genesis does to Curtis. ♡

I probably SHOULD lower my rating for this one as well for all the things said that again annoyed the hell out of me (the stabbing at femme gays/men, bad comparisons in general and other stuff…) but fuck it, I don’t want to. *shrug

Re-read 27th - 28th March 2029.

Original review.

I loved this book. There I said it and to think I almost didn’t read it.
Why I hear you gasp.
I read the previous four together plus a couple of the Bounty Hunter books (I’ve just realised I missed one) and they were all crazy OTT (not a bad thing if the OTT is a department full of gorgeous sexy gay guys) but very similar and I was getting a bit stalled.
So I took a break undecided if I’d continue and I’m so glad I did. Now this book is a little different and in my opinion it was better for it.
We don’t just get Tech and Steel we get all the other guys as well, more than we previously have and it worked.
Normally I kind of fixate on a couple and find time spent with others an unwanted distraction. But not here, I loved all the POV’s and time spent with the guys.
This turned out to be my favourite so far and while I’m eagerly waiting for the next one I’ll catch-up on Promises. Part 3

Plus on top of the best book of this series so far we also get bonus chapters on Genesis and Curtis!

4 Solid enjoyable OTT stars.

It's time that I give A.E. Via books more consideration. I just have to go in expecting a bunch of boys dressed up as alphas and enjoy the OTT ride. These guys are so outrageous that I can't help but find them adorable and loveable.

I'm totally reading this series out of order. Strangely enough, I don't feel lost at all. This installment is supposed to be about Tech and Steele, but there is also a lot of focus on God and Day's relationship as well. I loved it. Of course, now I have to read book 1 at some point.

I'm looking forward to Free and Hart's story.

Bo and Lorraine, I get it now. You ladies can say "I told you so". ;-)

Fans of the series won't be disappointed with this installment in the series. We get back front and center with God and Day's squad and get to meet a couple of new members as well. There's a lot of action right from the start, which helps to make this a real page turner. I stayed up until 3:30 AM in order to finish it because I didn't want to put it down!

Told from multiple POV, the story follows God and Day through their nuptials, as well as new team member Steele, who is immediately taken with Detective Shawn “Tech” Murphy, the team's technology genius.

Though there is some miscommunication between God and Day, they eventually get their Happily Ever After - and I'm not ashamed to say, there were a few sniffles on my end as I read about their perfect-for-them wedding.
Their friends and family stood and clapped for them while they embraced and quietly spoke promises in each other’s ears. Promises of love and fidelity. Trust and honesty. Day believed every word God said. Knew he was safe with this man, always had been, and always would be.

I loved getting to see Steele and Tech's relationship unfold, getting to check in with all the guys, meet new characters, and see a sneak peak into the next couple (Free and Hart? Yes, please!). I also loved the bonus chapter with Genesis and Curtis!

This felt like a love letter to fans from Via. There's action, romance, passion, a little bit of a mystery, and a strong sense of what's still to come.

This series isn't done. Not by a long shot, and I'm excited to get to the next story!

This was my first book by this author. I've buddy read it with my best friend and enjoyed it for the most part. But I'm sorry to admit I didn't get to love it.

It's mentioned in the blurb that it can be read as a stand-alone. But unfortunately, for someone who had no idea who God and Day were ... I felt a little lost. I just stumbled upon their story, the proposal and later their wedding. There were SO many characters (all new to me) and so many couples that made my head spin.

Tech and Steele were super hot together!!! I really loved all the scenes with them, but I am sad we didn't get more.

This book wasn't as action packed as I expected. We get some suspense at the beginning of the book, and later we meet Prescott, but his story fell flat for me. Everything got unnecessarily complicated and with TOO much info about people I didn't know and didn't really care about. I wanted so much more. More scenes with Tech and Steel.

So I think this story got fractured. We get God and Day's wedding - with some relationship angst and drama. And then we get Tech and Steele - who I really loved, but didn't get enough of.

I wonder why this is stated as a stand-alone, but you don't get to enjoy it to the fullest if you haven't read the other books in the series. God and Day grew on me, but I don't get why the author combined their stories and divided the reader's attention between these couples.

Overall it was a good story, with many sexy characters and super hot scenes.

I am looking forward to reading the next book. I think it will be a winner because I really enjoyed seeing straight and sexy Hart watching the new Tech like a hawk!

My favorite in the series!

You get two stories for the price of one! In addition to Steele and Tech beginning their relationship, you get God and Day taking the next step in theirs. And we get all 4 POV's...bonus!

I really liked Tech and Steele. They balanced each other nicely. Tech with his sweater vests, computers & gadgets, and adorable glasses paired with rough around the edges, Swisher Sweets smoking, badass marine Steele was a great combination. They were equal parts sweet & hot.

HUGE shoutout to shower sex combined with phone sex!! I'll never look at an earpiece the same way again.

Image result for fanning self

And although it was insta-lust, I like that the guys took it slower building their relationship. The attraction was acknowledged right from the start, but they didn't move at lightening speed....and I loved that build up to the inevitable.

As for God and Day...I liked their continued HEA, but I could have done without the unnecessary lack of communication plot line. It felt like an easy cop out (no pun intended). Also, for as much screen time as they were given, I'm a bit disappointed that their sex scenes were fade to black. I mean throw me a bone....at least on their wedding night!

A.E. Via does a great job of setting up the next book in the series, which I'm really interested in! I see some hurt/comfort in the future...

Also, there's some bonus chapters in the back of the book with Genesis and Curtis (I have to admit I didn't read it).

Although this is book 5 in the series, it can easily be read as a standalone.

I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the issue that I always have with A.E. Via's books....the editing. This book is definitely an improvement over what I've read in the past, but unfortunately, it's still filled with errors. Interestingly enough, they start to pop up after about a third of the way through the book so it's as if her proofreaders got wrapped up in the story & kinda stopped paying attention. Which, I can definitely understand (I think every proofreader has been there), but you have to remember that you still have a job to do.

BUT, I have to give credit where credit is due...this book is MILES better than others I've read.

It's not very often that I write a bad review. I am very easy when it comes to books, but this left me fuming. I cooled off sufficiently to not say something very unattractive. This was bad. I couldn't wait for it to be over. I don't mind when the MCs or all the characters are a bit better than if it were real life since it's fiction and a bit of exaggeration is fine, but when every single character is so unrealistically perfect (brilliant genius, smoking hot, all weapons specialist, jack of all trades) they become dull and flat. I could not relate to anyone, the situations were so over the top, and do not even get me started on the "humor".

There was no plot, no real story here. There was nothing going on, and even the so called police work was ridiculous. Every single thing is made to fit, every event or trouble is magically fixed by these "extraordinary" men who do no wrong, are all testosterone filled obnoxiously behaving men. I do not know if I am saying it the right way. I hated this book and all the characters in it. Why was there so much on page about Day and God? All the so called drama they had was so empty and unnecessary. I finished this story barely knowing anything about Tech or Steele. When and how did they get to the point that they fell in love? It feels like a lot went on off page. Steele's PTSD was brushed off. Why was Tech's father mentioned at all? It seemed like a collection of random facts that was just out there for no reason. I know why I read this - I am curious about Hart since he is new to me so I wanted to read his story, but to do that I had to go through this...

It just feels like the author has a certain image of a man, and they just fit every character in this book into the mold. The whole perfectionism in physical attributes and the fact that none of them had any flaws turned me off so much. There were a couple of moments where author expressed an opinion that sounded pretty close to judgemental to me. A.E. Via is a hit and miss for me, and this was a total miss - hours of my life lost never to get back. I knew from reading other reviews that this will not be a favorite, but I didn't expect to dislike it that much. Sorry for the rant, but yesterday it sounded even ruder. I just hope that Hart and Free will make this mess better for me.

This series is like...... laffy taffy. Chewy and sweet and tasty, and absolutely no nutritional value whatsoever. Brain candy, if you will. It's like those buddy cop action comedy movies. Police procedure? What's that? Rules? Pfft!

But I don't really care, because this series pulls me in in spite of all the insanity. I know just what I'm getting going in, so I'm never let down.

I loved all the pairings in this one, newbie Steele fits into the gang perfectly, and he meshed quite well with Shawn, or "Tech". These two were hot hot hot, and it was great to see God and Day getting their best happy ending, too.

We also get some glimpses into another book, one about straight guy Hart and newbie Free, and I'm pretty sure I see bad things coming with that douchey cop, Vasquez. We have mention of a possible inside leak, and this guy, coming on so strong, and trying so hard to be a part of this crew? Can the flags be any redder?

Surprisingly, the editing was a fair bit better this time. There were still a few wonky time skips here and there, and someone really needs to teach the author the difference between "coarse" and "course", (beard hair is not course, it's coarse), but other than that, I thought this was very well done.

For brain candy, anyway.

Yes I loved this - loved the series - loved the characters and really wished there was another book ready for me to read ! God & Day had their big moment and helped Prescott out along the way. Techie met his match and Alpha dream guy Steele who as a decorated Marine was new to the team and Techie also brought Free into the team as his super powered replacement. Ruxs & Green continued to be badasses and the bonus novella on Gen & Curtis made my heart warm ❤A few characters were missed but not forgotten... this really is a series about friendship and unwavering loyalty. Awesome guys

God's Special Day

*sigh... I found myself stupidly clapping while listening to the wedding. 🤭😂

This installment made me happy and fluffy. So many things happened and I'm grateful everyone had a good downtime together. This book has all the couples in it PLUS the new one, Tech and Steele. Though the POV only circled around God and Day and the new couple, it was very heartwarming to witness the whole team's presence on this story. There were enough chapters to highlight both couples' stories and it felt complete and satisfying. Even the short cameos and introduction of new members were smoothly integrated that I felt so full just reading about the whole "badass family". Definitely a bullpen of hot bulls. LOL 🥵🥵🥵

Steele was such a GREEN FLAG and I loved him for it. A great addition and a good buddy to the crazy Enforcers. I can't believe Rux and Green bulldozed a row of cars. 🤣 And now that Tech (I'm weak for such a cute hot geek) can join them in the field, they're now a bigger, hopefully not crazier, force. ❤️

ALSO, Gen and Curtis bonus chapters!!! Loved those kids. Curtis was still that softhearted kid of the whole precinct and Gen was a Godfrey through and through. 🥰

I'm excited to read about Free and Hart. Free sounds like a really precious guy and Hart was known to be a teddy sooooo, looks like they'll be a great fit. 🤭

Definitely my favorite in the series...full review to follow soonish!

While I’ve had some touch and go moments with this series...

each story has given me something that I’ve really enjoyed and/or found compelling enough to make me want to keep reading, so for me if I can come away with at least a few memorable things from a story it’s a win from there all that remains to be determined is ‘how much of a win’.

It really shouldn’t come as any surprise that for me this series seems to be on a roll as each book is becoming successively more enjoyable and while the last two books have gotten 3.5 stars from me this one gets a solid 4 stars from me.

I think in many ways this book was just what the series needed for me it felt a bit more relationship focused rather than police story. While I enjoy a good mystery or crime drama I also enjoy a story that gives me relationships that I can watch and enjoy the progression of and I got that in spades with ‘Nothing Special V’ plus there were some wonderfully humorous moments as God and Day prepared to tie the knot and the team gets a new member or two while other members of the team make a bid for changes to their job description. It may be all in a days work but even God’s got limits on how many days he can work with out rest (I hear it’s around 6).

When Edwin Steele’s uncle, councilman Rasmus Steele shows him a video tape of God’s team, knowing that this is the team that he needs to be on if he’s ever going to find his faith restored, Edwin’s a little more dubious about his uncle’s convictions. But one look at Tech the team’s technology/computer genius he concedes that maybe he needs to at least give things a chance.

Tech is left speechless when the gorgeous RECON marine greets him and when he finally remembers how to use his words, the words he use may be meant to impress but what comes out causes a world of hurt for Edwin Steele as Tech blurts out more information about Steele’s past than he should possibly be able to find out.

Tech and Steele get off to a very rocky start but the attraction’s strong and both men are determined to get past the awkward first meeting and see where things can go. These two men have quickly become my favorite pairing in this series. Although the couple that’s coming in the next book may give Tech and Steele a run for their money, but we’ll discuss this a little later.

Ok, to recap…so far we’ve got God and Day trying to get their act together in regards to their wedding nuptials and get ready to testify in court and of course that’s not the only complication being presented by their day job…after all they are cops and there might have been a huge drug bust that went a little sideways resulting in the death of a major drug dealer and Ro getting shot. We’ve got Tech and Steele playing an interesting game of ‘come here, come here, come here, no get away, get away, get away’ it’s a fun game. Sssoooo….you’d think this would be enough to keep these team of alpha males busy… right? Nope, not even close…because in the midst of all this drama who should wander in but Day’s old college friend/lover, Prescott Vaughan. Interesting little side note here…the first book that I ever read by this author was ‘You Can See Me’ which is Prescott’s story, so needless to say, I was a bit of a geek about him showing up in this story. So yes, this definitely gave the story another plus for me and if you think I’m finally done well…nope, wrong again there’s still more and for me it’s a biggie…

It’s the thing that solidified this story’s position my favorite so far for me…first we get to see a bit more of SWAT team leader, Ivan Hart and while he’s been in previous stories this character hasn’t really grabbed my interest a whole lot but he did this time in part this was due to his interactions with the other new member of God and Day’s team one Lennox Freeman (otherwise called ‘Free’). We really only get little bits and pieces of these two men here but those bits and pieces were enough to get me back to audible.com to look for that book on audio and oh happy me ‘His Hart’s Command’, #6 in the ‘Nothing Special’ series is out and on audio and has the same narrator as the previous books which for me is a total delight to know because 1. I really love the continuity of the same narrator for a series and 2. Aiden Snow has done a stellar job of giving voice to this collection of bold, brash, alpha males and their world.

This book….
Wow.
This book….

*Spoiler alert* *Spoiler alert**Spoiler alert* *Spoiler alert**Spoiler alert* *Spoiler alert**Spoiler alert* *Spoiler alert**Spoiler alert* *Spoiler alert**Spoiler alert* *Spoiler alert*

See that up there? That was your warning that there probably be MILD spoilers in this review... if you're going to complain about them... STOP READING NOW!!!!!

I feel it only necessary to warn ya’ll that I’m about to fan girl…. and fan girl hard… there will most likely be mild spoilers, rants, gushing, screaming, crying, laughing and all around Jenny acting like a crazy lady… don’t say you weren’t warned…. Let’s begin.

In the beginning God created….oh, okay, wrong book…sorry. In the beginning, we have a recap of Day proposing, like he did at the end of “Don’t Judge”. I had somehow almost forgotten about that, so I was glad for the reminder and it kicked my fan girl into overdrive. And before I get to into it; can we all just appreciate the perfectness of this cover? I mean, these guys are gorgeous and somehow the covers of this series are always spot on…. Shew!

Now, the first chapter.... right off the bat, we get thrown into madness… a massive firefight that kept my knuckles white the entire time I was clutching my kindle. Green and Ruxs.. I gotta say, I could perfectly picture during their moment of badassery; and how inappropriate were the thoughts I had. I think there’s something wrong with me lol

Then we get to finally meet Tech; now I want to say he’s mentioned before because of course they have a tech guy, but I don’t remember him and I’ve just recently read and re-read these books a half dozen times preparing myself for this one to come out and I don’t remember him SO, here he is; in all his geeked out gorgeous glory. I think I might be a little bit in love with him…(Don’t tell Green and Ruxs). He also reminded me, for some reason a little bit of Michaels in the beginning. He didn’t feel like his job was as important as everyone else’s; he knew he was part of the team, just not AS part of the team, does that make sense? He’s the man behind the scenes that keeps everyone and everything in check. His job might not be in the thick of the action but his job is arguably one of the most important, a lot of stuff rides on his back or they’d all be dead; this one instance in the beginning especially. I’m glad Syn reiterated that and I hoped he got to realize that better as the story went on…. He did : )

Then we meet Steele; after quitting his team for being a bunch of homophobes and getting his partner killed, he couldn’t handle it anymore. Not after his career of being a Black Ops, hardcore bad A was ruined after getting hurt. It was just too much to put up with. He wanted to do his job and do it well; he, like the other guys that we know and love, was proud of his job but how could you do that when everyone was working against you? So, his Uncle; Atlanta councilman, showed him a video of God and all his guys in action and he knew that’s where he belonged.

It was a hard road at first; all of the guys are family, you can’t get any closer than these guys are to each other; one doesn’t work without the other, no matter who you’re talking about; so to throw in a new guy? Well, of course it was going to be tough. Then Tech puts his foot in his mouth a time or two because they’re insanely attracted to each other and lemme tell ya’ll… it’s hot…. Steele fits in great with Ruxs and Green; they’ll all just alike. It’s entertaining as much as they are rowdy. Loved the Ray Lewis reference too; I miss him lol. Seeing/Reading them in action is exciting and nerve wracking; getting that way over fictional characters isn’t easy to do, but they’re perfectly depicted, it’s like a movie going on in my head and I was loving every second of it!

Now; we did go back and forth between Steele and Tech’s POV, but we also got God and Day thrown in too because of a little misunderstanding that had me tearing up a few times, if that could be believed. I hated for Day that he doubted his relationship, and not saying that anything bad came out of it, it didn’t… it was all internal stuff; just Day dealing with his own mind, nothing serious, so nobody worry about that. And also, Tech’s friend and mentor Free… I reeeally liked him and Hart together, I was pulling for them, hoping to stretch the book out so much longer so we could get more from them… here’s to hoping for more of them!

Watching Steele fall for Tech was something else. He wore his feelings on his sleeve and didn’t care who took notice. He wanted him from the day he clapped eyes on him and he made no bones about it. It was sexy watching their go round, trying to go slow but not really wanting to. By the time they finally had their date, I was ready for Tech to cling to him like a baby koala and not ever let go. I loved these two together so much. Don’t get me wrong, they don’t top Ruxs and Green for me, but they’re riiiiight up there with them.

We also see Prescott Vaughn and his men, Ric and Blair; they run into some trouble and you wanna know who was incredibly mouthwatering in that whole scene? Ro… my goodness, I’d love to wish him real and put him on an HBO show or something, just so I could see him action like he did with Mercer. Wheeeew… seriously. Actually, I want to wish them ALL real so I could give them all an HBO show and watch them everyday…. How awesome would that be?! (See, this is part of the fan girl I was warning you about) The two most memorable scenes for me, was the garbage truck one and Ro’s interrogation of Mercer…. Thank you Mrs. Via for giving me those. They won’t be something I forget anytime soon.

Also… the wedding. I feel like I’ve waited forever for it just because I wanted it to badly. I love every single one of these guys.

I thought for sure we were going to have more problems with Vasquez and I’m sure we will when we get Frees story… WHICH I CANNOT WAIT FOR!!!
I could go on and on and on and on about this story, but I don’t want to give EVERYTHING away….
Lemme just tell you, also…. I’m more than a little bit obsessed with Gen and Curtis and I feel like that bonus read at the end, could not have been any more perfect. I’ve adored the way Gen is with Curtis and seeing him take his back (with the help of Free of course) was incredibly sexy…. as was the rest of it (fanning myself over here)

Honestly, this series is amazing, this author is amazing and this addition has been nothing less than amazing. Today was just my first time reading it. I’m going to have to go back and reread them all again just because I’m not ready to be done with them, just yet. I’ll be impatiently waiting for Free and hopefully Hart’s story…..
5 stars from me!

I was gifted a copy of this book from the author through the M/M Romance Good Reads group's, DBML program.

While I really liked getting to visit with the guys again, I'm not enamored with this book. I liked Edwin & Shawn however, I'm sorry to say that I didn't love them or their story.

First and foremost, I would have liked to have spent more time with them and less with the others. I prefer that the Main Characters in a book are the only POV that we get and that their story is THEIR STORY. Not point of views from several other characters and another parallel story.

Furthermore, there were many problems that I encountered and commented on......

4.0% "I've read all of these books yet I'm getting very confused here... jumping from nicknames, first names, last names and ranks I can't keep anyone straight!!"

4.0% "These guys are in the south!!! It's NOT "you all".... it's y'all!!!!"

61.0% "Ummm.... this makes no sense... why didn't the editor, proofreader or even betas catch this??? Though it's acknowledged that it only happened "last night" in the same paragraph before and after that acknowledgement are things being said that make it appear much longer ago. Ex:"there'd been no more mishaps""

62.0% "Hmmmm... " a few weeks ago"....What?! What about the (removed spoiler)??? We'd been told 6 weeks.... then 4 had passed... which should have left 2 weeks.... now jumped to "a few weeks ago"?!?! SMH..."

63.0% "What???!!!???!!! "A few weeks".... now jumping back to appearing to be the day after??? How did everyone miss this massive timeline blunder????"

..... Plus all of the other errors.... grammar errors; missing words; wrong words; formatting errors; a misspelled name;etc.etc.

Ultimately, I feel that we only got a small part of Tech & Steele's story. I not only feel that we barely got to know them but also that they barely got to know each other. I'm left feeling like we only read a small part of their story and was left hanging, wanting more. More of seeing them get to know each other. More of seeing Tech on the job.... more of both of them on the job really. More of them dating. Just more.....

3.5 stars rounded to 4 because I was glad to have the guys back :-)

Yeah !!! A.E Via and her team of Atlanta badass cops led by God and Day are back.
This addition is a bit different than the others. It deals with multiple characters and stories. Mainly Steele, the new cop – ex-military- added to the team and Tech, the Geek of the team. But also God and Day and their upcoming wedding (well, maybe not so upcoming if they stop communicating, damned badass). And a bit about Free and Hart and the sparks between them (it does scream material for book 6, yeah!!).

It’s fast-paced when it comes to action - trust these guys not to take gloves – it’s full of dirty talk and hot scenes. A bit OTT sometimes, but I’m so partial with this series that I’m not gonna dwell too much on that.

PS : Thank you so much Amanda for this Christmas present. Happy Holidays to you !!

~ I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest and unbiased review~ I tried to keep it spoiler free and sorry if I rambled to much :)

Wow! Mrs. Via has done it again. I absolutely love this series. Definitely one of my top favorite. Once you read about these men you'll know why I feel that way. She has a way of writing that makes you fall in love with them all. I don't just have one favorite couple.

This book has all our favorite characters from past books as well as a few new ones. It begins with the ending of Book 4, Don't Judge, a recap from when Day proposed to God. Although we have God and Day's POV thrown throughout, the story very much focuses on Tech and Steele.

Tech is the technology expert for the team and he is smart as hell. At first I wasn't sure who he was so I had to go back and search which wasn't a problem at all because I can reread this series and never tire lol. Although he's badass with technology there's so much more to him and he wants so much to prove it. He wants in the field with the rest of the team. In the beginning he feels because he's behind the scenes and not in the field that he doesn't do much for the team as the others but he couldn't be more wrong and I love how the team members deal with that.

Steele is a former Marine whose still dealing with his life in the military and what happened with his partner. His Uncle brought him in and got him a job on the team. Once he saw the team in action he knew he wanted to be a part of it. When he joins, he's put with Ruxs and Green and he fits right in with them. The first time he and Tech meet we see sparks fly and everyone can see that they want each other. There are some moments where they start off on the wrong foot but once they clear the air, from then on its smooth sailing.

I love the way Steele is with Tech, so sweet and gentle. He knows what he wants and he goes after it, and boy does he go after it lol. *Fans myself* The chemistry between these two is off the charts and it just gets hotter and hotter as the book goes on. Tech is a bit hesitant but once Steele shows him he's there to stay all bets are off and he goes after what he wants just as much. Before these two even realize what hit them, they are falling head over hills with one another. It so beautiful to watch the way they support each other and like the others on the team aren't afraid to show that they love and want their men.

I love the dynamic of the team as well. They're not just a team, their a tight knit family and there's nothing they wouldn't do for one another. Now to talk about God and Day. They are just as in love as they were in the previous books. There was a bit of a misunderstanding but no worries it gets cleared up and we all get the moment we've been waiting for. It was just beautiful. We also meet a new member Free, Tech's mentor. I like the sparks between him and Hart and can't wait to see where they lead. Vasquez is gonna proved to be a big problem in the future, I can just see it. (Read this book and you'll see what I mean). We also get a visit from Prescott and his men. They have a bit of trouble that the team help with.

And oh my, Curtis and Genesis. I've been waiting on a story for just the two of them for so long and let me say she did not disappoint. Let me say I love how protective and loving Gen is of his man. It was near perfect, the only problem is I want more, more, more. It was sexy the way he handle the situation.

I don't want to give anything else away so I'll end it here. Sorry if I rambled, I just can't say enough about this series.

A.E. Via writes alpha men soooo well, and Aiden Snow is absolutely delightful, with a great range of character voices, and an effortless performance of all the action parts, on and off the sheets (*wink* *wink* see what I did there?).

Aiden Snow is fast becoming one of my favorite narrators. He performs all the alpha male voices so well, with just the right amount of gravelly, growly goodness woven into each voice. The Nothing Special series family has a lot of characters, with even more being introduced in this installment, and impressively, Snow keeps up with them all, only having some repetition of tone with some secondary and tertiary characters. Besides character voices, where Snow shines is in the smoothness of tone and pacing, engrossing the listener so deeply, it made this twelve and a half hour audio feel like it's only a few hours long.

Fans definitely won't be disappointed. Told from multiple POV, Nothing Special V, more than any other in the series so far, felt like a love letter to fans from Via. Full of action, romance, and mystery, maybe the best thing about Nothing Special V is the ending, because it keeps the door of possibility wide open for many more stories in the series to come.

4.5 Stars

I loved that we get to see all the guys again, and that the story was told from multiple points of views, but what I loved most is how none of them could keep their hands off of their lovers
Just love tough guys finding that one true love!

This special task force of sexy unstoppable men just got a little bigger with the addition of Edwin Steele. He's an ex-Marine with a classified background, but he needs to move on from his past. When he meets, "Tech", the computer genius for the special task force, on his first day he's head over heels for the super sexy, geeky man. He's quickly brought into the team and is so happy of being with a "band of brothers" again. Shawn...known as Tech...loves his job, but he became a detective because he wants to work in the field, not sit in front of a computer for the rest of his life. He needs to speak up...to prove himself if he wants to show his bosses, God and Day, that he can do the work. He's been on this team for a long time and wants to move up. He also wants to find someone special one day like the others on the team has. Someone to go home to at night. Someone to share his life and dreams with. Has he maybe found that in Steele? Tech loves Steele's dominating side, but he's no pushover. They aren't equally matched physically, but they are equals in every other way. Steel is turned on by everything about Tech, from his snazzy clothes to his brilliant mind that works like the most advanced computer on Earth. The two are sexy, sweet, dangerous, and hilarious. One of the selling points to this series has always been the "family" and the loyalty constantly displayed by this team. The author has done a wonderful job of creating a group that most people would give their right arm to belong to. I am slowly working through the entire series. A>E. Via will either have to write more of these books or I'll just have to visit with them again, which will certainly NOT be a hardship:) OH...almost forgot. There is a bonus story at the end of this book featuring the characters of Curtis and Genesis who we have met in previous books.

Cute. A little bit all over the place but it was nice to see the characters of the previous books again.
I got hooked with Free and Hart. That's a story I want to read. It has all the potential to be my cuppa since it seems it's gonna be a gfy-ofy.
Let's see

4.5 stars. I’ve slowly been making my way through this series when I’m in the mood for detective stories. When I first started this audio I had no idea what was going on. I was confused as I thought it was about a new couple but God and Day had chapters. Once I figured out what was going on I loved it!

We see multiple POVs in this book. We get to see what happens with God and Day after their exciting news in book 4. I loved their scenes so much. Getting to be in their heads again was 😍.

We get a new couple Steele and Tech. Their relationship was amazing! I loved how badass Tech was and how he proved himself. Steele was awesome and was so supportive of Tech. They were incredibly hot together.

We got a chapter from a future MCs prospective and I loved getting to know them! Can’t wait to listen to Free and Hart’s book! Free seems like an awesome character.

And then for an extra bonus at the end of this book we got a few chapters with Gen and Curtis. They haven’t had a story and got together in a previous book so I loved hearing about where they are now. Loved their chapters.

When going into this book be prepared for a lot of POVs and lots happening. But absolutely worth the read and listen! Again this narrator is amazing!! Highly recommend this series and can’t wait to read book 6!

This is Tech and Steele's book but it's also about God and Day's wedding. And if that's not enough you get an epilogue with Gen and Curtis. Did I forget to mention there's also an episode with Day's old boyfriend, the celebrity chef Prescott and his men? You could say there's a lot going on here. Short review - this was good but not a favourite. 3 ⭐⭐⭐

I wasn't sure what I was going to think of this one. The last one wasn't great for me, but I loved this one.

Tech and Steele were great. They had an instant connection, but took it slow. I also love that with each book we get the prior couples as well. This whole team just make the books so much better.

I will say that I would've liked more with Steele's old unit and everything that happened. I figured that Tech or even Free would look into it more, but it really was slid under the rug. There was definitely more focus on God and Day getting married.

I am interested in seeing what happens with Free and Hart. It's very clear that they will be the next book based on things in this one.

I also liked getting some bonus chapters with Gen and Curtis.
