Red Spawn Delivery is the third of a trilogy of the adventures of Ganpril Webrid, a big ugly Yeril, who agrees reluctantly to save his world with the help of his scientist friends. In this story, the group of out-of-this-world heroes must save the lives of dozens of threatened spawn. Well written and very humorous, the Webrid stories take place in a circle of three planets somewhere in the universe. All characters are aliens with various amazing abilities and bodily forms. Anybody who has had ever had to make the choice between loaning his prized possession and saving a bunch of babies will immediately sympathize with Webrid's predicament in this book. Fast-paced and surprising, full of funny characters ("funny" as in humorous *and* strange), and set in exotic locales, this new "Delivery" will entertain readers from one misadventure to the next all the way through its scintillating, sexy, serendipitous ending.

I'm halfway through and love, love, love the atmospherics of this third book in the series. I need more Doritos! Ms Johnson is such a pulp fiction meteorologist, if you will, showing gorgeous character fronts and character weather systems. And the dialog precipitating from it all. I need more Doritos! I can't wait for Hollywood to discover this series.

Once Again Anne E. Johnson has taken us on a wild and whimsical ride in Webrid's wacky world. With his irreplaceable cart by his side, along with his colorful group of friends Webrid sets out to save 50 kidnapped spawn-babies in a rollicking romp through interplanetary locales. Ms. Johnson makes even the most alien of alien creatures relatable. This book is great fun, and I recommend that you read all three, in order, to appreciate the world she has invented. With a Douglas Adams like wit and ...more
